  1. Was your BNK case number noted anywhere on the police certificate? It probably would have been better if they mailed it directly to you, and then you submit it with all the other documentation.

Apparently, it was their policy to mail it to the requested consulate. I doubt they have put my BNK on that certificate, most likely only just my name :(

  2. I have requested a police certificate as part of k1 packet to be mailed directly to the US consulate from overseas. Apparently, with the given tracking number, it was successfully delivered by Thai Post on Sat 18th March, but as of last Thurs US consulate said they haven't received it. Is this normal that they take a long time to actually locate my doc into my file? Has anyone experienced sending extra doc to the consulate? Thank you...

  3. Hi there...I came from Bangkok, and I got my police report last Jan paying a 150 baht...100 for the fee since I'm foreigner there, and 50 for mailing...It's free for Thai Nationals... :)

but it took 3 weeks to get it, I never heard a 1,500 fee for speeding up the process since I know couple of friends who got their clearances with the same fee with mine...

Its not free even you are a Thai (me applied for myself) and yes it is 100 THB for the processing fee (there is a notice there put up in the office that this fee is effective from i forgot since when) and 50 for postage if you want it mailed, otherwise its just 100 THB.I received it surprisingly on time (with EMS) exactly three weeks as they mailed it out the next day. This was just in March by the way..

  4. Hello ,

When Danita was at the Thai post office paying for the inteview a woman told her she needs to buy a pin number too. I had not hear of this, do we need it? what is it for?

    Thanks

    tim

And make sure she is paying for the right type of visa, coz now there are 4 different type of fees, and i got overcharged coz the officer had no clue for different types of fee headbonk.gif eventhough i kept asking him to check mad.gif anyway, its 240 USD as of this month for K visa. And no pin is required... that i know of... good luck!

  5. Yes, I recieved the package 3 last week with instruction to d/l from the website and I sent it out on Tuesday; however with EMS it only reached the embassy next day and it is now stuck in embassy for Songkran long holiday before I would get any response from them since the embassy starts their holiday tomorrow!

  6. As i am preparing for documents while waiting for consulate instruction for K1 packet 3, i am afraid my police certificate might take too long (about 3weeks) to submit it with packet 3. So the question is, is it possible to give them the police certificate on the interview day so that wont slow us down in submitting in packet 3? Anyone have done this? Anyway, another foreign police certificate gotta be sent to US consulate directly from the police force. blink.gif

Second question is about the checklist, apprently it is required to submit the checklist with the request letter and finger prints to get the foreign police record. May i ask if the checklist you will get with packet 3 will be any different from the one downloaded on the website e.g. Applicant name or case number indicated on checklist page or something?wacko.gif

    Thanks

    Certificate of Clearance

Available. The police records for Singapore may be considered complete from their origins to the present, except for the "occupation" period during World War II.

For all applicants, a form letter from the requesting/processing office (NVC, KCC, Embassy, employer etc.) is required to obtain a Certificate of Clearance (COC). Such letter should specify the need for the clearance and state explicitly that "a statutory declaration of no criminal conviction by the applicant is not acceptable as evidence that he/she does not have criminal convictions". The COC will be sent directly to the requesting/processing office.

Applicants residing in Singapore are to appear in person at the COC Office located at Blk D Police Cantonment Complex, #02-07/08, 391 New Bridge Road , Singapore 088762. The office is open from 8.30am to 12.30pm , Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).

Applicants residing overseas should submit their applications (original) addressed to: Head Criminal Records, CID ( COC ), Blk D Police Cantonment Complex, #02-07/08, 391 New Bridge Road , Singapore 088762.

Processing time for each application is about 10 working days.

Processing fee is S$45.00 per application. Payment can be made by cash, NETS , cash card, or credit cards (VISA/MASTERCARD) for walk-in application. Application sent by post (from overseas) must be accompanied by a bank draft made payable to 'Head Criminal Records CID ' through a Singapore-based bank. In addition to the processing fee, a postage fee of S$5.00 must be included in the payment (total S$50.00) if the COC is to be mailed. Payment is non- refundable once the application is accepted.

All applicants must complete the Certificate of Clearance application form available at http://www.spf.gov.sg/faqs/doc/coc_appform.pdf in full and submit it with the necessary supporting documents:

•A set of applicant's fingerprint impressions (ten prints). Applicants applying in person will be fingerprinted at the COC office at the time of application. For application by post from overseas, the applicant must submit a set of his/her fingerprint impressions taken by a qualified Fingerprint Officer at a Police Station or an authorized office of the country he/she is now residing.

•A photocopy of applicant's valid passport (showing biodata page).

•Two recent passport-sized photographs. Instant photo machine is available outside COC Office for applicants who appear in person (cost: S$7, approx. USD5.50, for 4 passport size photos).

•Photocopy of document from relevant consulate/immigration authority/government bodies or other requestor to establish that the certificate is required by such authority and that a statutory declaration of no criminal conviction by the applicant is not acceptable as evidence that s/he has no criminal convictions. All documents are to be translated into English if written in other languages.

NOTE: Non-Singapore citizens requesting a Certificate of Clearance must also submit a copy of this letter after adding the names of the principal and dependent applicants as indicated, along with the checklist letter from NVC.

Please refer to http://www.spf.gov.sg/epc/cert_issued.htm for further information and updates on Certificate of Clearance from Singapore.

Thanks for the info, but yeah if anyone out there has experience fromThailand context to share about this for singapore COC particularly please do ka.

I will probably have to call singapore embassy here about the fingerprint thing, or i should consider flying ito spore for holiday anyhow.

  8. Just wondering if any Thai in this forum has an experience getting a police certificate from Singapore. So far from what I found in VJ, it requires a request letter from US embassy as they wont usually give out to non-singaporean. Has anyone experienced requesting it from US embassy in Bangkok? How did you go about it? When should you ask one from US embassy? How long did it take in total?

    Thank you! :)

  9. I am expecting my NOA2 anyday now, and got a text from the USCIS which got me excited. Unfortunately, it was a text saying they changed my address. I did not move and did not change my address, so I will call and clear it up with them later when they open. I was wondering others got this today or was it an isolated incident?

I got another message 2 days before my NOA2 approved, it was for Alien Registration Number changed?! hope your case is the same, good luck.

  10. What do you mean by one person "from your group"? What group are you talking about?

    And congrats!

The group implies to other K1 applicants that have number of their cases next to yours, so I tried by running number up and down in USCIS case status tracker and I found 3 in total including mine. But then, there could be more K1 applicant who has their applications received by USCIS the same day but somehow their numbers are seprated into another lot.

So apparently, people in my group got our case status updated at the same time. But in some other cases, some might get approved earlier or later in the same group, depends... but it could give you a sign that your status is close to get any updates or not...

Hope this info is somehow useful, someone else can correct it if it's wrong ;) good luck for everyone...

On February 13, 2013, USCIS transferred some casework from the Vermont Service Center to the Nebraska Service Center to balance overall workload with processing capacity at the centers. The affected casework includes the following forms:

I-821D, Consideration of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals

I-765, Application for Employment Authorization (when filed concurrently with the I-821D)

I-765 Worksheet (when filed concurrently with the I-821D) (pdf)
