  1. I don't think it will delay you. Tell them when you get there and offer the corrected copy to the interviewer. I bet lots of people have put their NHS number in that blank before.

Nich-NICK..... thanks for all of your responses on my posts.... your insight is comforting to say the least... and priceless due to that...

    Thanks again

  2. Hi all,

My fiance hasn't received packet 3 in the mail yet (our petition just left NVC on Monday 9/24) but we have our new case number from the NVC. Can he fill out DS156 online with just our LND number or does he need wait until we receive packet 3? Thanks!!

My fiance and I are London filers.... Waiting on an interview date... there is no packet three in the mail anymore I hear... my fiancee did not receive one here in UK... there is only a webpage with instructions.... http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html ... this page will tell you all you need to know. You can fill out DS-156 online, but then press the continue button and print out the completed form (do not print the form that you fill out, but rather the form that shows after pushing continue). The completed form will have a generated barcode. That is the one you want to print... don't forget to print duplicates. The form does not actually send to the embassy online as far as I know. It is for you to send in with your DS-230, DS-156, DS-156K, DS-157, DS-2001, and cover letter. These are the only documents you send embassy through the mail

  3. Hi, I posted this in K-1 forum earlier, but I think this is a better place for my question....

I already sent my DS-230, DS-156, DS-156k, DS-157, DS-2001, and cover letter to the London Embassy... Today I realized that the question on the DS-156 form in regards to the "NATIONAL IDENTIFICATION NUMBER" was filled incorrectly.... When filling out the form previously we put my Fiancees National Insurance Number instead.... :bonk: .... Thankfully I figured that the polish PESEL number is her "NATIONAL IDENTIFICATION NUMBER"... I refilled the form and reprinted it in duplicate as is required, but I need to know if I can simply bring the revised DS-156 forms to the interview with me to remedy this??? ... or do I need to send it... My concern is the generated barcode on this form... Will they figure out this mistake when entering this info into their system, and will it potentially delay our interview date, or will they allow my fiancee to give them the revised versions at the interview?

Does anybody that interviewed at US embassy in London have any experience with filling out a form improperly and being called out on it?

Please help... I am stressing out  that one little mistake is going to delay our process even more while waiting for our interview date....

    thanks for your help/advice/experiences

  4. Hi everyone.... I just found out some information that may/may not affect our visa journey in some way... on the DS156 I wrote in my fiancees "National insurance number" in section 14 that asks for "National identification number", which is not something that even applies to her!!! I have already sent this in to US embassy in London with the other forms including the DS-2001...Since it is an online form with the special barcode I am hesitant to fill it out again with the proper info and send it in or have her take the revised copy with her to interview.... Does anybody have any insight into whether or not it is ok to fill this form out again with the proper info on that one question, or is the form sent electronically with new bar code when you do? Will it interfere in any way with our submitted form? Will it interfere with our process at all?

    Thanks

  5. Hi I am finishing up my I-134 for my Fiancee to take to her interview in London...

    some background...

my income comes from a industrial/commercial property in CA that I own and manage (50/50) with my sister. Sometime after the financial crisis in 2008 we lost our long time tenants. Our building was vacant for a year. in January 2011 we were fortunate enough to rent it out again, but we took no personal income from it in order to rebuild emergency funds that we depleted while we had no tenants, pay real estate brokers, and to make improvements to the building. Starting in january of this year(2012) we started to take personal income again. I have proof of consistent income from january through the present time in the form of bank statements and property managers statements which show money coming in and where it goes... It will show that I am to be payed 30k+ this year and for the remainder of the lease agreement from current tenant. There is a business account under our business name that shows a substantial amount as well in place for emergencies regarding the building (all of which is accessible personally by my sister and I should the need arise)... lastly I have a personal savings of approx. 20k. The building itself is worth a substantial amount with a minimal mortgage.... The property as an asset alone should put me in the clear as far as the affidavit of support form.

    So my question is:

If i was to not hand in a personal W2, but include the following documents, should my fiancee be ok as far as the interview goes?

    1. show my current proof of income showing 30k potential for this year and the remainder of the lease

2.my current savings account with $20k

3.my current business account with $30k

4.proof of ownership of building (as an asset)

    5. reputable real estate brokers estimated opinion of value statement for the property

    6. the businesses tax return for 2011 showing consistent income despite my sister and I not taking personal income from it in 2011

    7. property managers notarized letter with signature stating the accuracy of provided documents from her about buildings income and my sister and I's personal income(she has been with us for 10 years)

I know its a lot of info, and that is exactly my worry.... I dont want to hand in too much, but I dont want to include too little either.... I am so very confident about everything else I have done in preparation for this but this is stressing me out.... the CO is not expected to be an accomplished accountant as well!!! haha!!!

anyhow any insight is very much appreciated! Thank you in Advance!

