    Interview passed!

I don't understand some of these people that get their Oath ceremony invitation right after the interview for an oath the same week.

Was told to wait for the letter in the mail and the ceremony would be "about 4 weeks after that."

Maybe it has something to do with the size of the field office?

I think it depends a lot on the field office and also where you live.  For me, there are I think 2-3 ceremonies a month at I think it was a couple of court houses and a school.  Plus every July 4th there's a oath ceremony at Monticello.  So it just depends on those locations, how many people they hold and how many people are already scheduled.

At my interview the interviewer was checking where I lived and the various places - I didn't ask him to check this, just something he was doing - he said he wasn't sure in my case, but I guess if there was something showing as available he may have given me an invitation then and there.  My interview was April 12th, in line for oath ceremony scheduling was May 1st and May 16th oath scheduled for I'm guessing next month but hoping for July 4th.

Hi everybody, my husband got his 'interview is scheduled' email. We're waiting for the letter and then I will come back and update the chart.

Nice.  Good luck.  I just got 8 texts  to let me know my case status has changed, that my oath ceremony has been scheduled.  Just got to wait for the NOA to come in the mail for date/time/location.

  3. Interview yesterday at DC office, all good and recommended for approval.  Just for reference, there’s a parking garage there that charges $7 for the first few hours.  I was in and out in under an hour and a half, so you shouldn’t have to worry about paying for longer.

The final words from my interviewer?   May the force be with you :) (I was wearing a Star Wars T-shirt)

Nope, has to be sent with the application. It's right on the N400 application page. https://www.uscis.gov/n-400

You can still check your case status online though to see if it's changed via https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

Also if you're sign up on that page you can set up email and text notifications.

Assuming you filed online, just log into your account and check. Some people seem to get emails, some do not.

If you filed paper, then I have no idea.

Just wanted to let you know that I filed paper.  Biometrics was 5th September, got a text today that status had changed.  Checking case status online it tells me...

On September 7, 2017, we started the interview scheduling process for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization , Receipt Number XXXXXXXXX. We will send you an interview notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

  6. biggrin.png We can participate more 'fully' in 3 years!

    Amen to that :D

Hi everyone! How are you all doing?

I'm still stuck in "Initial Review", after getting an RFE, and then changing my address. Status hasn't moved since April 25... Should I be calling someone at this point?

I'm not really overly worried about it, to be honest. I have my EAD and I'm working at an awesome job... so as long as it doesn't expire on me LOL, I'm way less worried about this than I was about the NOA2 last year wink.png But I don't want to let it slide TOO long, if I need to be proactive...

I'd definitely call if I was you, especially as you had an RFE - normally that speeds up the process.

  7. Well, I've had 12 emails/texts from USCIS in the last 7 days but FINALLY... my green card arrived today! I haven't seen it yet because I'm up in Colorado but my husband has photographed the packet and sent it to me biggrin.png I also received my driver license this week so I'm good to go! Can't wait to get home tomorrow and open them!

Congrats on both! :) That reminds me I need to renew my driving license soon, I think mine only lasted a year - I guess that'll be different now I have the greencard when I renew.

  8. Lol Sarah - Having been married almost a year, you'll have no problem at all showing them your bona fides biggrin.png

We had a couple update texts in the last 2 days which leaves me seriously confused! The first came Wednesday:

Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production

On September 4, 2013, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

    The second came yesterday:

    Your Case Status: Decision

On September 5, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before receiving your card, please call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

Where the status page had shown it as being in production, it's now changed to 'decision'. Any thoughts on what it means?

    Shezi

I had exactly the same, yesterday I got another email saying it had been sent, then yesterday evening I got another email with the tracking number. Mine should arrive Monday, unfortunately we're away at the outer banks for a week, so I'll have to wait until I get home to see it. :)

We just got a letter that our interview is waivered and it will be another 6 months. Did I see correctly that some of you got the same, but it ended up being a little faster? luv.gif

Yep, I had the same thing and I think it was just over 3 weeks later that I got the card in production/approved update. That's good news :)

  9. Sarah, this is such a bummer. I'm really sorry to hear this. Do you think it's possible they lost part of your application? I'm with Gavin and Heather- you'd think they'd have checked this stuff out before giving a visa. Send as much evidence as you can, like joint bank accounts, pictures, joint leases, evidence from your wedding. Fingers crossed for you!!

