Hi All,
Anyone ever used US Refugee Travel Document entering Singapore? Do they accept it?
Pls adv.
Thank you.
This the email from Singapore CG, San Francisco:
"The Immigration & Checkpoints Authority in Singapore has reverted. The Travel Document in Lieu of a Passport is not recognised as a valid document for entry into Singapore. To visit Singapore, you will need an Indonesian passport valid for at least 6 more months beyond your last day of intended stay in Singapore, confirmed onward/return ticket, valid visa to your next destination (if one is needed) and sufficient funds for the duration of your stay in Singapore.
Best regards,
Xxxxx Xxx

That will be fine as far as US immigration is concerned. You have two more agencies to worry about: The immigration control of the country you wish to visit, and the airline. Make sure both of those are happy with the documents you have, and you're good to go.

Thank you for the swift reply

Hi All,
Could I (travel to Asia for a couple of weeks and) re-enter USA using my GC n Travel Document in Lieu of Passport from my country (not US refugee Travel Document). I had gone to USCIS office in person, asked them the same question, but the officer refered me to CBP #, which I called, n the lady said, "All I need to re-enter USA is my GC, nothing else".
Anyone has done this before?
Pls advise.
Thank you very much.

Today's posting on USCIS My Case Status: On Dec 14, 2012, we mailed you a notice.....
How come my case status went back to "Decision" while yesterday it said "Card/ Document production".
Anyone had this similar case?
-
Did you have an interview?
If you have not yet had an interview then it's likely what has been ordered is the card production of your EAD.
Forget to add more info, I got my EAD back in late 2011, I'm expecting our greencards.
Thx Hypnos

Hi All,
I'm adjusting my status i485, but since I received my NoA1, Sep 10 till yesterday, my case status on USCIS website was saying, "...case not found, please call customer service...".
And suddendly today, it says "Card/ Document Production, on Dec 13, 2012, we order production.....".
Biometric was done late Oct.
So is that mean I should receive my green card soon, within 60 days? Cos I read, many VJers had this kind of notification on USCIS My Case Status a few times before the actual card production happened.
Please advise.
Thx.

AoS based on asylum is showing as a 4 month processing time on the USCIS site.
You should expect the process to be concluded around the end of this year, based upon that timeline.
Thx Hypnos.

Hi All,
Could someone help me with the steps of Application of AoS, at what stage am I in and what to expect after biometrics?
AoS based on Asylum
Aug 27, 2012 - i485 package sent
Aug 29, 2012 - package delivered (USPS)
Sep 10, 2012 - NoA 1
Sep 27, 2012 - NoA 2 for biometrics
Oct 25, 2012 - Biometrics appointment
??? - Decision???
??? - GC in hand???
???
I've been checking online on USCIS website, under my case status, but nothing showed yet.
How long should I wait for decision, GC in hand? I understand nothing is exact about the processing time, but approximately time is fine, so I can feel at ease a little bit.
Thank you.

I'm not sure how else you can interpret "Fee waiver approved" other than it being an approval of your fee waiver request.
Guess it is, hah!!!
:D
Since many mentioned it's almost impossible, that's why i just wanna make sure, haven't break this news to my wife either.
Many thx Hypnos.

It says "Fee waiver approved." I would take it at its word.
Thx CC90

Hi All VJ-ers,
Hope you don't mind me for reposting this question again, I need help on NoA that I received:
Pictures attached below.
First top left column says "NOTICE TYPE: Fee Waiver Approved",
and on the "PAYMENT INFORMATION, Total Balance Due is $0.00", does it mean my fee waiver has been approved?
I understand this isn't approval letter of AoS but just notification of fee waiver.
All inputs highly appreciated.
Thx
Kenny

Do you have the document scanned and on your computer?
Yes, the docs has been scanned and in my computer. I tried the insert image button, but it doesn't work.
pls adv.
Thx
-
It sounds like it but fee waiver is uncommon and I don't think many people (or possibly any) on this board have seen an approved fee waiver in person. If you're able to scan it or take a picture of it (and remove identifying info of course) someone might be able to tell you with more certainty. Otherwise I would call USCIS and ask.
Hi Ceadsearc,
could you advise me how to upload photo of the I-979C that I received onto this thread/ page?
Thx
Kenny
-
I apologize, I completely misread your post the first time.
Moomin, it's my bad for didn't feed you guys with all the infos that I have.
This thread has been very helpful.
Thx all
-
zero balance due just means that you don't owe USCIS anything, and your balance is zero dollars.
You waived the fee. That has nothing to do with getting your AOS approved**, it just means that they will be processing it and when time comes, a decision will be made. Then you'll receive more info or instructions on what to do.
It's i797 by the way.
**Well, some people can't waive the fee of the AOS depending on what you're adjusting from, and in that case, the case would most likely be rejected.
Hi All,
I received i979C yesterday, could anyone please enlight me about this notification?
First top left column says "NOTICE TYPE: Fee Waiver Approved", does it mean my fee waiver has been approved? And on the "PAYMENT INFORMATION, Total Balance Due is $0.00"
Please advise, I appreciated it very much.
The above copy-paste is my original posting. I understand that form I-979C, Notice of Action (I've the copy with me, not I-797, but I-797C with "C") or NOA1 is just a notice from USCIS side. It doesn't mean that my AoS has been approved. My question is about my fee waiver, does it mean I got the fee waived for that specific application?
Many Thx Guys
:D
Kenny

Ahh, okay. Then I can tell you it is possible that they accepted your fee waiver, but I don't know what that waiver would look like. The I-797 is just the form # of the notices they send to you about updates on the case. They are also called Notice of Action, or NOA.
Harpa Timsah,
thx again for the info, my i979C is NOA 1, would I also get NOA 2 later?
Anyone, pls help with my NOA 1:
First top left column says "NOTICE TYPE: Fee Waiver Approved", does it mean my fee waiver has been approved?
And on the "PAYMENT INFORMATION, Total Balance Due is $0.00"
Thx
Kenny

I-485 is impossible to get a fee waiver unless you are filing through VAWA or as an asylee. If you don't tell people what you are applying for they can't help you very much.
Harpa Timsah,
Yep, AoS based on Asylee. So what does the i-979 mean? Pls advise.
Thx
Rgds,
Kenny
Trouble at Canada border
in Working & Traveling During US Immigration

We are GC holder too, been to Vancouver, BC twice, last X-mas n Jan 2013. We drove to BC from WA, only GC was needed, when we entered Canada n when we headed back to US. But it is a good idea to have your passport with you.
