  1. No,we haven't heard anything at all. With everyone else getting approved on the spot, it's really worrying me...like to the degree of feeling nauseous, headaches. Our lives rest in their hands based on a 30 minute interview where we could show NO interaction towards one another. He feels bad that his integrity is in question. My husband is a God fearing, Christian man. He has never been in trouble a day in his life. His heart is pure and true and it breaks my heart to see him feeling the way he is because he knows it's HIM they question. If they just had a chance to KNOW the Gesi that me and my loved ones know and interact with, they would have NO questions about him at all.

I just pray we get some good news soon. I really do not know how much longer I can pretend to be strong for him.

Keep strong.. I understand it must be difficult, but it will all work out in the end. You two love one another and that is all that matters in the end... I will keep my fingers and toes crossed for you!!

  2. Does anyone know if you have to go to the Social Security office that services your zip code or can you use any office? We have 2 relatively close by, one closer than the other but the closer one isn't the one listed as the one that services our zip code. Also, the one that services our area is so close to DC and super busy. The closer one is in a rural area and I am sure less busy! I guess I could call tomorrow.....

I recently went to SS to update my name. Here in CA they made me go to MY local office (not so local) as I live closer to another. May be different in your state but CA is ridiculous.. I would check!!

  3. I'm wondering why I'm not getting my interview notice!

I'm in Los Angeles! Could that be the reason?

Its been two weeks since my biometrics and no update.

It took approx 2 weeks for us to get interview notice. However your local office really plays a lot into time frames as well. Also, noting that a lot of the August filers are getting EAD/AP already and we still have not received a peep regarding ours.. It is hard to wait, trust me I know..

  4. Hi all,

Just wanted to note that I (non-citizen) completed my biometrics today at the Jamaica center in Queens, NY. It was an extremely straightforward experience (I was accompanied by M) and everyone was very polite. We were all done in perhaps 15 minutes.

    Sooooo...

...what happens now? And in what kind of time-frame? Anyone?

I believe it all depends in your local office. We received our interview email 12 days after biometrics. Still no update on EAD. Our interview was scheduled 32 days after email. So it really can vary..

  5. Thanks! I agree. I am just gonna stick to our Aug AOS thread. I read questions from other's occasionally but do not offer any help because of the forums gods seem to think no one is better educated than them. I might not know all of the answers when it comes to immigration but I have class, and tact. No education can teach you that!

I think many times folks on here can be a but abrupt. I abandon the site for awhile but came back with a thicker skin. Sometimes I think it is how it is read as well, I responded to a scared girl about AOS and how it's done and it appeared one individual was attacking her saying AOS was illegal. I made a simple comment like "it begins" and that individual got upset saying she was tryin to help. Her response was confusing and she did not clarify it just appeared to be attacking. I have learned to just ignore, have a thick skin and move on.

Stay here with us August folks so we can rejoice with you when you get your approval!! Plus, it's much easier to talk I94, EAD and AP with VJ'rs, folks at work think I'm nuts!!

  6. My understanding is that he is not eligible for an extension on his DL until He receives his green card. Then he gets a new license although I think it is only good for two years as that is the expiration of his initial green card.

Side note, it's interesting my husband entered two days before yours an we got married around the same time..

  7. 11th of Sept 2012– lawyer sent package to Chicago

13th of Sept 2012- Package was received

18th of Sept 2012- Received all 4Recepts for 1-485, 1-130,1-31 and 1-765 (msc receipt number)

23rd of Sept 2012- Received Biometric appointment (appointment date of 18th October)

26th of Sept 2012- Walked-in for Biometrics and was allowed to do it.

This is where I have reached so far, anybody in the waiting mode please post your experience. How long do I have to wait before I receive EAD and interview letter?

Our interview letter can right around three weeks after biometrics. Still no movement in EAD. However I see some of my fellow August filers still have no interview date and they are done with biometrics. I believe it all depends on your local office for interview. EAD, it seems to come closer to 90 days for most..

  8. We just received our interview notice for our AOS (concurrent filing). I am a bit confused as to birth certificates for children and what is required. I have all my appropriate documents but my husband at this point has none. I am under the impression that he (the non USC) is required to bring birth certificates for each of his children born out of our marriage, is this correct? And can it be copies or must it be originals? And my last question is, what about for children over the age of 21? I hope someone can help, an infopass may be after our interview at this stage...

  9. OP, I think that many wait awhile to "file" their paperwork due to costs primarily. That is what I have read in my scan of the site. My personal opinion is the sooner the better, plus your hubby won't be stuck in limbo while waiting to file. Remember that once his I-94 expires he is not current and has many more limitations. Once you file he at least is moving towards the ultimate goal. I would say if you have the funds, the income to sponsor (or a joint sponsor lined up) the sooner the better. I would agree with some's posts that you may have more questions regarding your length of courtship at the interview, but as one poster said that is not reason for denial alone..
