my case ends in 81. i checked 80 on uscis and not found. but 79 has gotten their NOA2. does this mean anything, does it mean we're next?
Mine ends in 83 and only one around me is approved. I hope this means you're close! It would mean I'm close too. I saw this an jumped to check the 80 close to me. Its not approved so we are different batches. I hope soon!!!! The more it seems possible the more anxious I get. I with they would clear out all the remaining July and August filers though. There are so few left. I hope for the sake of the filers that most of them have withdrawn and just not updated their timeline on VJ. I can't imagine that wait. We are up to 5 months and 3 weeks right now.

It's been over 20 a day recently for I-129F petitions, which is unusually/absurdly fast. VJ members only represent about 5-10% of all applicants per visa class, remember. Just a few weeks ago, we had 0 approvals per day for many many days (less approvals per month January-March than per day for the last week). At this rate, I've calculated that December should be roughly finished up in about 2.6 weeks, which means CSC will be operating within their 5 month timeframe again. If the current rate continues, of course.
Once the backlog is clear, CSC approvals will most likely drop again to a steady rate to keep in line with the 5 month goal.
This is an AWESOME post! Thank you... I just want to check... do you "optimistically by the numbers" think that November AND December will be done in 2.6 weeks?? By the numbers??? Any thoughts?

Yesterday I checked my case on line and I noticed that the message has been changed but the status was still the same (initial review). Today while I was at work I tried to call USCIS just to check (it was my first call ever), and after I entered my case number, I couldn’t believe what I heard, so I went to the computer to double check and there it was. It has been approved!!!! We are so happy and blessed. I wish all the best for those who are still waiting, and one thing that I noticed in the last two days that USCIS have been moving faster than before.
Thank you and good luck to you all!
Congrats:) I'm wondering if you applied to expedite or did anything special to get your approval so soon?? Any feedback would be so appreciated!

I am not sure what it is like at the moment. When we booked our interview last fall it was about a 3 week wait and we took an appointment 4 weeks later. It may vary depending on the month.
Thank you... I would be happy to get it in that time frame. Of course I'm waiting the NOA2 and have no idea how long that will take:) Hopefully soon. Thank you!
-
You book your own interview, You need to get the information online from the USembassy/consul website.
Thanks:) I am trying to figure out what the typical wait time is from when Vancouver gets your info to when you book your interview. Is it hard to get a spot or is it fairly quick once your paper work is in place and you can actually go online and book it? Thank you for your reply.

Hi There... My fiance and I are trying to get a handle on how long it generally takes to get your interview at Vancouver once your NOA2 has been approved. Does anybody know the typical wait time? Also, for a child do I need to have a letter from her father allowing her to immigrate to the states? If so, what does that look like? I'm not thinking anything will happen soon but we want to be ready. I'm assuming she will need vaccination records, a police report and passport photos. If you have any information I would so appreciate it. Thank you.

Well that's weird because same type of petitions received the same day usually follow each other... maybe you were the only I129f received that day. What is your NOA1 date?
My NOA1 date is Nov 7th. I'll keep typing:) I guess that was a very feable attempt. Thanks for your help! On that note my fiance called USCIS yesterday. He is not a VJ follower so isn't up on a lot of the "news". He called to inquire where our application is. He said he got the same "script" response I've read about here. Then the person at USCIS asked him a question and he told him the reason our deadline is the middle of July to be approved. The fellow said that meets criteria to expedite. He took a bunch of information from my fiance, gave him a receipt number and said we should hear in 5 days. This was not at all what I expected based on the posts on calls here. I'm taking it as a positive step. Any thoughts or advise?
-
Lol this is not a stupid question don't worry i didn't know about it either until i joined VJ.
So you have your receipt number on your NOA1, you go check your status on the uscis website. Let's say your receipt numbers end in 536... you'll check the numbers up and down (535, 534 and so on....) until you see it is a different petition than I129f. You'll be able to see the status of those petitions, received the same day as your.
When I did this I got all DACA and employment immigration applications. I entered about 15 numbers and no K1. Did that happen to you??

Hi there... my fiance is about to contact the woman at our congressman's office who has been very supportive thus far. He asked me to send him Igors list showing all the late November December approvals. I went to send it to him and was shocked at the change in the last hour! It's overflowing with July - Sept approvals! CONGRATS to all of you!!! My question is can we see more than 15 of the latest approvals on Igors list anywhere? Is that possible??? What a change an hour makes! This makes life very hopeful. Thank you for your help.
CANCEL THAT!!! I should have tried harder. Figured it out:)

That is something we should be sending to all our congress "people". ARGH.

