    my wife and son interview experience at USEM - 07.12.13
    am so happy like the rest of fellow VJ'ers who got approved!

    sharing to you questions/add'l documents asked for our common reference.

    took them almost 3 hrs at the embassy (630am to 950am); 615am appointment time.

    filipino screener:
    1. name of petitioner
    2. name of beneficiaries and date of birth
    3. new nbi clearance (wife's nbi submitted to nvc will expire aug 2013)
    4. where is our eldest (who is an LPR)
    5. how me and my wife met.
    6. asked for a family picture

    consul:
    1. name of petitioner
    2. any other child aside from our son who is with her.
    3. where is our eldest staying.
    4. did my wife work in any other country.

    ...after that the consul said "congratulations and welcome to US"

    ...had check the visa status just now at CEAC website and status was changed to "ISSUED"

    Hi John,

    I have my name in the birth certificate of my children? Because the American immigration law say's unmarried son's and daughters only( there are no statement I cant have children). I am not still married, I am still qualified. I just had wonderful children that I recognized :D Somebody told me its better to be honest or suffer the consequences in the future, specially when you are applying in this kind of procedure. Always look on the positive side. American law are created equal, it has solution for everyone. This is base on my personal opinion:)

    Don't worry guys! I am on the same situation before.

    I went to US on an F2B petition last 2011, practically the same as most of the F2Bs fromPH having a common law wife and a child while waiting for their priority dateto become current.

    My child surname on the birth certificate was even her mother's surname, justchange it to my surname with an annotation on her BC through RA9255 (law wasnot yet passed when my child was born and was registered)

    The good thing, I am able to bring my child with me (she's 10 yrs old then) asa beneficiary of an F2B petition.

    Sad to say, as expected my common law wife was left behind who was pregnant bythat time to our youngest child.

    ..barely less than a month in US the next good things happened..

    April 2011 – received our green card

    May 2011 – went home to PH and got married

    June 2011 – got a full time job

    July 2011 – filed F2A petition for my wife

    Sept. 2011 – our youngest child was born

    …wife and youngest child F2A journey on my signature

    How to file tax return if spouse is nonresident?

    i filed my 2011 tax return as married filing separately and will do the same for my 2012 tax return. i entered NRA (non resident alien) on my wife SSN.

    if you don't want the hassle of getting ITIN for your spouse to file as married filing jointly, i suggest to just file as married filing separately.

    you just need to send the tax return through mail though. it will take a while to reach IRS but if you're not on a rush to get your refund (if there's any), it worth the wait for a simpler process..

    11 po. JFK po POE namin. Sa sobrang excitement po nung nakalabas na po kami ng airport ko na realize na di po na finger print yung anak ko.

    hi! 10 yung anak ko nung pumunta kami dito US last year, ORD ang POE namin..di rin sya kinuhanan fingerprint so di talaga siguro kailangan for minors.

    thanks for that info! yey 550 is better than 750 :) ill update you guys with the pancit canton :dance:

    i bring a lot :thumbs: of those "lucky me" pancit canton (all flavors) and instant noodles from PH last month.

    had no problem with the customs here in Chicago...
