  1. patluv,

I received the email about 'card production ordered' on Jan 22. Then I received another email about 'approval notice sent' on Jan 26. However I already got the letter of approval on Jan 25. So yes, even the email is not fast enough! :P And yes, 2 more days later (i.e. Jan 27), I got the actual card too!

I have also updated my timeline. So if anyone wants to know more, you can check my timeline.

    GOOD LUCK everyone!

  2. Hello all,

Thank you for all your help!!!

Without your help, I wouldn't be able to get approved soooooo fast! I mean it is much faster than I thought ( I thought it'd take 6 months :P)! I sent in the application on Oct 29 to CSC and got approved w/o interview on Jan 21! At 1st I got an email and I couldn't even believe it was true... so I dared not to tell anyone here (haha yes...I thought they sent me a wrong email! ) Then few days ago, I got the letter saying that my case was approved. So.... I started to realise that it is true! But still, I wasn't sure when I will receive the actual card. Surprisingly, the card arrived after 2 days I got the letter! Wow.......... that was amazingly FAST!!! It is actually much faster than my 2 year green card approval (I feel like even my DL renewal application was almost slower than this!!!) ! Believe it or not, it took less than 3 months and No interviews or RFE!:thumbs:

Good Job CSC!!! I hope VSC will speed up the process so all others who sent their application to VSC will be approved fast!

  3. Same in CA. DMV only extended my DL for another year based on my NOA 1 for Removing condition. They asked me to mail in a form to renew my DL. Then after 3 weeks and I got nothing and I called DMV. They told me they JUST renewed my DL in the system the previous day for a year but it will take up to another 3 weeks for them to mail the new one to me. My DL will expire tomorrow and I still haven't got my new card! The DMV is CA is very slow and inefficient. Many staff are unfriendly and impolite too. I hope that the DMV in your area is not the same. Good luck!

  4. Haha yes... that piece of paper worths $545! So I can't afford to lose it! :)

So yeah, you guys are right! Take my wallet but NOT my NOA!

I think I will not want to fold my precious 'original' NOA and bring it out too. I'll just bring a copy of it! I scanned it onto my computer and printed it out. But I don't have a color printer. Is that good enough?! Or I must have them in 'color' instead of B/W? :P

  5. Hi!

My situation is similar. My husband's house does not have my name on it and so is his life inusrance. But then, you just need to find some other evidence- bills with both names, visa cards with the same names, car registration/ insurance with both names, letters addressing to both or either one of you (just to prove them you live together), affidavits from friends, cards addressing to you, itineraries from your trip and pictures...

Hope this helps. Btw, I just sent in mine in Oct. So I still don't know if mine will be approved soon. But I think it is pretty much all people do. :)

    Good luck!

  6. Rozytc,

I'm in the same situation! I received the letter from DMV a few weeks ago telling me the same thing. My DL will expire in Dec this year, which is the same as my conditional green card. I wonder why some states/ DMV are different from the others! So yes, I guess what we can do is to show them the extension letter from USCIS and they will give us a ONE year extension... sigh...

  7. Hello all!

I'm going to mail my whole pile of I-751 application in the next few days, FINALLY. I will punch holes on top of my copies but I wonder if I can punch holes on the original application form and the affidavits? If not, how can I incoporate them with other copies? I don't want the USCIS staff to lose them!

Thanks a lot for your help!

  8. Hello Ant,

Sorry to hear about your mother-in-law. Don't worry! She'll recover very soon! :)

And thanks for 'listening' to my own story about my father-in-law, who is also sick now... I am so glad that I found this forum, and that I can share with you all about everything, not only my immigration.

Good luck to all of us who has been going through the journey and trying hard to adapt to our new lives in the US! :)

  9. Hi Ant,

Yeah that's what confused me. I thought that it was a sample A # on that letter (the one I found it on here) and I was suppose to replace it with mine (cuz I think we only have one number that starts with 'A'?). But then it seems so weird on the letter head. I also don't know if it is necessary. I guess it is just for reference. I will just email the format/ sample to my friends so they can type according to that format.

    Thanks!

PS heehee... I'll reply your email after I've done with my application... It's getting better now. But still I'm waiting for the tax transcripts and have to get the affidavits from my friends. Hopefully I can organise them together and send them out in a few weeks! :)

  10. Hello!

I've just finished organising mine. I did list the names of the people in most photos except for those with too many people inside (I tried to avoid those :P ). I think they are important esp. when they can show that you are with your husband's family members/ relatives and not just some random people, or they are the friends who helped you write the affidavits.

