  1. Do you want an answer correct for London or Manila or maybe Juarez. All consulates are different. Your UK specific info is in the UK forum. Try this answer http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/350185-london-2012-k1s-from-noa2-to-interview-thread/page__view__findpost__p__5137390

Because you know London has the file logged, you can get started sending the application forms.

Sorry about that. Thanks for the link and info. So is it better to send the DS2001 off a few days after the forms?

  2. I called the DOS on Friday to check whether the London Embassy had received our case and they have. I have a few questions. I have my medical booked for 8th March. Obviously i haven't received the packet 3 info from the embassy yet as they only got the case on Friday.

I don't have to wait for the Embassy to mail me packet 3 link, right? As long as they have my file i can go ahead and send all my forms?

I have DS-230 Part 1 filled out. Part 2 is blank.

    DS-156 & DS-157. Two Copies of each.

    DS-156K.

Do i send the DS2001 and cover letter at the same time as all the other forms?

  3. With regards to question 30-List below all places you have lived for at least six months since reaching the age of 16, including places in your country of nationality. Begin with your present residence.

Up until last October i was travelling. I was in Sydney for 8 months, Melbourne for 3 months,Asia for 2 months, USA 3 months. It asks for places over 6 months. Obviously if i leave gaps it looks suspicious. How would i fill this question out? Thanks

  4. We were the same as you. We did not want to be apart no matter what after spending 15 months together travelling. You're looking at least 10 months at the moment the rate they are processing visas. We are in our 7th month and just received our NOA2 last week.

The only option you have if you want to stay together is to stay in each others countries on tourist visas. I went to the US for 90 days after we finished travelling and now she is here with me for 6 months until all of this is done with. I am working to support us both.

  5. Hi all,

My fiancée and I have been researching online regarding the sponsorship accepted at the London Embassy and there's a lot of conflicting information regarding if they will accept two sponsors, or just one, and if that just one sponsor has to be my U.S. citizen fiancée (the person in the best position to be my sponsor is my fiancée's mother). We also haven't clarified if my fiancée definitely has to fill out the 1-384. Our situation is that because we have been travelling since May 2011, my fiancée does not have tax returns since filing for her 2010 returns in 2011. :help: Our travelling history is such: in May 2011 I had spent a month in the U.S. with my fiancée at her family's house and we were now travelling together onward to Australia on working holiday visas. We left Australia in May 2012 for Asia until July 2012, when we headed back to the U.S. for three months (my 90 day allotment) to see her family, and then we came back together to the UK where we have been since October 2012 (luckily the UK allows her to stay for 6 months). Since she has no job as of now, and has no tax returns, is she still required to fill out the I-384 or can we rely on her mother's finances instead? I should also add that before we headed off travelling, she worked at a restaurant for 5 years where she can easily get a job again at any restaurant branch due to her skill level and positive relationships with present employees and managers, if this makes a difference. We have a joint Australian account and also my English account where we have over USD$10,000 combined and she owns a car back in the U.S. that is paid off which is probably worth USD$7,500. We can transfer our funds, if necessary, to her U.S. bank account before the interview.

  6. Congrats! it's nice to see another CSC filler approved. Did you ask your representative for help?

    Thanks everyone.

No. We actually contacted them and they sent us all the forms to fill out last week. We hadn't had chance to fill them out yet though. I'm not really sure it would have done anything anyway. I think it's just a case of you having to do something to stop yourself from going insane with the ridiculous wait. Feel like you're actually doing something.

  7. Check the requirements carefully. Kiev required a police certificate for any country in which you lived for more than 6 months.

I can assure you if your visa is witheld because you did nto spend the $99 or get fingerprints, you will WISH you had. This process is a hassle, get used to it. Any time you can avoid a problem for the low, low price of $99...jump on it.

I checked the requirements. Here it advises from the US embassy ...

Police Certificates: Required for all countries where you have lived for more than 12 months since the age of 16. Present and former residents of the United States should NOT obtain any police certificates covering their residence in the U.S. Please follow this link for further information.

I am going to get it anyway. I found the link online for which police station to go to. I just hope they can electronically take my prints and i dont have to have them taken by ink, then send them via mail.

  8. Hi,

We are still waiting to hear back on the NOA2 but trying to get everything ready. With regards to the police reports from countries you have lived in over 12 months. I had a working holiday visa and i was in Australia for two days short of a year. Is this classed as under or over 12 months?

I'm obviously trying to avoid having to get a police report from Australia as it costs $99 and they require fingerprints which seems like a huge hassle.

If it is required, does anyone have any experience of getting one and what's the fastest way?

    Thanks
