  1. My then fiance and I met online in 2009. I filed for the I-129F in September of 2011. My I-129F was approved in Feb of 2012. It wasn't until April of 2013 that I was able to fly to Tunisia to finally meet him in person.. At this point my then fiance had gone to his interview and was awaiting AP for 10 months. His visa was finally issued on Sept of 2013 and arrived in the USA Dec of 2013. We married the end of Dec 2013, he is now a Green Card holder.

So, yes it is POSSIBLE to get approved without meeting in person. More than welcome to check out my timeline. We were approved against ALL odds! Very stressful long journey, indeed.

Good luck to the both of you , ;)

You can do this without the help of a lawyer, many of us have. The process varies from one person to another. Our journey started back in Sep of 2011. My husband (then fiance) interviewed at the Algeria Consulate on June 21st, 2012. He was put under AP for the following 13 months (there was never an explanation for this lengthy process). After many inquiries from the Congressman and Senator of my State, including the many emails and phone calls on my part. On Aug 1st, 2013 we received an email from the Consulate denying his K1 visa.~ We never gave up ~. I started planing my move to Algeria, and on Aug 18th, 2013 my husband received a phone call from the American Consulate in Algeria requesting his passport and a new medical..... ~ We were APPROVED! ~ Weird, right? Uh huh!.. ( WE BELIEVE IT WAS DIVINE INTERVENTION) :innocent: . His K1 visa was issued on Sept 4th, 2013 and he was finally HOME with me on December 3rd, 2013. We were married on December 30th, 2013 and started our AOS process on Aug 19th, 2014. On January 13th, 2015 we had our interview, we were APPROVED, and TODAY he received his GREEN CARD!

This was a very consuming, lengthy, expensive process. This journey is NOT for the weak!. You CAN'T lack LOVE, you have to really love each other to endure whatever it is you will encounter in your journey. This I think it's the ultimate test of LOVE.

If you truly love each other, you CAN do this and wait whatever time you have to. This process again is NOT made for the WEAK. The process will take whatever time it needs to. You can do this without the help of a Lawyer!

Best of luck in your journey!

  3. Meeting only once only to become engaged is the red flag. Look at it through the eyes of the CO, you had never met, you get engaged during your one and only visit to meet her then you petition her. I know that it is only a requirement that you only have had to meet within the 2 years prior to sending the petition but India is a very high fraud country and they are basically sayng the don;t believe your relationship is real. you say you sent 300-400 pages of supporting evidence, that is too much. Many people who have been denied say they were told by the CO they actually sent too much evidence, it looked as though they were over compensating because of lack of a true relationship. I have seen that several times here on VJ. Did they say they were denying the visa and sending it back for revocation or did they say she was in AP? before running off to marry her you need to clarify that withe the consulate

mimolicious, Your new house is beautiful. Love the deck. Just saying.... Good luck!

  4. For the employment letter they ask for annual salary and I just started a new job recently so is it permissible to put hourly salary or should I just guess on what my annual salary will be?? Which is better??

    Neither!

YOU don't put hourly salary nor guess a annually salary. This is for your "employer" to write. They will know!. Contact Human Resources.

    Good luck!
