we didnt have shot records either, and im pretty sure he has had all his required shot done in his 27 years of life, but the doc ended up giving him two shots, didnt care to inform him which ones, my fiance was too stressed out I guess to even ask what they were, just wanted to get it done and over with, so we dont know which shots he got. So if he has no record, he will im sure get at least one or two shots.

as for the police recs, yea im pretty sure it doesn't matter where he gets it as they don't specify anywhere in the application or the directions that he has to get it at his hometown, which would be ridiculous. He should get it in Istanbul and worst case scenario, if this is going to be in packet 3 you;ll be sending in, they will email you asking for the right one if that one is not, and he will bring it to the interview with him, so either way, its really no biggie.

Here's a link to the USCIS page explaining the form i-134 which is the affidavit of support form for the K-1 visa. The Co-Sponsor is anyone willing to sign this affidavit who makes a qualifying income. They don't have to actually pay anything to do this, they just have to insure that the person coming over will not become a public charge.

One thing you want to do though is make sure that the consulate through which you are applying for the Visa (in your case It looks like Turkey) accepts co-sponsors. I know some do not, but not sure which ones those are.

Hey guys i have another question...last year before they changed the rules, they said that u had to get ur police records from ur birth city or permanent city im pretty sure. Is it like that now? Cuz hes faaar away from his city right now working in istanbul, when he asked the police in his home city and istanbul, they looked at him like he was crazy and said..its all on the computer system, u just print it, its the same from every city. Just wanna make sure its true! Anyone else get the police records from a different city?

Also, when he does his medicals,...he got all his shots but no record of course..they better try to tell him he has to do it again! Its really against our beliefs majorly, and a waste of money and he already got them :/

Anyone have experience of not having a record? What did the doctor say? Were going to the mehmet doctor in ankara...

I didn't even know there was such a thing! I just stuck around here and since the NVC went so fast, I just skipped over that and hopped over to the Australia/New Zealand board Maybe I was better off? Haha!

I like the fact that there are some of us who still check in here even though we already have NOA2. This is just more like home. Plus this is for the K1 journey I thought? Not just the NOA2. We should hunt down our quiet peeps and remind them that some of our family members still need our support! Even as I can see the light at the end of the tunnel brighter each day, I still haven't forgotten about all the people who started this journey with me and who are still waiting.

Anyone else who is getting closer still afraid to plan their wedding? I'm pretty sure we'll make the date we want, and it's not like we are planning a grand event, but I've been procrastinating doing anything. Maybe because I don't want to jinx it. Or something. Hi! Sorry I ddint see this! You should update your profile so we can see what country ur fiance is from! Yes all people iN turkey and iraq have to go to ankara! NVC doesnt assign a date, they just sent it to ankara then now ankara sent us the email stating what we need to take..its the same list as if you just google..us embassy ankara k1..on their website its always up there! Were not rushing though so were not gonna make our appointment yet!

Ya my fiance talked to them, they said they want him to come in 2 days before his interview, get the medical (WHICH IS SUCH A SCAM FOR MONEY, Sorry) and pick it up that evening or if not the next day, then he can go to his interview. I hope they are right!

I didnt read all the replies but I had scheduled my fiance's exam i believe it was for 10 45 am, he was there just around that time maybe couple minutes early, and he was able to get the results the same day, after 5pm, so he just hung out in Ankara for a few hours. I dont know if he talked them into giving him the results same day as he was traveling from another state, or if we just got lucky or if everyone who schedules early can get the same done but this is what happened with us. So if you havent already, try scheduling for early morning, and increase your chances of getting the results same day.

I'm glad that things seem to finally be moving for the VSC-Texas people. Ramsey, I'm sorry your RFEs are taking so long, that's crazy.

We got our Packet 3 via e-mail today. I just have to go pick up my letter from my employer, who has taken longer than I wanted with it. I've been waiting for almost 2 weeks for it. But that will be mailed off tomorrow, and our packet of everything will be mailed in to Sydney in about a week. Yay!

Hey! I still havent gotten the email...grr haha but why havent u joined the may NVC filers? I dont like them all very much. They just seem to complain and get jealous instead of help eachotther out and congratulate...I love my december filers!!

My husband going the 18th to do his medical. We did an early appointment because the email I got from the medical center said that if you go early you can pick the report up that day around 6 pm just before close. If not he will go back that Saturday before noon and get it. Our interview is the 24th.

The medical center lets you schedule the exam up to 30 days before the interview.

Oh so if you get there really early, you can pick it up the same day or day after? Cuz if its ready that fast, I may have him go there 2 nights before his interview, and the first morning he arrives, get his medical, then try to get it that evening picked up or the next day, then the day after that hell go to his interview. But Im terrified if something goes wrong!

The American Hospital Istanbul ceased performing medicals Jan 2013! I called them to check 3 weeks ago to check . So yes another burdensome expensive trip to Ankara for Physical.

He didn't do his medical just yet. His medical appointment is June 18 and his interview is June 25. So after he finishes his medical appointment on the 18th, he will just come home. We both will stay 1 night in Best Western (really close to the embassy & I only paid $78 USD) on June 24 and pick up his results that day. His interview is at 7:40 AM, it would be hard to arrive to Ankara that early in the morning, so we decided to stay the night before.

Oh wow, that may be hard for my fiance to take the bus there, do the medical and come right back the same day! But you seem to be working it out just fine! thanks Ill look into it more!

I also agree that you need to be careful cuz it may not be a scam. If it was a scam, she would just get over here, then start to act weird, or after she got her green card. Why would she want you as her husband even before she came to the US? Be careful us women say and do weird things, and also the fact shes from a foreign country, Who knows whats going on in the poor girls life and family right now

It is much harder to plan for those who live far from Ankara.

Also, note that they will have to pick up their medical results from there, as usually they are not given the same day.

So, my husband got a bus ticket in Kadikoy for about 38 Lira to Ankara about 1 week before his interview and then we will arrive 1 day before his interview to stay in a hotel and pick up his results that day before the interview.

The medical office barely picks up the phone, but when they did they told my husband they are only holding the medical results for about a few weeks and that they are unable to mail them to the embassy or to your home.

At least its not too expensive! But how did he do his medical already? Did he go before and get his medical done then go back? Cuz i really wonder how many days he needs to wait from when he gets it done, to when he can pick it up, its a waste of money to have him stay in the hotel for a week there :/

Any good hotels near the embassy?

It changed this year. They have to go to Ankara. The embassy always answers my emails in a day or two (4 emails so far all answered) I use the form on the website.

In Turkey the only authorized panel facility to conduct medical examinations for U.S. immigrant visas is in Ankara. We have requested travel.state.gov web site to be updated with the current information.

Im 100 percent positive they used to have a doctor listed saying u could get your medical done at the american hospital in Istanbul..but now you can only get it done in Ankara?? Im upset cuz thats a little harder to plan, Hed have to stay in ankara for several days to make sure its enough time to get it done. I dont find it fair that in such a big country, they only have 2 doctors that are both in Ankara to get a medical.

Anyone have any input? Its impossible to get ahold of the embassy in Ankara!