  6. as a side note to my pee wees big adventure quote..... when I was about 20 yrs old, a bunch of friends and I were headed to the colorado river.... on our way we stopped in to the diner next to the dinosaurs that were in the movie... my friend couldn't wait to be a funny guy and went up to the cashier at the front counter and said "I've got just one thing to say..." before he could finish the cashier said " let me guess... Large marge sent you?" haha !!! My buddy lowered his head and sadly said "yeah". .... too funny..... guess we werent the first to think that would be hilarious!!! :)

  7. I used a lawyer for the I-129 petition.... he was a good guy..... but as someone said on here earlier its probably an assistant filling it out anyhow! ... I wish I didnt use one though.... I was in a hurry and he wasnt.... as others said as well The lawyers have you fill out forms with all the info anyhow, and then fill out the real forms with that info... visa journey site along with the form examples on here would have saved me a lot of money and I would have had the application in to USCIS a month earlier or more than the lawyer submitted it... I do recommend filling the forms out on you computer in PDF format though.... that way if you fill out a section improperly you can just change it without filling in the whole form by hand again... It also looks much cleaner when typed as opposed to handwritten... I declined to use the lawyer any longer once we received our NOA2. That is when I realized that I could have done the whole thing myself in the first place.... Just be thorough and make sure you understand what you are filling in.... It feels good to know that you have an understanding of the process as you go along rather than just being confused when your lawyer tries to explain. Visa journey is really a great site.... read up and do it yourself..... save the money for the lawyer! you will need it for something else along the way! guaranteed! haha! good luck! keep asking questions and you will be fine!

  8. Hi everyone... I have just received the final instructions link from the embassy after paying my fee and sending in all required documents. My Fiancee has also completed medical... everything was supposed to be in place as far as I was concerned and then upon reading the final instructions i get this excerpt from their web page:

"Translations: All documents not in English must be accompanied by certified English translations. The translation must include a statement signed by the translator that state that the translation is accurate, and sworn to before a Notary Public."

everything I had read before simply said certified translations required in english for all documents in other languages... I had her birth cert translated in the US by a reputable company, her polish police certificate translated in Poland by a translator registered with the ministry of justice in poland, and I am just sending off her police cert from Italy when I encountered the above quote!!!!! I am about to explode!!!! these translations arent cheap by any means... around $100 us except for the one I had done in Poland..... Now it seems I may have to do this all over again! My issue being that they werent seemingly sworn to by a notary public!

can anyone tell me their experiences with translations and the US embassy in London???????

    Thank you in advance

  9. Hi... there was no appointment needed, however you do take a number when there.... we happened to be travelling to Italy, so while in Florence we went to the Palazzo di Giustizia to criminal records department... wasnt a long wait, but remember they close at 130 i think for an hour or an hour and a half. and then reopen again.. While there my fiancee filled out the form while waiting (she can speak, read and write italian) . then she gave them a stamped envelope to mail the info back to us. The thing you need to remember when paying in person is that you need some sort of stamp/sticker to pay the fees for the certificates with... you go to a tobacco shop or something similar and pay for these stamps which list the value on them. Not sure of the amount, but it's not very much... 14 euros I think... we received the certificate in London approx. 1 week later. we were frustrtated that they wouldnt give us the other document, because there is ALWAYS something to complicate things right?!?!?!! haha! hope this helps

  10. Hi... my Fiancee Is from Poland and currently residing in the United Kingdom. She spent a total of about 4 years in Italy (Florence and Rimini).... we went to Italy a couple weeks ago, and while there we went to request her police certificate and "the Certificato Generale del Casellario Giudiziale." We received the police certificate with no problems, but they said they could not issue her the "Certificato Generale del Casellario Giudiziale" because she was never an official resident and never took out a loan or credit card for example.... I dont even think she was on a lease contract for the flats she lived in...... she did work though at a few places....... This cert is to show that she has no outstanding debt or bankruptcy etc... has anybody had any experience with this? any help would be appreciated because the US embassy website says that this form is required from people who have resided in Italy for longer than 12 months.... thank you for any responses

  11. Hi everyone. I have been reading all over the United Kingdom and k1 forums for the answer to this question, but now I fear I have read tooooooo much. haha! Because the answers say so many different things... In my cover letter I explained that we would like an october interview date because I (US petitioner) plan to fly back here to London on november 8th to fly to Poland (hopefully soon after I arrive) to visit my fiancees family before we leave for the US. She had her medical on september 11th and so everything needed by embassy should be in place. With that being said, my questions are as follows:

    1. My packet 3 and DS-2001 forms were received today by the embassy in London. I know this because I had them signed for. I am so confused as to when my Fiancees interview date will be set because there are so many answers from so many different dates during this year that appear on these threads.... is there anybody that has recent experience with the London Embassy that can relay their experience between the Embassy receiving these forms, and having their interview date set.

