  1. Pozdrav svima, nova sam na forumu. Imam dva pitanja vezana za k-1 vizu. Vjerenik je prikupio sva potrebna dokumenta, on je peticioner i zanima me da li ja moram licno potpisati svoj letter of intent i formular G-325a ?

Sretno! Takodjer, ako ti treba bilo kakav drugi savjet, posalji mi private message.

  2. My fiancé is taking a week off from his job so we can spend quality time together, do some shopping for the wedding and many other fun activities in Chicago. Then after the wedding and my AOS, I'll start looking for a job, get a driver's licence, and I also intend to go to college. Since we both love to travel, we plan on visiting many fun places such as Hawaii, my fiancé's home town, relatives and my sister who lives in New York.

We never spent the Christmas together, so we're both very excited to get our first tree!

Mainly, I just can't wait to see him again!

  3. My fiancé and I also hired a lawyer and we had nothing but delays with that guy. In my opinion this is something you're better off doing yourself.

Even with a lawyer it still took us over 6 months to get approved and we received an RFE after 5 months. It was very stressful having to deal with the lawyer, him not answering our calls or emails or questions, oh and he filed two months after we submitted all the paperwork and still we got an RFE. Honestly, you're better off doing it yourself and checking in with people on here with any questions, plus it will save you a whole lot of money on lawyer fees. Also, hiring a lawyer does not speed up the process. Just follow the guidelines on this forum and the USCIS website and you should be good.

  4. Hi there,

Sorry !! It's been 65 days since they received our reply to the rfe. It's case to case basis. Some get approved after few days or week. Hope yours will not take long. What was ur rfe? Ours is g325 form .

Ours were also G325a form and original statements of itent to marry.

Trying make sense of it and thinking it shouldn't take them too long to approve it, but I've been wrong about them plenty times before.

Keeping my fingers crosses for everyone on here! :)

  5. CSC is no better than VSC, they always look at each case individually. Maybe there is something about your case that needs more time to process. I would say that certain "low risk" countries get approved faster, it's a political game, and sadly they don't take our frustrations into consideration.

I've been waiting for 183 days without any sign of approval whatsoever. But hey what's 183 days compared to a lifetime that I'll be able to spend with my fiancé once this is over?

Yes it hurts to see some of the June or July petitions being approved, all I can really say is good for them, waiting to be with your loved one is the hardest thing to do whether you have to wait for a year or just a couple of months, it all hurts the same. I haven't seen my fiancé for over 8 months, we talk every day and help each other out the best way we can and when our time comes we will be together again. Losing my mind over this long process is no good for anyone and especially not for your rationship.

  6. Oh No I wish didn't read this post lol

We sent our in a week ago, received the notice that they're reviewing it, but I had no idea it could take them that long to approve it after an rfe. Sometimes I see people get approved within two weeks after they sent it in.

How long have you waited for until you received the rfe?

We waited for 5 months and one day :(

I can't imagine waiting another three months for the approval.

  7. As for the medical and the interview, your embassy will mail you a notice and a date of your interview. Usually, depends on the embassy, they require a medical exam prior to that date at a clinic/doctor they assigned, call and arrange a visit to the doctor's asap. All you can do is call the embassy to confirm that they received your paperwork. Wait for them to schedule you for an interview, I don't believe you can rush them to schedule you. After your NOA2 everything moves fast, the longest wait is over. Start planning your wedding. Good luck!

  8. So I have some news.....

WE ARE APPPPPROVEEEEEEDDDDD TODAY!!!! welll yesterday, they sent the email today though!!! FINALLY AFTER GETTING A RFE AND EVERYTHING!!! I hope everyone gets approved this week so we can talk about NVC together!!!!!

YESSS SO HAPPY THANKS EVERYONE FOR STAYING WITH US!!!

    CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Last year when we received an RFE it also had an alien number and I was told that that would have been my alien number later in the process IF we had been approved. We were denied so it was dead in the water.

Why were you denied if you don't mind me asking?

Now I'm getting worried about my RFE too :(

  9. Also, your Lawyer should be addressing the RFEs not you. He should already have the RFE in hand as he is your agent.

Ughhhhh frigging lawyers. Get rid of him, file a complaint with the bar for total incompetence. He did not even follow BASIC instructions giving to every petitioner. Ask for your money back. The list can go on and on but I will digress now.

I can't even explain how upset I am right now. We filed in Feb and could have been approved by now if it wasn't for the RFE. Not only did he fail to file correctly but he is also delaying the process. I will destroy his career and reputation!

  10. Hi everyone,

I hope some of you can answer some of our questions regarding our RFE.

    They need the following documents:

Form G325a from both of us, passport style photographs, original statement of intent to marry within 90 days of arrival from both of us and evidence that we met in person in the past two years.

We already sent them the copies of both our statements that we intent to marry, also we sent plenty of photographs of us together, also our lease of the apartment we rented together (we lived together for 3 months). We'll send passport stamps, credit card receipts and plane tickets this time.

Why are they asking for this evidence again?

And did any of you send the passport style photos and the G325a form before the NOA2?

This is starting to get a bit confusing.

  11. Sorry to hear that. It happens. I filed with a lawyer and got an RFE too. If you're from Chicago like your name suggests, I wonder if we used the same lawyer

You should get the RFE hard copy by Monday, so don't stress about it for now. There is nothing you can do until you get the notice.

No we actually hired a lawyer from NY that was recommended by a family member.

All we can do is wait

  12. Hi everyone,

Thank god for this threat because I need to get something off my chest about my laywer too.

My fiance and I hired a lawyer (recommended) in December last year, paid the fee for the petition and his own fee and provided all the necessary paperwork for him to file for my K1. He promised he will file asap.

He ended up filing two months later, February 17th, after I inquired about the status of my petition!! That was a first red flag! Ok I got very upset but my fiance managed to calm me down.

Communication with him was never easy, he never answers his phone and calls back only hours, days later. Same thing with emails. I understand he's busy though.

When I inquired again about my status 2.5 months into the process, he said I should expect an answer from the USCIS within 4-6 weeks. 6 weeks passed and nothing happened. When I asked him about this and told him that he's stressing me out he said I need to calm down, wait and stop being mean or he will resign. I stopped talking to him after that.

Today we receieved RFE, 5 months and 1 day after he filed for us. Yet again, I am frustrated beyond belief. In my opinion, the lawyer didn't file the correct paperwork or not enough paperwork.

What is the point of hiring a lawyer when he's doing nothing but delaying the process. Mind you that at this point I haven't seen my fiance for over 7 months and this lawyer is a huge burdon on both our shoulders.

So we decided to fire him and continue with the process ourselves. I find the people here on VJ to be far more helpful.
