Hey guys, finally getting closer to the finish line! I can't find any info on this. I have my original birth certificate, but it seems to be the shorter version. Do I need the extended version, if I can only present the short how will that impact my interview this coming Tuesday? Thanks guys

Hi my appointment was scheduled at 10.30 but I went at 9.30 because I was sick of waking about, I was in and out by 10.30, so it doesn't hurt to go early

I was thinking the same, my interview is Tuesday 29 Jan, would be nice to talk to someone going through the same process. For the post above, my paperwork was cleared on 20 Dec and got my interview date yesterday, hang in there x

Congratulations!!!!! Its nice to hear about life after the interview and move, this will be me in a couple of months....all the best and enjoy

Called the department of state and they said they have all of the paperwork and are waiting for an appointment date, anyone knows what this means or should I be patient?

Hey everyone, does anyone have experience recently flying with a rabbit in cabin, I know a lot of airlines changed their policy and no longer allow pets in cabin internationally. I do have hope with united airlines, whom I need to call....ill be flying from Heathrow, London to Newark USA, is like to think it'll be ok but any advice would be great, thanks

Ah that's good news for you, hopefully mine won't be far behind, tim did you call the us embassy number, or another one?

Called them, it takes 4 weeks to log d2001 and 2 weeks to send the interview letter, so I'm looking at waiting another 3 weeks suppose I can kiss goodbye to mid Jan loooooool
-
Yep, good luck, let me know how you get on too, I was looking to move the same time, I'm a little disappointed I haven't heard, I advised I was available for a cancellation, fingers crossed!

Hey guys, I've sent everything to the London embassy, and they have my medical results and my form of readiness, does anyone know how long it takes for the appointment date to come through or roughly what date the appointments are being sent out now. Thanks everyone x

Hi, its the London Embassy...I re-checked the Embassy website and that states about 3 weeks and I have to wait for a letter for instruction, I may still give them a cheeky call. Thanks

When I went to the K1 medical a couple of weeks ago, the vaccination nurse checked what I had from drs records and filled out a formal vaccination checklist, she gave this to me and stated I needed to keep it safe for when I move to the states for the next stage? Can you remember getting such a form? This wouldnt have been in your sealed packet. Hope this helps...congrats on the move...not long for me now I hope

Hey Everyone,
So I'm most of the way through the K1 process...had my medical and sent away the final packet with form and letter to say I'm ready for interview. I did this a couple of weeks ago now. My question is this - does the embassy contact me with an interview date, or do I call the embassy to arrange and pay? I'm confused about this and don't want to delay the process more than necessary.
Thanks, Lisa

I looked into this a while back, as I will be going home to visit family and friends on a regular basis...it costs just as much for a one way as it does a return. Moving to another country is a big step, and I will be booking a return ticket for cheapness and to have that window of visiting. Good luck for the future

Thanks, I think I'll need to speak to Citizens Advice, I know it's important to be responsible and really don't want to have to go down this route...

Thanks guys, that makes sense

Hey Everyone,
I cant believe I'm asking this, but I need to weigh up my options...Im most of the way through the K1 process, and am finding it difficult to sell my home. Ive thought about renting it out, but the monthly costs would still be about £300 plus. I could either leave the house on sale or hand the keys back, and end up paying a deficit of 15k.
My question is this...if I file for bankruptcy, will this affect my adjustment of status or anything in the future? Please, constructive information only, as I feel bad enough asking the question as my home is my responsibility.
Thanks guys

Hey Everyone,
Coming towards the end of the K1 Visa, I had my medical on Monday, and am looking to arrange the interview in London. I have a question about my fiance sending the affidavit of support - does he have to send it via the post direct to the embassy, or am I able to bring it home with me when I visit him next week for 7 days, and send it via Royal Mail? Also I want to let the Embassy know Im ready for the interview to get one asap, but what would happen if Im in the states, do the Embassy contact you via post, or can you arrange the appointment over the phone?
Thanks for your advice - it feels good knowing Im coming towards the end of this stage and I get to be with my love!!

They were likely referring to the IV_15 page on the Embassy site, which lists the forms mentioned upthread: http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html
That makes perfect sense now I see it on a page...I've got all of the info now, thanks everyone!!
Would have been easier if the letter could have been re-sent, but nevermind visajourney helps again \o/ yay

Thanks for the information here guys...whilst on the phone to the embassy, the advisor also stated that I need to fill out form IV-15 - however I cant find this form listed - any thoughts??