That is a whole lotta work to figure out those numbers. I'm blown away by all the people who are working so hard to make this problem better. I was doing great until I hit 5 months. This is when I expected to get my NOA2 based on predictions when we applied. Going past this is hard and I know that sounds unfair and cruel to all those waiting since July. I can't fathom that. If I hear anything else from the woman who is our rep for our congressman I will let you know. She pretty much got told the same thing that most people here are being told. I liked the "update" that they are actually working on August cases... but that's still a long ways away from getting to November if there is any semblance of chronological order. (Which obviously there is not.) If all of our congressmen and women are calling I gotta think it will get some type of a response. Something. I'm usually really optimistic about pretty much everything. I'm sadly losing that now. My heart goes out to those waiting since July.. not that it helps anything.
till I hit mid July 18 cases

Great work. I'm in the same spot with my senator's staff as well. They at first accepted the USCIS's non-answers, but now they are starting to see the inconsistencies between them and the USCIS's own data. I mean, it's ludicrous on its face that they can keep the processing time frame date the same for over three straight months and claim that DACA has not affected K1 processing. Beyond that, you may also want to send a complaint email to the USCIS ombudsman's office so that you can get their generic reply that acknowledges the delay in processing I-129Fs due to other priorities. That reply, as vague as it is, conflicts with what your rep was told. If you can forward that reply to your rep, it should help them see the extent of the shenanigans.
I already emailed the ombudsman. The generic email is very vague. It doesn't say "DACA" is the cause of the slip. Only that they are "realigning resources to address the processing times". I will send it but it's so vague. Do we know of any reason why the Nov. / Dec. applicants who recieved their NOA2's got theirs early?? Was their any hardship cases? Was there confirmed help from a politician? Was there anything or was it just blind luck that they got pulled??? I watch this forum like a hawk and haven't seen anything but I may have missed it.

She has been very helpful. Her phone call yeilded the following information.
- USCIS has hired staff to look after DACA applications. It has not impacted the ability of USCIS to process K1 visas.
- They are processing applications from July 18th.
- When my fiance told the congressman rep that they are processing applicants from Nov. Dec. she replied "that is not what she's being told".
Apparently they are sticking to their story. I have since forwarded her a bunch of information from this website. We will see where it goes.

We are Nov 7th for our NOA1. There was an error on my original receipt saying my country of birth was the US. I made a request to change it and have since received a notice saying they would send an "updated" receipt. We then received the "receipt" which was in a different format than the original and it gave me (the beneficiary) a number which is new. This makes me think our file is accessible and good to go. If it was damaged I'm not sure we would have received these last 2 letters. Just a thought.

Last night I emailed the USCIS ombudsman about my concerns regarding the processing times at CSC and my pending case.
This morning, I received the same response that someone else posted on visajourney yesterday: The processing time at CSC has slipped due to other processing priorities, but they are currently moving resources to the I-129f cases. As they do so, they anticipate the processing time to decrease. (My letter said not to copy and paste it, otherwise I would have posted it here)
Here is the ombudsman email: OLUInquiries@dhs.gov
I suggest everyone write to them. No matter if you just received your NOA1 last week, or if you have been waiting months. It takes 5 minutes to write a couple of sentences about your concern regarding the processing times for K-1 fiance visas at CSC.
It seems they are finally doing something about it, and if we keep the pressure on, maybe they will realize just how bad it has gotten.
I just emailed them. Seeing December filers get approved has me in an absolute tizzy. Why some and not others. What about all the July August filers who are waiting. Seeing some folks gets thru makes the wait harder for some reason. I am happy for them... but I want to "be" them. I sent an email. Maybe I'll hear something back. Our congressman has been very helpful thus far. Hopefully things are going to start moving quickly. Thanks for the nudge to write.

I just called every week and kept putting in Service requests to give me an updated status. I did not expedite or write my congressman (yet). Hopefully there is more and more movement for all of you. I would say keep calling the reps and demand you talk to tier 2 and ask questions.
I am a November filer like you. I'm excited that you got your NOA2. Can you tell me how you put a service request in? I see "e-request" but there are 2 options in there and neither are for status updates. Also, how do you demand to talk to a tier 2 rep? Can you fill me in on the process?? I very much appreciate your help and again congragulations.

