wowowow! congrats! I received my visa today, so happy for us!! =)

Is it hard to get her a driver's license? Does she have to take up a course for driving?

Here in AZ, its a written exam of 30 questions all touch screen(drivers permit) and then a driving exam with someone next to you for the actual license. She just has her drivers permit right now. Its not hard at all.

She said they were very nice, simple questions. What is your final destination? why did you get married so young? Are you travelling by yourself? Why did it take so long to see each other again. The four hours was just sitting and waiting, it only took about 20 minutes to get through her paperwork. It took 4 hours becase there were about 50 other people waiting as well, with the yellow envelope coming in with 1st time visas.

aww... thanks for the story.. At least I'd rather wait and pass it through than haste and have problems... I told my hubby to buy airticket with longer gap between the connecting flights just in case it will take me hours at the POE.. U think thats fine? Im not sure anyway whether I would have a lot with me queueing there with the yellow envelope...

Don't worry you will be fine, the longer the connecting flight in between the better. In our case, it wasn't enough but everyone has different experiences.

possible questions from the forms? u mean details that are indicated in birth certs, marriage certs? is there anything else from those forms that will be asked? Thank you for the tip!!! Appreciate a lot..

Things on the I-130,G-325. DOB, marriage date, parents names, adress of spouse in US, etc: Pretty much whats on the forms that you filled out for the whole process. Sometimes they will ask something that's not on the forms, but general things that you already know.

Not yet, waiting for the DHL package to arrive on Monday at the embassy in Colombia so they can ship the visa.

Yay!! She can start browsing for cheap one way air ticket.. Few weeks from now your visa journey will all be accomplished and you will just be looking back at us who are struggling to finish the way you did!

Case is completed and visa issued according to DOS.

Administrative Processing, need to verify W-2's its what was written on the 221G form my wife was given.

Oh.. Thanks for the info.. So the consulate will need to see the W-2 during the interview? Im not prepared for that yet, I asked my hubby to send me a copy of his W-2.. I hope and pray you'd get out of AP the soonest and will receive her precious precious visa soon!

MAKE SURE you have the 1040/ with W-2's very important. I made the mistake of not giving my wife the W-2, even thought they could have used 2011 IRS transcripts like they originally request at NVC. A little hiccup but we are on our way, Bogota Embassy very helpful, called my wife to inform her and responded to my email the next day.

I was excited, now we have to wait more for AP.

dont be upset... at least she has passed through the baptism of fire at the interview.. just think positively; that while the status is in AP, you can make other things like planning what to do first when she gets there, etc... just keep in mind, visa is APPROVED..you just have to wait a lil bit more perhaps... smile! =)

We ended up needing a co-sponsor even thought I made more than the poverty guidelines line. I have one already, that can sponsor up to 8 people so we will be okay. Sending the documents DHL express in the morning, its all the embassy is waiting for . Should be quick and painless now, they are just waiting for that and visa will be on its away ASAP they told my wife.

We are extremely happy. They told her 5-7 days to get the visa. She will receive an e-mail from DHL when she can pick it up, since they don't have delivery service to her town. Now we just wait a few more days, then we can buy the plane ticket once she has the visa on hand.

If only I had the police certificates ready..The thing is, I cant easily ask for a police cert here in SG without a letter from NVC, so I had to generate one first.. Right now, I havent submitted my IV form and documents yet.. waiting for my police cert first... =s

Every country has its own loopholes, especially gov documents. Yes, I do. You can find me using my email adress (i think). I don't use it much. Ill send it to you in a message. It's a very good idea to do mock interviews when the time comes closer, it will help her become less nervouse and at ease knowing she will know everything.
