I went to the embassy in person today and they told me i'm scheduled for January 30, 2014! they said i missed the first schedule they sent me few months ago so they sent another schedule. i didn't got it through my postal mail though. this can be lesson for those of you waiting to be scheduled for the interview. if your waiting time gets longer go and inquire in person.
well i think its a good thing you get another interview date. did they give you the interview paper? if they did they will give you an attachment with the list of forms you need to fill out to take to the interview. i don't know if they will change your interview date or not but i think you should go and ask them just to be sure. and you also need the interview appointment paper to do medical.

i don't really know about the new changes but when i did the interview, i couldn't get anything from the embassy so my finace called NVC and the told him the interview date. so i went to the embassy and ask for the paper. i only had two weeks left for my interview by the time i got it. you need to call the NVC or go to the USA embassy in ethiopia and ask them for your appoitment letter ASAP.

First of all you make a huge and embarrassing mistake by admitting anything online.... With that said the only options from here are to be truthful and honest... Me speaking as a US Citizen (BORN) I can only say that I am very judgmental to those who defy the actual immigration laws even if all of us at one time were immigrants. There is a process and the laws are specific... Follow them and you have at least a leg to stand on, but dancing around the laws or trying to play with them will make it much more painful if you both are serious... First if it is required for him to leave while you go through this process then " So Be It", it is a process and there is a right and wrong way to do this.
There is nothing more offensive as a US Citizen to have to go through this process and have to prove a relationship and that I have or make enough money to support my fiancé. I see day in and day out plenty of US citizens having kids that can not afford them yet, I have to prove that I make enough money only to marry the love of my life... If you really want to know the truth... I suggest you talk to him and if you are serious about your relationship, you need to follow the laws that have been placed regardless of how ridiculous. I will not begin to go through the "HELL" me and my fiancé have been through and trust me if he has been living HIGH on the horse illegally its time that you both were humbled and do it correctly... If Love is the foundation then it wont matter, but by you coming on here to post this "Your Story" publicly you have already sadly made you and his journey more difficult... Time nor Distance never interferes with love.... You all have been playing from state to state, try playing from country to country!
Do it right and be truthful.... It may be painful, but I live by the standard of "The Truth HURTS, but Will Set You FREE"...

am really confused should I fill out the DS-156 form ? if I should is it to be send to the embassy before my interview or should I take it with me on the day of the interview?
the only thing I got from the embassy is a single paper that says my interview date is on august 13, no check list.
if any one get the whole packet , please let me know what there is on the checklist ?

me too . and I thought after noa2, things will go faster !
I got my noa2 in may 28 and NVC already told us they send our paper to the embassy. its just really sad to know that your future is on some strangers hand .

congrats . so happy for you

Yes its too much of a headache especially nearing the end of this whole process. I tried calling the embassy but they would not tell me anything by phone and just kept sending me to email and I had to email so many times and wait 2 to 3 weeks to even get a response. It may have helped when my fiance went to the embassy to inquire about packet 3. They told him they had not received anything from NVC even though it had been a month since the petition was sent to them. I received a response from my email the day after he went so Im thinking that it was because he went in person to inquire.
It looks like your NOA2 was a few weeks after ours so I hope you have better luck with the embassy. I am now worried because the interview date is set so far out its after the validity date on the NOA2. I am afraid the embassy will deny us because it expires on August 1st and his interview is scheduled for August 8th.
i hope they won't make us wait for long. i know they will extend the date automatically , i read it somewhere here so you don't have to worry bout that. God Luck with your interview.

They did not call him as I expected. The embassy has been the most stressful part of the process for us because they not respond. I emailed them with his PO Box number and requested that they send it directly to him. This was after they responded to my first email telling me they would mail packet 3 to me here in the USA since they didn't have his PO Box!
ok so i guess we have to start sending them emails too.
it really is a headache specially when you know you are so close to the end but still have to wait .
-
I am also going through the embassy in Addis Ababa. The embassy in Addis is very slow so I emailed them several times regarding receiving packet 3. It took them over a month from the date our petition was sent from NVC to mail it to my fiance. .
If you email the embassy in Addis be sure and use the ADD case number in the subject line and you will have to email them several times before you receive a response.
can you tell me how they contacted your fiance . did they call her or just send it by p.o.box ?
-
we are at the same stage . and am kind of worried how the embassy will contact me exactly
but until they send to us the list we need to do with the interview date , there is nothing we can do except wait.

we were approved on may 28 and we still didn't here anything too. i guess we still have to play the waiting game.
