Thank you! I did call the Wage and Hour division and they were alot of help! Not only do they have to pay my husband, they will be fined for not filling out the proper paperwork (ie. I-9 form).

My husband received his Employment Authorization card a few weeks ago and we are still waiting for his SSN. He went on a job interview, explained the situation, and the guy told him he would like to hire him and pay him using a 1099 form...which apprently you don't need a social security number for. Well...he worked 3 days...turns out the job is 100% travel all day long and nothing like what they had told him, so he told them it wasn't going to work out. Now the company is refusing to pay him. How should I go about making sure he gets paid for the work he's done??

My husband received his EAD card on 4/20/06, went to apply on the 21st for his SSN and they told him to come back on May 12th since he wasn't updated in the system. He went back on May 2nd and they had to mail his application out for verification. Now we wait for that...which should be approx. 3-4 weeks. My husband was offered a job....and he's getting paid by filling out a 1099 form until his SSN arrives.

I am Flyers all the way! I'm hoping they step there game up! We are down 3 -2! Maybe it'll go to a full 7 game showdown!

I know the AOS takes between 120-180 days. Has anyone ever experienced this process taking longer than the 180 days? We'd like to take a trip to my husband's hometown around July/August...and not sure if I should file for AP or just wait the 180 days for the AOS.

Congratulations!!!

Thank you for your help...i'm going to try and get in touch with someone at the social security office or head back over there with my husband. Will keep you updated!

My husband's EAD card came yesterday. Today he went to apply for SSN, but they told him he has to come back May 12th since the system hasn't been updated. Wouldn't he be in the system if he received his EAD card???

Hi everyone!! Just an update...my husband's EAD card came in the mail today!!!
-
Just got the update that my husband's I-765 is approved! A step in the right direction! What are the steps to get him a social security number??
-
My husband had his biometrics and photo for EAD and AOS! We're one step closer! Let's hope the rest is as easy and painless as today!

We sent my husband's AOS/EAD application back in January also. We got our letter yesterday with the biometrics appointment for April 14th as well...but we are in South Florida. Our appointment is 9am! My husband is bored out of his mind and can't wait to start working!!
-
I also got married to my fiance while he was here on the VWP. We're using a lawyer (we'll see if he was worth it), and applied for AOS/EAD and I-130 all at the same time. We're still waiting! I'm glad to see there are others out there!

My I-485 has been touched 3 times in the past 5 days....but no touches on my I-130 and I-765. If my I-485 gets approved...does that take care of the other 2 forms I've filed also...or do all 3 need to be approved?
-
He still hasn't recieved an appointment for the biometrics, only a letter telling us we'd be recieving another letter with the appointment.

We actually did recieve our NOA1 on January 24th. So i'm guessing this will be the NOA2 or an approval??
-
Does the message that I recieved below mean they have come to a decision....or are they still processing and I still have loads of time to wait before the decision comes?
This stuff is just too confusing!!!
Application Type: I485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status
Current Status:
On March 9, 2006, we received your response to our request for evidence or information. It is taking between 120 and 180 days for us to process this kind of case. However because preliminary processing was complete, the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message. You will receive a written decision on this case.

Have you or anyone else recieved a letter stating another letter would be coming with an appointment for the biometrics??

TSC recieved our AOS/EAD/I-130 on January 20th, we were "touched" January 24th and recieved NOA1 for all 3. My husband also recieved a letter stating we would be getting another letter with an appointment for his biometrics. We still haven't recieved anything, and i'm wondering if anyone else got this letter before recieving an actual appointment. We're at day 47 and they say it's taking between 30 and 90 days. My husband is getting antsy and can't wait to start working! Any info would be greatly appreciated!

My husband has gotten a job without his SSN. An employer can pay him and at the end of the year a 1099 form will be needed for paying the taxes on what he earned. I'm pretty sure that's the way it goes.
