Well, you have all the right to blame obama. He has made this process much more difficult for everyone. But what can I say, when you have "obama koolaide" drinkers on this site, you will probably be called a racist before its all said and done. Why don't some of you watch the news? Just last week, an employee for the USCIS, working at Vermont, resigned due to an on going investigation that discovered she, and others at USCIS, are using our hard earned money that we pay for these processes, and our tax dollars, for their own "sexual escapades." Also, Secretary of DHS, Janet Napolitano, stated in a press conference that the number one priority of the USCIS, right now, is protected status of Syrian nationals here in the US, and that other visa situations can and may be slowed down or halted for this. This is to protect the Syrians who are here, and not force them to go back to their own country when their visas expire, while they are in the midst of war. Well, I did some homework, and I have discovered that Vermont is the Center dealing with the Syrians. Also, secretary Napaoliatano was asked about other visa processes, dealing with US Citizens of family of, and her statement was as follows, and I quote:
"I really don't care at the moment. We need to show Syria that we have their back and will help them in this time of desperation. President Obama gives me the power to do what I want to do. This is what I want to do, what America wants to do, and what I am Doing!"
So those of you who are dogging the OP for blaming obama, you all need to get off his back and do your own research before ridiculing him. So OP, I have your back, and I completely understand and agree with you. You are not alone here. I hope and pray you will hear something soon.
GOD BLESS!!!
PS> For anyone trying to blame PRESIDENT BUSH.... I have lived in Peru with my fiancee and her family in the past..I have personally watched the American Dollar deteriorate before my very own eyes while obama has been is office. When President Bush left office, $50 American Dollars equaled to 577.26 Peruvian Soles ...Now, after obama has been in office, $50 American Dollars equals to 130.62 Soles. You people do the math. Also, I have had several Peruvians ask me why Bush cannot be President again...their economy was booming and their poverty rate was going down when Bush was in office. Now they are declining fast. I have seen this first hand, so don't tell me that I have no clue as to what I am talking about.
Sorry for going off topic.
As always, have a nice day!
No one is calling anyone racist, Obama is not to blame for how slow Vermont is moving he dosen't work there does he?
You are obviously one of those people who think that Obama was suppose to just come into office and fix everything that was already broken before he got there so your so called observations are of no value. Point is if OP isn't willing to have patience in the process it takes for he and his wife to be in the US together then he shouldn't bother going any further with it. If you want Bush to be president again why don't you go re-elect him? you are speaking about money value why don't you speak of all the Americans that bush sent to war? all the innocent lives lost? people with sons and daughters? atleast Obama fought to bring home those remaining soldiers to thier families. The man is not a superhero he can't fix everything overnight so stop dreaming. It takes time to rebuild things that have been broken!

Wow you all need to stop blaming President Obama for everything, he has fixed more in this country than bush ever could have done so stop riding the man! i wonder why it is that u don't like him? because he is not a fake like romney? anyways if u don't like the President maybe you really do need to move back to wherever you are from and stop pointing fingers.- LlamaInvasion, Xanax, Jacque2012 and 6 others

Report back as to how that goes for him...that will be the airport my fiance will fly into as well. They are pretty nice there so hopefully all goes well!
No problem i will let u know how it goes.

I didn't read your original response as judgmental or anything other than being helpful.
On VJ, you have to expect soem certain sections will take offense even if all you said was good morning.
i wonder what you mean by "some sections"? misunderstanding something someone said is not a crime and i am sure u see that i responded to LIFE with an apology for that so please ur sarcastic comments are not necessary keep them to yourself. Thank you.
-
Oneilsbaby since that is the case then your husband should be fine.
Yes, thank you for your input sorry i misunderstood ur statement before as i appreciate everyone's advice at all times.
As for food i told him not to take any, as i am sure that would only make the wait for him to get out the airport longer.

Because I have been at POE where the dogs sniffing have been able to pick up on residual on clothing, it doesn't mean they were guilty, but maybe the night before they hung out with friends.
You'll needs to get real, I didn't accuse anyone of anything, but I am giving you notice of what I have seen at many POE's.
At FLA, they don't even let you off of the plane before they send in the sniffing dogs. They have you line up and let the dogs sniff. If this is his first time flying, he needs to be aware of things that could possibly go wrong.
I am well aware of that fact, i have traveled that airport numerous times. And my husband keeps no such "friends" so no he won't have a need to worry about that.
-
Nope he won't have any problems as long as his pockets has no angel dust residue.
im not really sure why you think that comment was even relevant

Depends on Airport where he POEs. I suggest avoiding Miami, I have problems at Miami. Losing luggage, long lines for customs, and I almost miss my flight everytime because I am in customs for about 3 hours.
Ok thx to all who replied.....i checked the POE and havent seen any reviews for Orlando international from Jamaicans. but i suppose he wont have any issues though since from my experience that airport has rather curteous staff.

