  1. I believe the medical is different depending on the consulate. Ours for Canada are good for 6 months. For example, I just got my visa... the visa itself is valid until 6 months from our medical date, NOT from the issue of the visa.

I suggest asking some other people in a forum that is for your area.

Hmm... Thanks for letting me know.. I think you are right and unfortunately I just got excited for nothing :( I think it is only 6 months in the Dominican Republic..

    Thanks

  2. I just asked the embassy: "Medical exams are expensive and only valid for 12 months." - not 6.

I do not understand the rest. So you had the interview for a IR-1/CR-1 Visa at the embassy then have to wait another 5M to get the passport and Visa back!? Crazy!

So the results from the medical exams are valid for 12 months???

We had our interview on Oct 4th and were told by the Consulate Officer and we were put in Administrative Process and have to wait until that clears out which there is no timeframe and can take 60 to 90 days or more.

Well it's been 5 months and no call or email yet :( once we get a call or email saying it has been completed then bmy husband will go back to consulate to drop off his passport so that they can issue the visa.

    And yess CRAZYYY :(

  3. My husband had his interview on OCt 4th which I was there with him. Everything went well but at the end we were told we were put in Administrative Process. We were told to pay Domex and wait for them to clear this out and call my husband so that he can go back and drop off his passport.

Anyways... It's been 5 months of AP as of Oct 9th!!!! I am going CRAZYYYYY!!! And now to top it off it will be 6 months on the 20th that he got his medical exams done. Don't they expire in 6 months? or am I wrong? If they expire what happens? Does he have to get get them redone right away or wait until they call him to drop off his passport and then redo his medical exams?

Also.. Any advice on what I can do to try and speed this Administrative Process???

I appreciate any help and advice..

Thank you so much in advance

    Rosy

  4. Day 613 (1year and 8monthes) since denied, just finished faxing and emailing Ombudsman office with the Form DHS-700. That one of our members informed me about last night. I’m feeling this is another positive move in the right direction and hopefully soon I will hear some good news soon!!!! Thank you for all the help and support…….

GOODLUCK!!! Wish you the best and hopefully your case gets resolved soon! :)

  5. My Peoplesssss,

No new Updates...Here were are, still waiting....seriously, this AP BS is out of control, especially since everything had been turned in and seemed to be in order...ridiculous.

    It's been 60 days and still waiting...*SIGH*...

    Thanks.

    Kel

Hey, unfortunately AP can take upto 90 days if not more :( My husband had his interview on Oct 4th 2012 which I was there with him. Everything went well atleast that's what we were told.. But for some unfortunate reason we were put in AP and it will be 5 months on March 9th since our case was open for investigation. I'm running out of patience :( This has been so stressful and frustrating for me but all I can do is wait and wait patiently...

So Goodluck!! Hope your case is resolved sooner than mine.

  6. When I got married in OCt 2011 I did have to get my birth certificate translated and also apostilled (legalization). I had to send my birth cert to sacramento to get that done since I am from California.

Once I got to the dominican I had to get something else done that cost me around RD$6000. They gave us our marriage certificate right after we were done. (Not sure if they normally do that which I don't think so but the guy that worked there is the cousin of my husband's best friend).

Once I got back with the marriage certificate after about two weeks I went to the DMV and changed my license with my new lastname (showing as proof my marriage certificate which was in spanish and since the gentleman was hispanic he said it was okay).

After the DMV I went to the SS Office and also with my Marriage Cert I changed that as well.

  7. Hm... I did send him to the window once just to get some info. and he said that the lady was very nice and that she said oh your case is almost complete asked for his best number to reach him and said that they would call him once it was completed. But that was Dec 3rd :( and no call yet. I guess it doesn't hurt to send him again right? Specially since he doesn't live that far away only about 15min. Thank you and congratulations so happy for you! Can't wait til my nightmare is over!!!

THANK YOU.. AND IM SORRY TO HEAR THAT.. I HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING YOUR CASE AND WAS REALLY AFRAID THAT THE SAME COULD HAD HAPPEN TO ME.. BESIDES ME CALLING EVERYDAY I HAD MY FIANCEE GO BACK TO THE SAME WINDOW WE DROP OFF HIS SONS MEDICAL EXAM AND EXPLAIN THAT WE ALREADY HAVE A WEDDING DATE. THE LADY THAT HELP HIM ACTUALLY FILLED OUT A FORM EXPLAINING HIS CONCERN AND WHEN I CALL DOS IT CAME UP.. SO I GUESS THAT DID HELP THE PROCESS.. IF YOU HAVENT DONE THAT YET.. YOU MIGHT WANT TO TRY THAT OPTION. GOOD LUCK !

  8. My husband in the Dominican and we have been in AP for 2 1/2 months.. This sucks not knowing the time frame.. We were first told 30 days then 60 and once the 60 days were up they were like NO call back in 30 days so once the 90 days are up we should have something resolved.. But that can change though because once the 90 days are here they can say another 30 days or 60 or 90!!!!! GGGRRRRR this makes me sooo mad and frustrated and depresses again another Christmas and New Years without my husband :(

Hang in there... Hopefully we will soon be reunited with our loved ones and will be together FOREVER (L)

  9. Had our interview today in Santo Domingo D.R Everything went super smooth until the very end. We were together in the interview and then I was asked to step outside so that the agent can talk to my husband alone. I think it was only like 5 minutes but for me it seemed like 30min atleast lol. I was soo nervous After those 5min I was called to go back and then the agent asked my husband to step outside. She then asked me the same questions as my husband and was checking off the answers to all her questions on her paper. Thank GOD they were all right they all matvhed although I don't see why they wouldnt since this relationship is for reals and there's no need to lie about anything. Once she was done she had the green slip infront of her but all ofa sudden she tells us. I am so sorry but there is a block administrative and some information seems that has not been cleared out in the system yet and I am not able to override it. I started freaking out and getting worried thinking only but the worst. So I asked what does that mean??? She said Oh don;t worry your relationship is real you did nothing wrong I will approve the visa so you can still go to Domex and pay but he will not receive anything until this is cleared out also mentioned don't worry this is actually very common since there are so many cases right now. I asked her how long it would take so that I can plan to stay longer here and call work but she said it can actually take up to a month no more than that. So we went to pay domex they did not take his passport since the case technically was not completed and since that is done they will call him so that he can go back and present his passport.

So I'm going to have to go back to California by myself and wait until all this clears out so that my hubby can join me there. I really wanted to leave together so I guess there will be some changes in our plans. But atleast I should be happy that the visa was approved right?

Does anyone have any advice?? Is there anywhere I can call or check to see the status of this problem??? Do I call NVC? the US Consulate here in the Dominican? or what do I do??? Any help is extremely appreciated I want to take care of this as soon as possible so that we can leave together soon.
