  1. I wish I knew, too. I know now why so many people try to be shady and circumvent actual processes for fraudulent options... this is just nuts!!! I mean... my fiance and our future is so worth it. But if he didn't have the better career outlook, we'd already be together because he'd already be here in Canada!

Ah well... trying not to get too worked up. I just want this part of the 'approval process' to be over with so we can go forward. We have a wedding date (which is still far enough away to not be of concern - yet!)... and I'd hate to have to switch to the IR1/CR1 route because our petition was tossed in the 'maybe later' pile. Seriously! Why are NOA1 petitions after mine at the same office being approved?!?!?!

That's exactly my problem. Everyone in feb an march and April are getting processed from Vermont and he we are waiting (semi) patiently for our full 5 months and then some and others are waiting 3. I wish I could just go there marry him and work on it from there, but know we went the legal route and suffer for it.

  2. Lol - I totally get it... I'm in Windsor, 5 mins from the bridge. I played hockey for years in MI! Ah well!

Still trying to be patient... but it bothers me that there's no rhyme or reason to this process. People who have professed of 'potential hiccups' in their petitions are seemingly getting approved on the fast track. It starts wearing on you after 4 or so months - especially with approval flying around after your NOA1 date!

That's what I thought, too. Most of my friends and relatives can't believe its taking this long to 'check us out'. They know who I am since I cross so often, and know everything about my fiance - he is government employed! What's the hold up?!?! But I guess no preferential treatment for any one country (except those in countries with imminent danger) is probably the best way to keep things fair. I just choose not to like it :P lol...

So what you're saying is we all need to move to third world crisis Countries? Lmao I'm in! I want to know why some people get expedited. Can "I miss him Enough to kill someone" be a good reason? I want mine expedited, I'll pay lol

    Stupid process *grumbles*

  3. Not to throw gasoline on the fire...but even after approval at the embassy....there's more waiting...

This I can handle. It's the not knowing, not being able to plan, not knowing when I need to start getting my stuff together. It's impossible when you don't have an answer. My apartment lease is due in October, I don't want to resign it and then have to sublet in november or something silly. it's too much. All I need is a simple yes or no and I can start taking the steps I need to make sure I end up where I want to be (with my to-be husband)

  4. Is that for a Tier 2/ISO call back? Don't let them schedule the call back for 3-5 days. Ask him to call them, and when they make that offer he should just say that he'll hold. Once they transfer him the system there has a call back function that takes a few hours or so, depending on wait time. No reason to wait 3-5 days.

Thanks, we really don't know I thank god for places like visa journey because i'd go off the deepend if it weren't for all of yous!! :D I let my Fiance know and he's going to try calling back again today.

I would suggest to make an appointment using the InfoPass and talk to someone at your local USCIS office. Its passed their average 5 month processing time, they "SHOULD" be able to help you out or at least give you some clues where you at. Usually when you call them or ask them about your status and if you have been waiting less then 5 months they will tell you to wait 5 months. If you call ask to speak with tier 2 representative, they will give you more information. Good luck smile.png

what on earth is infopass?lol this sounds like a good idea, is there a different number to call for this or is it the same ol' customer service phone number?

as for the rest of you good luck to all! and thanks for putting my email into over drive lmao I didn't expect my rant to start a mob :D wishing the best for everyone still waiting and to those who have gotten their approvals Congratulations!!

  5. I'm with all of you guys. So frustrating. The part that makes me the angriest is that they require so much "intent of proof to marry," but yet you can't even plan the wedding because you never know when you will get approved.

I was assured by so many people that since my fiancé is European things would move faster. After looking at the processing times when I filed in January (NOA1 Feb 1), I thought September 27 would be adequate time for the wedding. My parents have planned a black-tie event in Texas, and many of my fiancé's friends and family have booked flights. Now it looks as though we won't make it on time for the visa...I guess he can fly in anyway on a tourist visa and we can hoodwink the guests into thinking the judge married us privately? So frustrating.... Try to follow the rules, for someone I've been with for 3 years, seen in person a good 12+ times, only to get slapped in the face. I honestly feel ripped off by my own country if that makes any sense.

Sorry I just needed to get that off my chest.

Don't apologize I created this post just to rant. I'm with ya.

  6. Lol you'd think with us being Canadian it'd make things a bit easier...since we're already visitor visa waived and all that fun stuff.

But let's face it. It's dealing with government. It really REALLY sucks, but it is what it is.

Exactly. My fiancé just called and they have scheduled a call back for him apparently they're looking into it and will call him in 3-5 business days?

  7. I hear you... our NOA1 date is 5weeks after yours and I'm antsy already. I kind of feel like... "damn... I'm right here in Canada! The US is RIGHT THERE" Maybe hoping that our case would be 'easy' because of the fact the government has scanned our passports together 40-50 times in the last 2.5yrs. They know we travel together. Gah. Keep the faith, hun... it could be any day now for all of us.

