  1. I am from Indonesia. And now I am worried too...

So lately after our engagement, we call each other husband/wife in the email or when we say goodbyes to each other after a long chat on Yahoo. Like.. "Stay safe for me. You have a wife/husband here.." We did not submit any emails in the petition and now still waiting for NOA2. Will this really affect my visa?? :crying:

The reason why we do it is simply because even if we are far apart and have to wait for like..so long, I already feel that he's my husband at heart.. Now I am really really worried... I will stop doing that..

  2. My babe just called our lawyer and he said since this is holiday season so everything is just slowing down. He said they should start to catch things up now that the holiday is over. I hope this is true. We have passed the 5 months frame. Still no NOA2. For all those who still waiting for NOA2, best luck for all of us.

    Happy New Year everyone!

  3. Me too. I am a K1 filer too. And yes, my fiance hired a lawyer too. But he did nothing to help us whatsoever in this stage. I know we can not ask him to expedite or whatever. But at least, pick the damn phone calls, right?

Anyways.. Yes, the long waiting for NOA2 is excruciating. It's 10 days to 5 months waiting for us. So, you're not alone. And I have my NOA1 date on July 30th. Best wishes for you.

  4. Our timeline keeps moving back and forth. I saw someone got NOA2 approved after 30 days something and the beneficiary said her fiance is not a military and she wasn't sure if it's expedited while ours on the other hand,is on it's 148 days now since NOA1. This is so frustrating. I know it's a case-to-case basis but seriously CSC, please have some good news for all of us who have been waiting for so long.:bonk::help:

Well said, well said.. I have just cried.. This Christmas feels so sad..

    I wish I could do something.. Bu I know I can't..

    Please CSC........ :crying:

  5. Dear VJers,

I am currently in the process of K1 visa. However, I have a question regarding B2 visa. I tried to find the answer on the internet but it confused me even more.

I know VJers can help me.

    :help:

So, if I am a B2 visa holder and currently visiting Seattle, can I go to Vancouver, Canada using my US visa only? It will only be a short trip. And if it's possible to get a visa on arrival? I am Indonesian citizen.

Thank you so much for your help!

    Regards,

    AH

  6. That cousin is dead wrong....anyone admitted to the US with a C1/D visa (crew member) CANNOT ADJUST OR CHANGE STATUS EVER!..Reread this...and explain it carefully to your sister...she cannot do an AOS to any other visa category, even if she finds some dodo in a trailerpark to marry....so if she decides to take the 'sage' advice of her cousin, she will remain out of status forever...

*correction = She is my friend's sister, and not my sister (IF only she was, I would kick her #### to get her back to her conscience.. Ahem)

Anyways.. I know! I have explained it to my friend, to let her - the sister - know about this. I asked her to come back to Indonesia first then, try to apply for Work Visa.

But I want to try to give her solutions first, rather than keep pointing that she's wrong. This girl is going to find a job as a waitress or maybe a cook in a restaurant, that's her plan. Do you think the restaurant will even sponsor her to have the work visa?

And she mentioned also, that maybe the cousin can sponsor her to live in America. I told her that as far as I know, the family based visa is for immediate relative. Your parents, or your siblings. This cousin is like... not really that connected.

I just want her to understand that it's going to ruin her life, if she does this recklessly.

But both of them, are so stubborn.

Is there anything she can do to get her to America legally?

    Thank you!

cruise employees are prohibited from conversion of visa to different type while in USA. IIRC this applies even to marriage conversion.

Oh this is very informing! Thank you so much!

  7. I am very grateful for your information, Aaron. I have passed this information to her. However, she is still sure that she would work things out. She based her opinion by the cousin's experience from student visa then living in USA. I told her already that this cousin might have applied for LPR during her stay in USA using student visa.

But anyways, thank you again for the kind responses.

    I really appreciate it.

  8. Hi fellow VJers. I'm currently in the process of K1 visa. However, I would like some insight about Work Visa for my friend. So her sister is now having a work visa as a cruise ship employee. And next year, she decides to resign her post at the cruise ship and wants to stay in New York City. She has a relative there. Not immediate relatives. Just some cousin.

And she told me that she would use the visa from the Cruise Ship employment to stay and work in USA. I am worried that she might get in trouble.

Will she be in trouble is she continues and proceed with her plan?

I might be wrong, but in my understanding; soon as she resigns from the cruise ship company, they would withdraw their sponsorship upon her, won't they? And therefore, her visa will not be valid anymore?

Please kindly give me some insight about this.

Your help is highly appreciate it!

    Regards,

    AH

  9. Can someone help me? I had my NOA1 on July 30th. And yes, we have the NOA1 hard copy. From the mail and also from his email. What confuses me is that when I check the USCIS website, and check my case status, it has this Expiration date : 06/30/2012.. What does it mean?

And I read in some threats that people can see on USCIS website the updates about the I129F they're currently working on.. Please help.. Where can I find that?
