if you don't make enough money, then you need a co-sponsor and their tax information. if you want to use your dad as the co-sponsor, then you need to provide your dad tax information. Just because you are not employed right now, won't hurt your case, but you need someone else who make enough money. for example your dad should be able to support you, your mom and your husband.. so all together 4 people( assuming you dont have any siblings or any other person your dad write as dependent on your tax.

Ok buddy, you need to talk to a REAL Immigration lawyer. While people here are very knowledgeable and know the process very well, they can't tell you if it will hurt your case or not. Mostly in USA, if you are not taken to the court or if you are not given a DAT( summons) you won't have a record, but because you were interviewed in UK, and they took fingerprints, you might be in their system and we don't know what they wrote on your file.... It is important that you talk to a criminal lawyer, or an immigration lawyer. If you can afford both, i think it will be good idea to talk to both, because you want to make sure you dont have criminal history.

My wife was asked if all rituals are done... many people here who didn't do ruksati were told to go and do them and come back. But then i also know people here who were not asked that question. Do u want to take a risk and see if they dont ask your wife that question? i dont think its worth it. if you can, you should do and get the whole shadi done before the interview, so your wife can take the pictures to the interview and say yes all rituals are done.

I believe my wife had the easiest interview, but she was asked that questions. she was asked 4 total questions and this was one of them. I believe they will ask more people this question in the future.

when you file i-130 you suppose to attach documents proving that you are US citizen, if you did't send one, they might not approve your i-130 but if you sent your US passport with your i-130 that might be enough. you should check your i-130 instructions to see if they take US passport instead of the certification. I also became US citizen because i was under 18 and parent was citizen....But i do have that certification, it was given to me at the time i became citizen. I did sent that with i-130 and my US passport. I am not 100 % sure ( check i-130 instructions to be sure) but i believe the law said that you (petitioner) need to prove the US citizenship by providing the certification or the US passport.

Please let us know what you find after reading the instructions from i-130 form.

Don;t think he can apply for citizenship in 3 years - he's coming on F2A immigrant visa meaning petitioner is not a USC but LPR. 5 years should apply in this case for citizenship.

He will get a 10-yr green card.

if you are in AP, that doesnt mean that your case will be sent back to NVC, it will be in Islamabad. so you will need to contact Islamabad instead of NVC. If you get a rejection, then some time they will send it back to USCIS not NVC. so be clear about your case and the status of it.

I need some advice from our expert senior members. I have got immigrant visas and flying by the end of Dec 2012. My POE will be ( G.Bush Int'l (IAH)).

Questions are:

1) What they gona ask at arrival (i do have a seal packet for them & Xray reports) what else?

2) My friends, told me to get your SSN and State ID card as soon as possible.

3) After how long i can apply for my passport? ( 3 years, 5 years)?

I mean, what other thing i have to make which will be beneficial for future.

well you need tot ake the packet and the passport if the passport is not already inside the packet. you dont need your x ray reports but if you want to take it, you can.

yes once you are in here and you get your green card, then you can apply for SSN and your State ID card and if you want to drive, you can get a learning permit and then take the driving test and get a driver license, which is better than just state ID.

after 3 years and 5 months you can apply for your citizenship. But you might get a 2 years green card ( if you were married for less than two years before you applied for your visa), which is called the conditional green card and once you have that , then you will need to apply for permanent green card which will be valid for 10 years.

i would recommend that once you have your green card, you get a SSN number and then also open a credit card account, so your credit history will start to build ( it is very important if you want to get a loan later in life) and open a bank account and get a new cell phone on your name and so on. also i would suggest you bring some material from pakistan that will help you learn english, if your english proficiency need some work. buying books in USA are a lot more expensive than pakistan.

another reason we ask you to fill out the timeline is that we want you to get help from us, but at the same time we want other people to get help from you or your timeline. you see this forum is not just for people to come and ask questions and then move on, it is also to help each other. we will help you and answer your question, but that doesnt mean that you dont have to do anything, and refuse to make a timeline.

When you make a timeline, other people can see how long it took you to go through different procedures and what you did and what questions were asked and what you answered. first knowing these will help us answer your question accurately, second, it will help other people.

Now to your questions. It is possible that you will hear in 1 month or it could take upto a year and some time more than a year. usually, if its a male who is trying to get the visa, it will take longer than if it was a female. so the best thing you can do now is just pray and hope for the best.

with your U.S. citizen spouse; ( basically saying that after 3 years you can apply for your citizenship if you are married to a US citizen )

I really don't like when people give out wrong information here, i really hope that you guys check your facts before giving advice to someone else.

Direct Consular processing is the fastest. so i said you go with that. i assume you can prove that you live there and not just visiting. after you get married then you can apply for CR1 visa.

ok if you applied for 3 different people and all got green card after marrying you... thats not good. it seems like ( please dont mind me judging you, because USCIS will do the same) you are marrying these people and helping them get green card... but if i understand you correctly, you also stated that it was 20 years ago? so the last time you helped someone get a green card was 20 years ago? if thats the case, then it is good for you. But you must write a letter explaining why you got married with three people( three undocumented people) and help them get green cards and how those marriages were not done to help the women but was done because you really loved them and wanted to marry them. you will need to explain how you and these three were good match and if you are able to do that... there is strong chance that you will get these new K-1 visa.

first, you should complete a timeline... and tell us where you stand with the process, so we are aware about you. second, you should look at the immigration timlines and pick K1 or CR1 depending on what visa you applying for, and the chose pakistan and see who had their interview recently and if there is any new interviews coming up.

My wife will be flying to US end of next week and her POE will be done at jfk. My question is what documents are required to carry for POE. I know immigration officier will ask for Passport and the brown sealed envelope. Is there anything else she should carry? What about X-ray reports? Please help?

i dont think she would need her X-ray report. if there is anything she need, it will be in that brown sealed envelope, which you should never open until the immigration officer take it from her and open it. there is nothign that she really need to take it with her apart from what you mention.

congrats to you and your wife. what matter most is that your wife got the visa. I know they shouldnt ask these types of questions, but some time it is a red flag, but no worries, you have the visa.

Between your 1012 income (bring paystubs) and your savings you should be ok.

Penguin_ie, with all due respect, it will not be ok. because even with 25K in saving, they will only consider that as 5K because of the rules they use.

ok so here is what i think you can do.. your 25k will only count as 5k( because when you use your saving account or other assets, they must be five times more than the required annual income) and that 5K will be added to your 15,000 that you made last year.... that will make it 20,000 but still you are below the required amount.

I think you should try to get Co- sponsor who makes atleast 40 K. even 30 K could be enough but your 20K even with the saving will not be enough.

I think if you are making more this year, and you add the 5K into that... will that be 30K? i dont think so... therefore i dont think it will be enough.. YOU MUST GET A Co- Sponsor to help you or your case will be denied.

I have had long discussion with our law firm's immigration attorney over this and she informed me that if you are barely meeting the requirement, they can still deny your case. so make sure you not only get to the minimum but also have little more than minimum.

it will take you atleast 6 to 7 months now. some people it is taking them 7 to 8 months, but after your 5 months, call them and see what they say and keep calling USCIS and keep bothering them.. and then if you dont hear anything until 6 months, contact your senator and ask them to follow up for you.

yes you must have the last year tax return. tell him to talk to his accountant and file the tax for 2011 and if that accountant cant do it... FIRE HIM! and find someone else. maybe you can also start looking for someone else to help you with this affidavit, maybe it is not worth it to wait for your cousin to file his tax return.
