  1. I can answer some of your questions:

You should send an email to the U.S. Embassy in Lagos at lagosIV@state.gov to ask when your interview date is. They will reply you within a week with your interview date and packet 3 attached. They will also include further instructions regarding medical exams and how to pay the $240 fee (I believe it can be paid in dollars or naira). I have read that more recent letters of intent you and your fiance provide should be sufficient to prove engagement (in addition to photos, chatlogs, emails, etc).

  2. My fiance did his medical today. He arrived there at 8:30am and finished at 1pm. He paid N12,000 at the bank and then paid N8,000 for vacination. so his total was just N20,000. The doctor explained that the vacines you get depend on your medical history and my fiance only required the bare minimum. Anyway, it was not as stressful as we anticipated and he will pick up his result on Thursday.

    We thank God.

  3. Dear VJ Members,

My fiance's interview is in January, and we are currently compiling all our evidence. I am wondering how we can show that we are planning a wedding when our plan is to have a small court wedding and celebrate with close family and friends. Is there anything we can provide to show we will have a court wedding? We are going through Lagos consulate so we want to provide as much evidence as possible.

    I appreciate your responses

  4. Medicals went very smooth today! The doctor I met was very nice and kind! Used the Children's hospital @ Raymond Njoku, I got there about 7:30am and wrote my name down on No 5.. by 8am we were given teller to pay at Zenith bank(N12,000). We all rushed down to zenith about 7 of us as of the time we left to pay. The Zenith bank is just a walk down the street..Came back did the blood work, weight&height then proceeded to X-ray (Ladies be sure to tke off ur top& bra). Then was asked to go upstairs to see the Doctor, the consent form was taken frm us all ..then WALA was my turn..the doctor was nice treated me like a VIPgood.gif LOL. some questions were asked then I paid N16,500 for the Vaccination. I was injected 3! Very painful. So guys that's my medical journey and pls if u are awaiting to do urs endeavor to be early!

    GOODLUCK

Thanks for this post. My fiance is going for his medical tomorrow. This should help him know what to expect.

  5. Send an email to Lagos immediately to enquire about your interview date use LagosIV@state.gov . Put the case number starting with LGs in the subject line . I can almost assure you that your interview is slated for Janauary ,2013. You have a couple of things to put together before that date so hustle. All the best

Ps: It will take them 4-5 working days to respond but they will.

I got my fiancé's interview date 4 days after I sent lagos consulate an email.

  6. Hi for those who hv done their medicals pls which is the closest to the bank we pay to, was told the bank is close to one of the hospitals.. is it the CHILDREN'S PRACTICE or the Q-LIFE CLINIC. Also any tips would be appreciated like time to be there etc. thnx

I have read that the bank is very close to children's practice and that it is cheaper than q-life clinic. Also you might need both interview letter and NVC letter.

  7. While I am waiting to get my Lagos case number from NVC, I have some questions regarding packet 3 and Affidavit of Support.

What is form I-693? I did not see the form as part of packet 3 forms I downloaded through the U.S. Consulate (lagos) website. Also, I am a full-time student and get most of my financial support from federal financial aid so my brother has agreed to be a co-sponsor. Does Nigeria accept siblings to co-sponsor or does the co-sponsor have to be a parent? Do I also have to submit I-134 along with other evidence (pay-stub, bank account statement, tax return)? I have a part time job so I can provide these documents.

Thank you in advance for your replies.