Oh they're going to regret asking!!!!! We prayed this morning for the medical situation to be resolved today and the first place we called couldn't have been more helpful and told us to bring all our stuff in and they would look at it and help us out. So we went and they confirmed that I would need another medical as it had been questioned, TB test, and also flu and DTAP vaccines. She went to check when they could next fit me in and then said with a surprised tone that they could actually do it all at 12.30 today!!! Two sore arms later...all results should be in and form signed on Monday! Been collecting all we have in both names. We are getting 7 notarized affidavits from friends, family and our pastor. I'm currently putting together a big fat photo diary of the past year that will make them vomit!!! Should have everything ready to mail back on Monday...praying for a fast turn around as we're moving at the end of October so don't want to go thru another change of address!!

Ha, love it :) Good luck, I'm sure it'll be soon once they get your 200lb parcel of evidence ;)

  10. Jeez Sarah! cray5ol.gif Which office is dealing with your application, Baltimore? I sometimes wonder if late RFEs are a way of justifying being so slow... buying time etc.

On the up side (for us), yesterday our case status was still sitting at 'Acceptance', where it's sat since December 2012. Last night I randomly got a text to say my status had been updated so shot over to my computer to have a look. Case status has moved all the way over to Card production!

    Some things we did -

    • At the beginning of September 2012, we contacted our congressman to help - 7 days later we had an NOA2 for I-129F but we thought it might just have been our 'turn' so not conclusive
    • on August 5th 2013 we submitted a service request for I-485 because we were past processing
    • Mid-August, no response from USCIS after 15 days (when I rang she said 'give them 30 days') so we contacted our 2 senators of state
    • Friday of Labor Day weekend I got a call from BOTH senators' offices who said they would look into it Tuesday and get back to me
    • Wednesday I had card production status

So, maybe having a couple senators poking around spurred them on, maybe only one got to it, maybe once again it was just 'our turn' but when it comes to then next bit I won't wait so long for us to ask for help somewhere. I guess it's just like asking an MP to help back home and their job is to represent constituents' issues, right?

So on Tuesday I had a letter from USCIS regarding my I-131 to say they had destroyed my previously issued parole document and would consider my request to expedite a new one but hadn't decided yet. We're leaving home to travel on 24th, spending a few days in Boston / New England before flying out to the UK for my son's wedding. I am hoping that either the parole document or (now) the green card gets here before I leave.

Does it really have to be this stressful?

    Shezi

Conrats :) I hope your card arrives in time for you!

I just got an email today to say that my card is in production! Odd, as I had the same email last week.

  11. Talk about USCIS taking hold of your head and slamming in into a wall...we have been asked to provide substantial evidence of a Bona Fide Marriage. Also been told my medical/vaccination history is incomplete - thanks London doctor!

Sorry to hear that, I'm surprised they gave you an RFE for the marriage part, I would have thought if there were doubts they would have asked you to attend an interview.

Well I know I felt like a pin cushion last year, so many vaccinations! I know with the medical that I had the first shot of MMR just before it, but the medical report said that there's supposed to be a follow up/top up shot. I also know I hadn't had the flu shot until after the medical. So I was expecting an RFE maybe because of either of those - I did have the follow up shot here back in January just in case they wanted me to have had it.

    Good luck!

  12. Just curious, does anyone know if all the AOS apps go to a field office? We have a MSC number, which to this day is not in the USCIS system so I have no way of knowing the status unless I get Julian to call.

I assume it's because ours hasn't been picked up yet (just collecting dust like the K-1), but the whole process is confusing to me. Is it just hit or miss who gets interviewed and who doesn't?

I think my number took a month or so to appear on the system. I would certainly advise giving them a call and finding out the status. They did lose my original work permit application!

Your AOS application goes to the National Benefits Center first, there it gets the MSC number, then it gets a little fuzzy. I believe the application mostly get sent out to field offices, when you call them they should be able to check your case and tell you if this is so and what field office yours has gone too and if it's past the processing date - if so, they'll put in a service request.

  13. Just got the green card!!!!!!!!!

Any advise what to do next?

    Congrats!

Celebrate and relax? ;) The green card in most cases will be a 2 year card. So you can wait until renewel time, when I think you then get a 10 year card. The alternative is citzenship, I think the shortest amount time until you can apply for that is 3 years. So you could read up on the requirements for citizenship here...

Bascially, you need to have been a greedcard holder for 3 years and lived in the US for at least 18 months of the 3 years. Know English and some US history - best to look citizenship questions...