I know I'm in WINNIPEG I can practically walk to the border lol this should have been a lot easier than they're making it. I need a support group (outside all you wonderful vjers, of course). Trying to stay stron but the urge to have a little tantrum on the floor is overwhelming lol

  8. I'm a January 3rd filer transferred to texas with a weird status showing on my case .... I called them and requested an inquiry two weeks ago. Upon calling them after two weeks, i was asked to call back in two more weeks again. Keep faith ... Many people haven't heard anything yet

Thanks and I'm sorry to hear you've been waiting so Long as well. It's just there's so much goin on in his family (weddings, new births, baby showers) and I'm invited to all of them but always have to decline because I don't live out there yet and can't keep flying down. It's heart breakin not only to not be with my fiancé but his family as well. I wish you luck finding out what is happening with your file.

  9. I'm seeing people from march and april getting their approvals and i'm still waiting. this is starting to drive me bonkers. My fiance and I got our NOA1 in January on the 25. We were transferred to texas on June 21 and everyone in or around that time seem to be getting their RFE's or Approvals. My fiance isn't working today so he is calling to see whats up but REALLY? why are they processing so far ahead and theres still people from january waiting? I don't anticipate any problems seeing as how i've gone over our original package several times, and don't see anything we've missed or provided any less proof than others who have been approved. I just want to move and start my life already :( thank goodness I'm visiting next week for our birthdays because i'm going crazy by myself over here :/

  10. Okay so I'm a January Filer, and in the end of June my Fiance and I were transferred to Texas. We recieved our hard copy of the transfer notice in the mail about a week later. Do we start the waiting process over? Everyone is starting to get their NOA2s and if needed RFEs, yet we continue to wait. Is there a number besides the stupid customer service line to call? when we call there they just tell us the case has been tansferred and is in process. I want to speak to someone who knows something or can tell me something.

Who do we contact? Is there anything we can do, besides calling the congressman?

    Thanks everyone!

  11. Hey, might be totally off topic. I filed late Jan.... NOA1 was Jan28. Originally was at VSC and was moved to TSC June21. I've received the 3 different messages from them saying I was moved bla bla. Now just waiting .... I'm new btw but I've read the forums for about a week now and thought it was time to join the conversations lol.

This wait has taken such a toll on my life overall. It's crazy :( but all I pray for is that it's worth it in the end :)

Trust me I'm with you we have pretty much the exact same dates and scenerio. Keep strong, our times shall come!!

IM APPROVED !!! Checked case status right before bed !!! OMGGGGGGEEEEEHHHHH !!!! Ughh I'm unemployed but I'm getting a job tomorrow , also my dad is co-sponsoring so wish us luck !

    Noa1 jan7

    Transfer to TSC may29

    Noa2 july2

    Congrats!!!!

  12. Hello All!!

Sorry i don't know how the heck to title this lol. I'm going to be visiting my Fiance for our birthdays at the end of this month and staying for a few weeks. The problem is that we have been tranferred to Texas about a week and a half ago, and I know most people start getting their RFE's and Approvals in 3-4 weeks after transfer. What happens if we receive it right before I leave or while I'm there?

    • Do I have to cancel my trip?
    • Do I have to go home early if we get it and I'm still visiting?
    • How long between NOA2 and our Interview?
    • is it going to pose a problem if I get it before I leave?

I already know I can run into some trouble trying to cross the border, but honestly I have yet to have any trouble at all in traveling. I'm just curious as to how an approval or RFE can affect us at this point?

    Thanks everyone!

  13. I know a bunch of us were transferred on or around June 21,2013 to Texas, myself included. Has anyone in about that time frame heard anything yet?

I'm wondering because My fiance and I kinda share the same birthday (mine being the 2 and his the 3 of august), and I'm intended to go visit him. I don't know what happens if we get our NOA2 while I'm visiting, would I have to come home right away?

  14. The I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

What does thaaaaat mean? Lol. I had a notification Friday the 21 that it got moved to Texas now this? Ahhh

  15. My Fiance seems to be bouncing back and forth with work right now, and we are slowly creeping by this process as we have just been transferred and are hoping for some sort of answer soon. My big question is the Affidavit of Support. If he becomes unemployed, are we doomed? I know you can have a co-sponsor and his family is willing to lend us a hand there as they are all 100% supportive of our relationship, bt is his financial standings going to cause us problems if he is unemployed at the time of my interview? I worry how to go about this step, if he is financially unstable when our NOA2 comes around, does he fill out an affidavit of support as well as a family member or just the family member? This is my only big worry in the whole process, as everything else we are pretty much in the clear for. Any help would be really appreciated.