  11. fwaguy,

    Thanks for your fast reply.

I think I read in one thread that it is better to prove that it is really our place, and it being my husband's place without my name doesn't matter. I'm just not sure about it. I bascially have most of the evidence except for the tax transcripts (still waiting for them in mail) and the affidavits from friends. So I really want to know if we need to include the mortgage document. Also in my previous thread, I was told that I should include that document but I can write an explanation about why my name is not on it.

Did anyone include their lease/ mortgage document in the application even only 1 of the names are on it? Any more suggestions? Thanks!

  12. Hello!

I'm still trying to collect evidence for my I-751 now. I've read the instruction of the I-751again. I'm wondering is "Lease or mortgage contracts showing joint occupancy and/ or ownership of your communcal residence (Point #2 under Evidence of the Relationship) a must. It seems to me it is important. But the house was bought under my husband's name a few months I came here. I did find a mortgage contract that my husband speficied that he was married. But then it was blank under 'dependents'. And my name is not on any of the home puchase documents except it can show that he's married at the time. So do I have to include the mortgage documents?

    Thank you for your help!

  13. Hello Ant,

You are really nice and helpful! :)

Yeah I guess I just have to deal with it cuz I chose the difficult way to come here. You know my friend actually said it is easy for her. And she said it only took her around 1.5 yrs to get approved and she actually planned to go to the US to get married. She also said that she got the 10 yr green card already and doesnt have to do the lifting condition application. Well I don't know about all that. She told me that and I was like... wow... that is much easier than my process being I've to apply 3 times to get the 10 yr green card! Anyways, maybe she just forgot the whole process cuz her husband helped her do it (cuz she told me her written English is not that good) :P

You know what... I really wanna finish this and send it out asap. I feel so tired looking at the information/ evidence (literally falling asleep... heehee). It's like I'm doing my college paper/ research... which I used to finish it in the last minute. Hopefully I can get this done very soon this time as i got 'experience'.

OK I've to get back to work now. Chat with you soon! :)

  14. Hello everyone!

I actually talked about this on my other thread. But I figured since it was in the middle of another thread, I'd like to post another new thread to ask this.

My medical insurance is under my husband's company insurance now. And I would use that as an evidence for the removing conditions application. But then I saw that below the dependant part on the document, there is a part for 'beneficiary', and that is not me. I don't know what USCIS will think because my husband put his bro/ sis' names under beneficiaries. I am actually ok with it but since it is on that document, I'm just afraid USCIS will ask / doubt about that. I think my name on his medical insurance is a good evidence so I should include that document. But I'm worried about the beneficiary part. What do you think?

Thank you for your ideas or suggestions!

  15. Hello Ant,

Great to hear from you here again. I just read your link about the documents you submitted. You sure have enough evidence and I am sure you will get approved soon! And sorry to hear about your miscarriage...

About my appliccation, yes it does stress me out a little even I havent even started assembling yet. I am only collecting evidence now. I just think that why I have to apply for so many times before and after I'm here-- K1, AOS, now Remove Conditions, and later Naturalization... I met a friend who also married from Hong Kong to here. But she told me all she did was just to get married here and apply for permanent residency. It seems so easy for her. But why do we have to go through all these stressful processes? I mean we are doing everything legal here. I thought we were not suppose to travel to the U.S. and get married, so I applied for K-1. But it turned out it is the difficult way...

Anyways, I guess I just feel stressed about the whole thing. And yes, I'm also a little concerned to whether to ask my husband to add my names on the car etc. I feel like if he never thought of adding my name on the car/ house, just let it be. I just don't want to give him trouble/ force him to do so. As you said, it may not be good for our relationship. So I guess having joint bank accounts and with my name under his company's medical insurance is enough right?

Speaking of medical insurance, I didn't even know that there's a beneficiary part at the bottom before. I just saw that yesterday. I hope that USCIS won't doubt that. This is cuz the beneficiary was stated at the bottom of the medical insurance document, and of course the beneficiary isn't me. Well I didn't even notice such part before. But I saw that the beneficiaries are his brother and sister. I mean I am not saying that I should be under beneficiary, but will USCIS doubt about that?