    2. Also can you please share your recent experiences/knowledge about how far out the interview date is/was from the point they received their interview date. I have seen people say 1 week or one month+... I have also seen people that claimed to get the interview date they requested?

Any answers are appreciated.... thanks in advance

  12. I just called police check division of Australian Federal Police.... i was #32 in the que with an estimated hold time of 36 minutes!!!!! not going to be cheap calling from the UK!!!! Damn!!! did this happen to you guys when you called? "Vanessa&Tony" how did you request the police check to be expedited?...over the phone or with some sort of paperwork???? (please explain the process if you know any details)..... I am wanting to send this out in the morning (tuesday here in UK) (I am in London for a few months) but don't know if I should without knowing how to handle the "expedite request" .... Any response is appreciated... thank you!!!

    Dan

  13. I must admit, that this is way better news than I expected..... I will call for sure... thanks so much for your responses!.... It's funny in a way because I am an optimist ... I try and keep a good attitude towards things no matter what, even if my frustration gets the best of me at first I settle down and my good attitude returns... In this situation my attorney told me to expect 5 months minimum and likely more... I had accepted this as fact and was ready to deal with it and instead our NOA2 arrived and our application was sent through NVC to London embassy in less than 3 months... before I had even been able to make arrangements for police certificates etc (we needed 4 of them:Poland, Italy, Australia, and UK)... so suddenly after we got NOA2 i felt that we would still need another 2 months because of Australias time frame.... But optimism pays off once again!!!!!! Thanks again for your responses..... This is great news!!!!

  14. Anyone here ever had any luck with expediting an australian police cert? My fiance and I recieved our NOA2 in just less than 3 months..... good news right?!?!.... well almost... I am sending in all our info and fingerprints to Australian Federal Police on monday, and the estimated wait time for processing is 30 business days.... so 6 weeks.... it kind of puts us back on the old schedule :( ... anyhow I was wondering if anybody has requested police cert from Australia, and if it came quicker than 6 weeks or if they managed to have it expedited by paying a higher fee.....

thanks in advance for any responses!

  15. I must say... trust your "GUT INSTINCT" ..... It usually wont fail you.... all the proof you need is your intuition.... there is no other "PROOF" so to speak... 7 denied tourist visa's has even got my gut telling me his intentions aren't "PURE"... That's a lot of failures, and a K1 seems like the only option for him after so many desperate attempts.... how did you meet? online?

  16. My Polish Fiancee applied 8 months ago for tourist visa to the US... at that time she was solely intending to visit her sister who is a doctor in New york for 2 weeks and to come visit me which wasnt even mentioned in her application and so wasnt an issue to the CO... She has been in London for 6 years and has a GREAT job she has held for over 2 years.... She has no strong family ties here in London because they are in Poland , and owns no property....but at the time had every intention of returning... she had a detailed letter from her work that stated her income and that they fully believed that she would return.... she had a letter from her sister stating her intentions to stay for 2 weeks with her in her flat in new york and that she would pay for her return home if money became an issue... so basically I am saying she was fully prepared for the interview and felt the same way as your friend...meaning that she was sure that she had no issues..... so when she went to her interview the officer asked her a couple questions and cut her off within 3 minutes into the interview by saying your application has been denied.... you do not have strong enough ties to this country or Poland and I do not believe you intend to return..... That was that.... I believe like the person above said, that if she is young there is way to big of a chance of her finding a US citizen to marry and never returning.... not that they think she is, but rather that it is extremely possible... I contacted Lawyers and did research and all that I found was that this is what you should expect as a polish citizen.... there is ongoing efforts in the states to get Poland into the Visa Waiver program, but it is far from happening....

I hate to say it, but I do not believe your friend is going to be accepted the second time around..... especially if nothing has changed..... one lawyer I spoke to stated that she shouldnt even try again for at least a year.... So basically I came here to London instead and 5 months later we applied for a Fiance visa after we decided to get married..... even this process takes a long time..... sorry to hear this happened... I know the frustration is huge, and she must be pretty pissed and disappointed...... good luck though.... I did hear that the us embassy in warsaw is the best bet!
