Just the news from the embassy in Vietnam:
"U.S. Embassy Hanoi and U.S. Consulate General HCMC are open and will continue to be so until instructed otherwise. All Consular Services: American Citizen Services, Non-Immigrant Visa Services, and Immigrant Visa Services will continue until further notice. Other activities will be reviewed on a case-by-case bases.
For more information, please click on the following link."Confirmed that they 're still opening. -
Consular operations will continue if the government shuts down, which means that people would be able to get visas and passports. However, there is an exception is for passport offices that are located in buildings that are otherwise shutdown, so some people may see delays in their applications. Travel plans for State Department personnel will mostly be put on hold, as will all new employment offers. The State Department has not released exact numbers of furloughs, but in previous shutdowns, furloughs were felt more heavily at the department's headquarters in Washington than at posts overseas. The State Department contingency plan did not list the total or furloughed number of employees at the department.

So the government already shut down, ILs probably will be delayed longer, i've been waiting like forever and when it's only 2 more days till my priority date, this happens

Following: http://fox13now.com/2013/09/30/how-a-government-shutdown-would-affect-travelers/
" If you need a visa
Because consular services at U.S. embassies and consulates around the world are largely funded by application fees, not annual appropriations, visa applications filed by foreigners wanting to enter the United States will continue to be processed, according to the state department spokesperson. "
Hope this 's true.

Does anyone know that whether the goverment shutdown will affect to us or not ?

As delightful as that would be, the truth is that it will move just two weeks. If it had moved three weeks, I would have gotten a letter. But better than no movement, right? Small blessings, and etc.
Meanwhile, I've tried calling the NVC -- they're incredibly hard to get in touch with, it seems. All their lines are down. Could they be in their offices laughing at us all?
Anybody has Miguel's number? Hey hey, ho ho.
Me too, it 's hard to get in touch with them, waiting too long...

Congratulation Kristinasona ! Thanks for sharing the news.

I don't get to receive an interview letter because I'm in the U.S. right now (my case is with USCIS, not NVC). I will be doing Adjustment of Status (AOS).
Last time I talked with 2009OEL, he hadn't received his letter yet. Hopefully he got it by now!
I 'm curious how you could be in US right now. Did you have any interview such as working visa,.... before?
-
Javisakid, PD at page 1: http://vietditru.com/bb/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=16333. As i see she posted that she received this today.

Hi friends,
Good news from vietnamese forum, one guy with PD 01/09/06 received IL. Reference url: http://www.vietditru.com/bb/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=16333&start=105

"Closing a number of embassies and consulates over large areas of the Middle East and Africa" could be a factor delaying interview letters for this month. But this situation would be temporary, hopefully. God bless all F1 applicants and their families!
It could be the reason...
-
I looked around some other categories and it 's similar with ours. It 's weird with nvc this month. But be patient and don't lose hope. who knows miracle appears suddenly .

-
Be patient guys, I 'm felling positive of movement in next vb also. Even in past few months, letter have been sent out closely with the official VB bulletin. .

Its not moving a month. My priority date is May 18, 2006 and I have not received anything yet. No interview letter YET for me. OH GOD PLEASEEEE MAKE IT HAPPEN.
Please be positive. It seems that they slowly send IL.. even in Vietnam, noone has received IL yet.
-
i think they stop at the 22 April 2006 as cut off date, my siter pd is april 22 2996 and she got her i/l last week
If your sister received IL with PD 22 April 2006, it should move to 1May.