'duraaraa' - If I'm not mistaken, the 'law breakers' didn't come to the U.S. by choice -- they were brought by their parents. While I don't like the fact that my application (I'm a December filer) is being slowed down any more than anyone else, I also think it's good that people who are not at fault but simply find themselves in this country (just as those of us who were born here did) will have a chance to stay here.
Back to the topic, though... I really hope they can be considerably more productive. I know they sent many of the DACA cases to Texas, so hopefully they can work on our petitions sooner. The wait causes a lot of suffering for all of us.
Duraaraa? The question is not whether the children of illegals should have the opportunity to become part of the legitimate, but their place in line! You filed in December - how would you feel if 5 months go by and you find out that 100,000 applicants filed a few days ago and already have their paper work in process? That is happening! All of us who filed last year in late July, August and after have been stood to the side because of the DACA act that began in earnest in September -
I was told today by USCIS that they are pushing their expected timeline back to 1 year from date of application. And this happened because of one thing -- the immigration reform act that put the illegal's at the front of the lines -
I agree it's the order in the cue that's the problem. Please tell my you made a typo. They are saying a year?? You talked to an actual live person who said that?? Please say that isn't true. Was there any more details??

just got an answer back from my congressman's office, they talked to CSC last week and were told they would get an answer by the end of this week, today CSC called them back and told them that they are currently only processing forms from july 18th or before.
UHHH Excuse me? I'm sorry but most cases going through right now are end of july and august if not later, i mean come on, if you want to lie and make an excuse at least make sure it makes sense. I find it ridiculous that we have to hunt these people down for them to actually do anything. Its starting to really tick me off, if it was just me waiting ok, fine, but there are young kids involved, school will be over soon and parents need answers on what to do with them for the summer. Daycamps here or summer daycares are paid in advance no refund if canceled and can easily be close to 1000$. Not money i want to throw away.
Our congressman has been really helpful at taking info from us. We are not complaining about the wait... I'm a few days under 5 months and know I need to wait my turn. We are complaining about the decrease in the number of files being processed and the reason it seems to be brought to a halt. Out communication thus far with the congressman has been very positive. We will see where it goes. My daughter has been given a starting position on a post secondary school in the US in her sport. If my visa is not in place in time she will lose a year of school and perhaps the option to play sports and get an athletic scholarship. The F1 student visa doesn't appear to be an option because of my K1 application. I know my reasons for wanting it sooner are nowhere near as "big" as others. To us though, it matters. I'll let you know what our congressman finds out.

Hey, may I ask you where in their website did you see this infos? I tried to find it, but with no success...
Thanks!
I don't do anything that technical! I look at the K1 Progress?? forum and see if anybody reports getting their NOA2. I then look to see which service center they are at. Today there were 3 announcements. Nothing more complicated than snooping and spending WAY too much time on this forum:)
-
i just looked and there are a few NOA2 reports this morning. Is this a fluke or are they really getting after it all of a sudden?? One end of July and one August 10th. I hope to see a lot more of those updates today. Congrats to all of you who are making progress.
-
I invite you to visit the USCIS service center forum. Please see the thread " how many supporters are here"
I don't see a forum on USCIS. Can you put a link up for it???

All us CSC people are waiting patiently for an update. They are 8 months out and holding! Who on VJ will be the first person to see the update? I was wondering though...do you think that some of the people on Igor's K1 list have maybe changed their minds..done CR1 or K3? or in the worst scenario given up. Seems many people haven't updated timelines and maybe just fell off the map or dare say...broken up! If there is anything to show true love and dedication it is this journey...imagine having to prove it after all this!
I am wondering the same thing. I saw people who applied early in 2012 and still have not received NOA2. There are lots of them. It would be nice to have them removed from the list if they are no longer actively seeking a K1 visa... not that it helps us but it does make the list look a bit shorter. We did call our congressman today. We are still under 5 months but we called about the delay in process. The fellow who answered asked pertinent relevant questions and said he will get back to us. Maybe a whole bunch of politicians can get the ball rolling... maybe.

This is another issue we need to raise in our long litany of complaints. Are they going to make up the processing days? How will the missed work be mitigated? It's not as if they are not already hopelessly backlogged. This is another example of the lack of accountability that we need to be urgently addressing in any way we can. That we just idly by and say "be patient" and "there is nothing you can do" are useless platitudes. Action needs to be taken and now.
What would "action" look like exactly? My fiance is calling his congressman today. We are just under 5 months since application but he is calling about all the issues and delays. Is the that best "action" we can do??? Any thoughts?
Questions about the Vancouver Consulate.
in Canada
Posted
Hi there... It seems based on current CSC processing that we might see an N0A2 in the not too distant future. I have a few questions:
1) How long did it take (recently) for Vancouver to receive your papers after you received notice that your N0A2 had been granted?
2) I've been told on the forum scheduling of the interview is quite fast in Vancouver.. one poster said 3 days. Does anybody else have thoughts on this?
3) In Vancouver how long does it generally take from your interview to receiving your visa, assuming all goes well?
4) I can't get my vaccination records. They don't exist in the Alberta system. How is this dealt with?
5) Does my 17 year old daughter need a criminal background check?? (I have her vaccination records.)
6) What is the "general" total time between N0A2 and receiving your Visa if Vancouver is your consulate?
My daughter has an athletic scholarship waiting for her if I can get my visa approved by August. When we applied in November that seemed likely. Not it seems really stressful.
Thank you for your help. Sorry for all the questions.
