  1. My husband received his Employment Authorization card a few weeks ago and we are still waiting for his SSN. He went on a job interview, explained the situation, and the guy told him he would like to hire him and pay him using a 1099 form...which apprently you don't need a social security number for. Well...he worked 3 days...turns out the job is 100% travel all day long and nothing like what they had told him, so he told them it wasn't going to work out. Now the company is refusing to pay him. How should I go about making sure he gets paid for the work he's done??

  2. My husband received his EAD card on 4/20/06, went to apply on the 21st for his SSN and they told him to come back on May 12th since he wasn't updated in the system. He went back on May 2nd and they had to mail his application out for verification. Now we wait for that...which should be approx. 3-4 weeks. My husband was offered a job....and he's getting paid by filling out a 1099 form until his SSN arrives.

  3. Does the message that I recieved below mean they have come to a decision....or are they still processing and I still have loads of time to wait before the decision comes?

This stuff is just too confusing!!!

Application Type: I485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status

    Current Status:

On March 9, 2006, we received your response to our request for evidence or information. It is taking between 120 and 180 days for us to process this kind of case. However because preliminary processing was complete, the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message. You will receive a written decision on this case.

  4. TSC recieved our AOS/EAD/I-130 on January 20th, we were "touched" January 24th and recieved NOA1 for all 3. My husband also recieved a letter stating we would be getting another letter with an appointment for his biometrics. We still haven't recieved anything, and i'm wondering if anyone else got this letter before recieving an actual appointment. We're at day 47 and they say it's taking between 30 and 90 days. My husband is getting antsy and can't wait to start working! Any info would be greatly appreciated!
