  1. Congratulations .. Yes the wait is over .. You have less than a month before your husband leaves to UK . I think you guys should be fine .you should work on the documents needed ASAP. By the time he has his visa from UK mail every thing back to embassy and request the visa to be printed as soon as they can .. Visa should not take more than a week some times up to 2 weeks . Maybe you should send them a copy of your husband's ticket to UK to help expedite the process . No worries things will work out for you guys . Hard days are over . Good luck

  3. We are April filers...

I know you are april , 8 to 9 months is normal in vermont .. You guys have waited so long i know i feel your pain , but you are right there and trust me NVC is tottaly a Different story , it took me 34 days from the day NVC. Received my case to case complete .. So things go pretty fast .. Get all your documnts ready for NVC from now and be ready . Good luck everyone .

  4. uhm - bring a new I-864 set showing the corrected 1040x stuff, with a COPY of her ITIN letter from the IRS.

    Thanks for updating your timeline.

If you had not had a case complete at NVC, I would suggest to send in the new I-864.

Since you have a case complete, SHE needs to hand it over on interview day. Is not anything optional, you have updated tax stuff and MUST show the current stuff that the IRS has on you.

Since yer golden on the income levels, don't sweat that part

and remember - showing 'married filing jointly' is great fodder for 'bonafide marriage' evidence.

    ...sweat mode off}}

Drnell thank you so much for your help , i was trying to get all that ready as you told me to take with me to egypt and give to my wife , i am flying over there on christmas eve but i'm little confused .. my AGI will not change .. i was looking at my 2011 (1040 forms ) and compared them to (1040x forms )that was prepared by H&R Block .. my AGI still the same . am i looking at this correct way ? i even called H&R Block and they told me it will not change . also my wife has zero income she does not work , and that means nothing will change at all on the I-864 but i will still print another copy of the I-864 along with the 1040x and copy of ITIN# and have my wife give to them at the embassy .. right ??? am i missing anything ??

i'm also confused a little with something else ..we already have her ITIN# from the IRS and i sent the tax amendment to the IRS along with the ITIN form W7 , they say the Amendment takes up to 12 weeks , can we still take form 1040x to the embassy on the interview day before the IRS approves the amendment ?? .. thank you so much .

  5. Hi Everyone! (sorry about the re-post, but somehow I was unable to complete my post before it went through)

We just got an email yesterday saying that the NVC has completed the case, and now we have to wait for my husband to get the medical packet. Any idea how long it takes for them to receive the medical packet and interview date?

Also, to my knowledge there are not any more fees to be paid for the visa process? Is that correct?

ANY info anyone has regarding this would be great!

    Thanks everyone :)

It depends on how busy the embassy is , but you can call NVC and ask them if they have a date for the interview yet , you both will Receive an email when is the interview date is assigned . Can i ask you why are you no the NVC thread? You should be posting your question there not here .

  6. ok - i understand now.

this changes your AGI, line 22 of the 1040 (not sure what the 1040X line is)

so is your AGI on the 1040X above the 125 percent of the poverty line mark ? if so, yer golden...

So, if yer golden, submit a new I-864 on interview day with the 1040x and itin.

ok iam good i make enough to cover it , so you are saying submit new ones to CO meaning have wife take them with her just in case they ask for it or you mean give it to them without they asking for it ? .. Because the part of I-864 at the embassy i dont get , a lot of people i see posts from talking about issues with I-864 at the embassy , Technically you were done with Affidavit at NVC so how did you make it all the way to interview if you had issue with your i-864 ? also embassy does not tell you to bring a copy of your I-864 to your interview . I have been Through this before and never was asked for a copy of any of that , i am not arguing with you i am just Trying to understand i guess i dont wanna Complicate things if i don't have too .. So i am saying i will have my wife take all this with her just in case they ask for it . If they dont ask for it im not gonna have her give it to the CO . ( what you think? ) .
