  1. If it weren't for you guys having a baby together, probably the CO would of denied you for suspicion of the validity of your relationship, due to the name mispelling and the how do you support your family thing. But since you have a baby together, and what better proof of a legitimate relationship is that, the CO puts in to question the paternity of the child. Since the name isn't on the BC then a DNA test will be done. After that approved! My guess

  2. This to me is a red flag. You don't need the dad to be there to put his name on the certificate nor you have to marry to put his name there. Honestly your case should be OK. If I were you I would do the DNA test now just in case.

Also if you don't meet the income requirement they might deny your application hence why she asked you many times where did you get the money to buy the tickets.

Sorry to hear your situation. I believe you will be ok. Since you are currently living with your husband and family in DR, there is no stress in the wait I guess. It will just be a matter of time until he is approved.

I actually somewhat agree with the above quote. When you have the baby at a hospital in the US, NJ to be more accurate, and the father is not present you just have to inform them what the first and last name of father is and then last name will be given to the baby. However, the name of the father will not appear. Odd but I'm a witness to it.

  3. Ladies and gentlemen waiting for interviews for the Dominican Republic. I just got off the phone with NVC and was told that they received a notification minutes ago that all February scheduling is complete for Santo Domingo and they will begin to schedule March interviews the second week of February. Do not know how much is 100% accurate. Again this is what the rep I spoke to informed me..

Im content with that. Id rather know now that space is full for feb than to be waiting for a date anxiously.. on to march.. God knows why he does things the way he does.. Im still grateful that Ive made it this far with my mind still in tacked..

  4. Tried calling NVC just now and was told by some lady there system are down due to no power and was only able to answer general questions! Great!

Same here.. I also called and was told of a power outage... :crying: More delays!!

Called DOS and date has not been scheduled yet!! Im really going to cry..

  5. Sorry to hear this bad news... I hope you have moved on to bigger and better things...

Just a thought.. If you haven't cancelled the petition and its a K-1 visa, wouldn't it be sitting somewhere in the Dominican embassy? Waiting for whatever action on your part? In my opinion, that spells out big problems for him and his new wife, and also for you if you ever petition again.

  6. So I'm wondering if they might schedule hubby yet this week? I got an email from the NVC this morning saying the case is complete BUT the DHL tracking says the paperwork was picked up on the 9th, which means it left the embassy on the 9th? The 8th? Now I'm not sure what my actual case complete date is, because 1/9 is the "left NVC" date.

I'm not sure whether this week or next week they will schedule dates, that is what we are all wondering. But I can tell you this... Just because you received the e-mail today saying that the case is complete, does not mean that it was completed today. The completion date is known by calling a NVC representative and asking. My case was complete on the 13th of Dec. and I received the e-mail on the 20th, a week later. By the way, how does that DHL tracking work.. Every time I try it shows no results.

  7. I also doubt that interview dates are given all month long because since the 13th of December when my case was closed I kept close watch on the timelines for IR-1/CR-1 visa interview dates for Febrary and there hasn't been any, for ppl registered on this site at least. Not one, unless I'm wrong. K-1 visas, on the other hand, have February interview dates already assigned. Maybe it's a matter of visa type and when NVC and/or the embassy decide to schedule the dates.

  8. Well, I called NVC and was told that they start scheduling interview dates on the 2nd week of January, not necessarily that the interview date will be available this week so call the 3rd week of January  . I just find it odd that many spouse visas with case complete don't have interview dates for February yet.. It must be a NVC hold up. Please keep me informed of any prospects of interview scheduling..

  10. It seems to me that interview dates are usually given after about a two week wait period, depending on when your case was complete.. My case was complete on Dec. 13, 2012 as per an operator at NVC. But today I received a case status update from NVC, telling me that my case was complete for pre-processing and to wait for an interview to be scheduled.. I thought that completion was on the 13th? Not Today! However, I'm guessing that you will receive your interview date later on this month. As for me, I hope it's as soon.. I'm dying over here :(

  11. If your talking about the AOS and/or the DS-230, I guess it depends how the lawyer sent the papers, via express mail or regular mail. If he even sent it at all or on the date that he claims he did. If the lawyer does say he did send the papers, he should be able to give you a tracking number or something. I suppose papers like this of high importance should be tracked in case they get lost. If he is a lawyer he should know this.. However, either via express or regular mail NVC should of received those papers. It has been a long time now since the 16th of Nov.

  12. Hi everybody who is reading this post. I would really appreciate an estimate in time period to calm my nerves. I sent my ds-230 to NVC on Saturday December 1,2012. I sent the package express mail. The mail man told me that the package would arrive today, Monday Dec. 3rd. I just would like to know on average how long does NVC take to complete a case and send it to the embassy if everything goes well. And when and by whom is the interview date given. Is it by the NVC when they complete the case. Or is it by the embassy when they receive it... Thanks so much.
