You've come to the right place to rant.
It does take such a long time for some of us... well, it feels like for most of us who are going down the combi route.
I'm not sure how to take the lead times, there's such conflicting information. Have you started studying yet?
No I haven't started studying. I have the app so I just play with it. And check the book in traffic.

Congrats to all the members who have gotten their interviews.
Just put those of us in Houston, Texas in prayers. It's taking averagely 12-15months to get interviews.
Just hopeful it changes. Can't wait for this to be over. Just wanted to rant a bit. good luck everyone.

i have a similar question too. I have been married to the same person for 5years, I got my permanent residency in 2014 but from then to 2016 i have been outside the US 38 times in and out. The total number of days outside the US all together is 483days. I used to work for an airline so I was going back and forth waiting for a transfer which never happened and I had to quit. The longest I have been outside the US in that time was 69days at one time.
I have not been outside the US since May of 2016. I wanted to know if I qualify for citizenship or do I have to wait till next year?

God damn, just checked my status, "On September 19, 2017, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number WAC1619xxxxxx and will mail it to the address you gave us. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address."
I'm so happy. my NOA was june 30th.
I'm so happy for this good news, and I pray others in the same boat would get their own reply ASAP.

God, this USCIS is driving me nuts, can somebody tell me asap how to find the PIN number to reschedule the infopass appointment, there are open time for later today and I cant reschedule because I cant find the PIN number..why cant they have some organized functionality
put your name on the screen to search for the appointment, it would bring out your appointment, so instead of searching with the PIN search with your name....
-
i went for my infopass appointment today at the Dallas field office...............i wish all government offices were this quick, was in and out in 11mins and 56sec (i actually had a timer set as i walked in), met the nicest officer too...
well got the stamp, that's ok for now, waiting the wonderful news.
congrats to all who have been approved.

I have a question.
I'm a June 30th 2016 filer, and we all know how the story is.....but this is my question, I need to show my employer an extension or I run the risk of loosing my work pass.
I just submitted my application for a US CBP authorization to access some places at my job, but if i don't show an extension my card may not be renewed. Here is my question can I walk into a USCIS center to get a stamp on my passport without an appointment?
I'm not worried about the time they are taking in approving the I-751, but I need to extend my badge, I need suggestion ASAP between I live in Texas now, when I filed I was living in Florida. Can I just go to USCIS center in Texas or I have to go to Florida?
Anyone living in Texas knows there are no appointments anytime.
-
one year and 19days waiting!!!! this wait is killing! but still hopeful, sent in mt i-751 June 30th, live in Florida so sent to VSC, hopefully they are approving days close by.
-
my application was received June 30th 2016, still waiting till this moment. This is getting frustrating, anyone in the same shoe?
-
i have good news, so after countless calls and prayers and fasting, our darling USCIS finally delivered my green card after 7months since it was returned to them as undeliverable by the post office.
i called almost everyday.....made an infopass appointment and that didn't help too, but I have my green card in hand now.
p.s. i travelled out of the country every 3weeks with the stamp on my visa and i didn't have any issue except one time the customs officer told me because i still had a CR1 visa they had to stop me to check.........
-
Thanks Tbone TX, also this is also information for other people, once you POE check the USCIS website everyday.............just because someone's card came in 2 months doesnt mean yours would come in 2months, mine technically came in 15days after i POE
-
I need help and suggestion on this issue. I POE in September 2014, reading from posts in VJ I had thought my GC would be shipped to me in two months. So I "technically" went to sleep and didn't check the USCIS website.
Unfortunately for me, the day I checked the USCIS website one month later in October 2014, I discovered my GC was shipped already and was been returned to USCIS. I ran to the post office, but the postman said the card was returned already because my name wasn't on the mailing list of the house. This shocked me because I got my SSN and other bank cards and documents in the same house.
Now this is where my dilema is, Since October 22 up until now I haven't been able to get the USCIS to re-send the card. I had a service request generated, after 30days they replied that the card would be mailed back in 90days. This looks absurd so I bombarded them with calls like everyday, but everyone keeps saying wait 90days. The website says the card would be held for 120 days. If i add the 30days I have waited for the service request and the 90days, 120days is up.
I need suggestions please, should I make an Infopass appointment, reason why i'm worried is i don't want to end up paying 450USD again to have a new GC made.
Please I need suggestions.

I'm so happy. My visa was approved today....................This would mark one of the most happiest moment in my life!
The interview was in Lagos, Nigeria. Interview took just 7mins. Our PD was 6th August 2013.
I couldn't sleep all night and my interview was for 7am. I got to the embassy at 5am just to beat the Lagos traffic. Ushered into the embassy at around 7:20am.
Sat down and did all the formalities.
Interview was at about 8:20am.
CO: Good morning are you Mr XYZ
me: Yes
CO:is your wife Miss XYZ
me: Yes
CO: how did you meet your wife
me: We met online 3years ago
CO: Where did you propose to your wife and how do you communicate
me: I visit the US every month and we communicate on YIM
CO: can i see pictures of you in america and how many times has your wife been to Nigeria
me: (handed over pictures) she has been here once, she's scared of flying
CO: I see you guys had a lovely wedding ceremony, do your parents know about here (thats a trick question cos she was staring at my parents pictures)
me: sure they do, they are the ones in the picture
CO: perfect everything checks out, pick up your visa in one week at the address
me: (smiling like a puppy) thanks
And that was it. I appreciate the effort of DWHEELS, she is an angel, a confidant, a sister and a friend.
All the folks in our August 2013 chat room, everyone who has given suggestions, or even experiences you are all blessed
And to all those still waiting...................just believe, your is on the way.

Good day All,
I must confess, it has been a real journey for me and my wife. Sometimes information is easy, sometimes you are just confused.
Here is my confusion:
1. Me and my wife had gotten case complete (well thats what the email says) but I need to show the AOS at the embassy during interview.
2. We got this email 19th of July, my wife called the NVC and was told our interview has been scheduled for September 2nd
3. We are moving apartments, I told my wife to call the NVC and change the address which she had did, do I need to change the address anywhere else?????
4. Reading the requirements for the embassy, it states that I need to bring the original documents to the embassy, but I submitted the originals to NVC, does that mean I need to go to the embassy with the copies????
5. After the visa is issued, can I travel to the US and come right back to my country because I'm still holding on for transfer to the US from my company. I don't want to quit my job yet, I want to transfer, can i come back to my country and go back and forth till my transfer is finalized.
