  1. My fiancée just went through the interview alone. After the DS160 were submitted I took a guess and went back a month after in December to go with her.....but unfortunately they delayed our case and we did not get a interview date until April. She passed but they were tough....asking like 50ish questions.

I think as long as your relationship are real, your husband has nothing to worry about...just answer from the heart and he will pass the interview. Your being there will not make the interview any easier, except for his emotional support.

  2. what does the pink or blue slip have anything to do with the interview? it's harder? more question?

The theory is that they already determined that you passed or require additional evidence ahead of time and the computer generated a bunch of questions designed to test your honesty. The interview is just a formality, a final screening to make sure all answers matches. They will ask the questions that the computer generated.

If your file had a pink page, it means they already passed you and just doing the interview as a final screening to make sure everything matches. So if your fiancée see this, he.she can relax and go through the interview with less stress/ anxiety.

If there is a blue page, you will need to submit more evidence on top of the interview.

  3. I emailed them a pdf copy right after I got a case number (HCMXXXX) and had the original notarized copy with my fiancee at time of interview. They took the original timeline, read it and put it in the file and proceeded with the interview.

  4. hi anh chi em :) do we need to an appointment letter to make a medical examination??? I wanna do the exam while im waiting for my case completed..

Yes you do! You need the receipt that show payment for the DS-160 and an appointment letter in order to get a medical exam,

  5. Yes , Oanh and that girl hugged and wished each other the very best. I believe your fiance was sitting right there with us. She is a very nice person.

    Small world :)

  6. Congrats OP! My fiancee was hanging out with some one named Oanh while waiting for the interview....Could that be your fiancee'? They hugged after my fiancee' passed the interview and yours was still waiting and said bye to each other.

I think this forum just like any other forum contains both good and badinformation. It's up to the individual to weed out the negative and keep the positive. I got plenty of help from Pete82. :)

  7. Hello all,

We passed the interview today. It was very tough, according to my fiancee. They drilled her with some thing like 50 questions. Here are some that my fiancee remembered:

How long did you know each other?

    How did you meet?

    When did you meet?

Give us the whole date, month and year when you met.

What method did you use to communicate with each other?

How often to you talk to one another?

    Does your fiancée have kids?

Why did you want to meet him if you know he has kids?

    Did you meet his kids?

Do you talk to his kids?

    Do they like you?

    Do you have kids?

How many times did your fiancé visit you?

    How long did he stay?

What did you do on first visit?

When did he propose to you?

Did you say yes immediately ?

    What is your fiancée name?

    Where does he live?

    Where does he work?

What is his job title? Describe his work?

    Does he have a house?

Who does your fiancée live with?

Have you ever left Vietnam to go visit another country or for school?

Did you apply for a student visa before?

How many time Did you apply for a student visa?

When Did you apply for a student visa?

So you were determined not qualified for a student visa, is that why you wanted to date your fiancée so you can come to the US with a K1?

Do you know that you have to marry within 90 days? Do you intend to? Read and sign this paper (their own paper form version of the letter of intent)

So you have relatices in the US? Do you plan to come and live with them instead of living with your husband?

You said you met online. Did you go online specifically with the intent of looking for a husband in the US so that you can migrate there?

Did your husband go to college?

What is his major in college?

    Where does your fiancée live?

Was your fiancee born in the US?

When did your fiancée come to the US?

I took Pete82 advice and told my fiancee to be in the look out for a pink slip or blue slip during the interview. She looked and saw the pink slip in her file folder on the way to the interview window. That helped relax her a bit and allowed her to answer the questions better. She still messed up once when they asked her when I came to the US.....for some reason she had the mental block and said the wrong year....she said 1987 instead of 1980 . After what seemed like eternity, it came back and she said sorry to the interviewer that she is too nervous that she said the wrong thing and the lady there smiled understandingly and said OK. We lucked out here, I guess.

This lady is pretty friendly. She was very pleasant the entire interview. She laughed when my fiancee said she cried for a long time when I proposed and when my fiancee said she loved to rub my beer belly because I am like " Ông Địa" aka fat budda and rubbing my beer belly gave her luck. When she asked my fiancee what drawn her to my profile in Vietnamcupids, my fiancee told her it was because of my posted picture of me and my kids. My kids are super cute and I had a kind face. The she showed the interviewer the picture...the interviewer looked at it and actually said wow and agreed that my kids are cute and smile. That is the only picture she looked at. My fiancee brought about 500 pictures and 700 pages of Yahoo chat log, facetime logs, skype logs, receipts and all the evidence (15 lbs worth) and the lady did not want to see any of it. She just waved her hads and said no when my fiancee tried to submit them through the window. I think our file was already approved and the lady there was just asking the specific questions designed to test our relationship. We passed because our relationship is genuine and not fake. They did made my fiancee sign their own paper form version of the letter of intent even though my fiancee submitted new updated letter of intent for both of us.

At the end of the interview she said she is sorry for drilling my fiancee so hard, it is because of the new immigration policy/initiative to weed out all the fakers then told my fiancee she is keeping her passport and to expect 10 days for visa to be delivered in the mail.

Now a load off our chest, we are ready to begin a new life together...Any one have a good leads on cheap tickets? :)

  8. Thanks OP. Your post is super helpful, as always. Congratulations on the approval and best of luck for a happy life together forever :)

I am waiting until Apr 2 until I hear mine....uuggghhh.

We are interviewing on April 2nd too. Good luck jerezblk :)

  9. OK thank you all for the replies. I guess I need to clarify some points. I followed the guideline on this website which included the cover page. Right now I have the PO BOX listed on all my documents... do I need to redo them with my apartment's address so that they can have my physical address even though I don't get mail here?

I have over 1200 pictures of us from my 5 trips to VN. Printed, I only have 50. How many should I include in the package?

Last time I sent my fiance a visa debit card through Fedex Express and it took over a month for her to get it. It was just sitting at some office in Hanoi for over a week ...nobody gave us any form of notification.... and when she actually picked it up... the envelope (the folder type) had been opened and inspected. Is EMS used by the USPS?

I was thinking about including my college transcript because I havent worked in previous years because I was in college. I just started work in December 2013. This might be an issue with the i-134 so i wanted to have some explanation/evidence on file.

I believe PO box address is fine. If you want to prove residence you can include utility bills.

I had tons of pics just like you. I used the photo collage software free from the web to paste like 6-10 pictures into an 8x10 and printed it out at the local drug store (Walgreen). In my submission, I included about 10-12 pages of photo collage, totalling about selected 120 pics. Then I do the same thing with the screen capture of yahoo video chats ....about 3 pages of 15 sessions of video chats. Text chats I printed random pages totalling to about 30 pages of text chats. Then all the phone bills, used phone cards, etc..were all included. I also wrote to my fiancee via post office and receive her reply via snail mail. All those were included as well.

EMS is ran by the post office aka USPS. I have good experience with them. They always come through in about 1-2 weeks.

You don't need college transcript. They are not requiring you to prove your income at this time. I-134 won't be needed until near interview time. You can gather your evidence now but I would focus on the 100% complete I-129F first. The last thing you want is receiving a letter requesting for additional evidence. It will delay your file a great deal.

  10. Include a cover leter like this:

    new york, New york 11011

United States Department of Homeland Security

    U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services

    Dallas, TX 75266

    April 9, 2013

Nature of the submission: I-129F ORIGINAL SUBMISSION

    To Whom It May Concern:

    Sincerely,

    Your Name

  11. My fiancee already had the 3 shots for hepatitis (sp?) so she only needed 2 more shots plus blood drawn. I think they checked for AIDS and other contagious deseases with the blood. After that they gave her the yellow card to bring to Choray...we brought it there and waited for about an hour and they gave us 2 sealed packages (not to be opened according to them) and some papers. Glad that it is over. So if you never had hepatitis shots you will need to go there twice , approx. one week apart.

Choray is supposed to be the better of the two facilities. That's why they are usually more crowded. They have better machines . If xrays or other tests were inconclusive at IOM they would have to refer us to Choray for more diagnostics. The doc that examined my fiancee was a female doctor....I think female doctor examine female client and so forth.

  12. My fiancee just went for the medical examination this morning. Yup, she had to strip naked for them to exam her....100% naked, not even panties were allowed on.

She went to Choray....we called both places and IOM is booked, only had date at the end of march/ early april. We lucked out with Choray and got our appointment is on 3/12. Our appointment for interview is on April 2nd.

She told me that all the peole she met told her that the immunization shots will be done 2 times, a week apart instead of all at once. So go to Nguyen Van Troi place ASAP and get the shots done. Without the shots, you don't get the yellow card and they won't release the medial exam results without it. They also told her after you finished the shots and got the yellow papers, you go back to either IOM / choRay to hand it in and they will give you another appointment to pickup the medical exam results. She went to get the shots yesterday, but they gave her a number and told her to come back in 2 days....so they are pretty booked as well. Tomorrow she will go to get the shots.

  13. new process is up

Thanks Pete82 for your detailed instruction on hte new process. We are now booked for April 2nd, 14. That bring total wait time since P3 to about 5 months, sucks but we are thankful for the new system and to finally having seen light at the end of the tunnel. Cảm ơn nhiều :)