Ok so i am just a little curious as to what exactly happens at the American airport when my husband arrives. He will be coming in from montego bay so i know he wont have much hassle in Jamaica but once he gets to the airport here in america what is it that happens with that envelope? will he be taken to a separate room before goin through immigration nd customs?
-
Ok so my husband is a very big fan of breadfruit and ackeee lol and i must say i am missing the Jamaican food as well so he wanted to travel with a small knapsack {hand luggage) containing some good JA food. I told him i don't think it's such a good idea though since he is a first time traveler so i wanted to know if anyone thinks that customs would really harass him with the food just because he would be traveling for the first time?
-
yes the package will be separate. he will get everything in one DHL envelope, it will have the DO NOT OPEN BROWN ENVELOPE and his passport separate. update us about when you get the passport so we can have an idea when ours will be delivered
Okay Hubby got the passport today. it was ready for pickup since yesterday.
-
Ok thank you very much
so the package will be separate from the passport right? cause i know he's not suppose to open it.
-
Ok so i have read on some people's consulate reviews where the spouses got an envelope with paperwork in it after the interview that should not be opened until arriving in the US by an immigration officer. My husband didnt get one he just got the DHL ticket after he was done so i just wanted to know if it's normal that he didnt get a package to take with him to the US or is the package only for certain categories of filings?
-
When it says "arrived at DHL facility" you can pick it up. You can always call DHL in JA and they will tell you too. Soon come!!!!!
ok it arrived today nd is available 4pick up

The interview only needs a ds230 form to be scheduled. the 134 they said should be presented at the interview, i sent him a package by mail last week with all the stuff that is required for sponsor. I will try emailing them tomorrow and see what they say. How long will they take to respond? Will they cancelled everything? will there be a procedure?
Hi as far as i see your fiance seems to be fraud, his attitude suggests that once he gets that visa he is planning to leave you. i encourage you not to allow him to get the visa through you. Also the 7 tourist visa applications are kind of a big red flag to show you that all he wants is to leave Jamaica and not actually bcuz he wants to get maried and have a life with you. Please think on these things. You can email the embassy and they will reply to you withtin 5 business days. Good luck. Dont let this man use you.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who helped me along this journey and encouraged me to stay strong through it all it was definately worth it. Hubby will be here with me September 8th!
To everyone heading toward the finish line as well i will have u in my prayers. God bless.

ok for all the people jumping down my throat about this let me say that the sponsor for my husband has no children in her household, it is her alone so my husband would make the number of ppl in her household up to 2. now we sent in 2010 and 2011 tax returns plus pay stubs for those past years and this year (2012) we also sent in job letter, bank account statements and proof of assets so if my sponsor meets those requirements and is being paid WAAAYYYY ABOVE the poverty guideline are you going to tell me that i should not be upset that the US embassy in Jamaica is now telling me that we DO NOT meet the requirements? i find that hard to comprehend since we know for a fact that we have our financial stuff in order and up to standard! i dont really care who makes the final decision it seems that the embassy then needs to train its Jamaican officers how to read and comprehend financial records!
-
Ok so my oroginal sponsor was not approved by the embassy in Jamaica so i got a new person. my question is if she sponsors for my husband's papers will it cause a problem with the fact that her mom is also being filed for right now and she was suppose to be the sponsor for her as well? like if she sponsors for my husband can she still sponsor for her mom as well when the time comes around?
-
OK so i am super mad right now and fed up with Jamaica's system! they are SOOO SLOPPY!!!my husband got a call yesterday from the Jamaican embassy saying that the person we used for joint sponsor isnt sufficient which is complete BULL! because the sponsor for my husband needs to make 18,912 dollars according to the poverty guidelines and our sponsor makes $26,000 so wat r they talkin about? i clled NVC and explained to them and even hey dont understand what the Jamaican embassy is saying bcuz im sure NVC is used as the clearing house 4 all paperwork and if there was sumthing wrong with the affidavit they would not send it to Jamaica! it was a Jamaican person tht called my husband so i am wondering if possibly th person made a mistake bcuz not all of them r familiar with how to go about reading into the financial details of a case. NVC told me they should b using the current income of the sponsor (not the tax return) to determine if the sponsor is eligible. my sponsor only worked half the year in 2011 so she made half of the 26,000 but RIGHT NOW according to the pay stubs and other evidence we sent in she makes 26,000 which nvc says is wat the embassy should be using because that is her current income! and thats wat they used to determine that our sponsdor was eligible. I am just mad bcuz its 2weeks b4 my husbands interview and such a error is being made by the Jamaican embassy! has anyone gone through this problem? please help.....i will be contacting the embassy early monday morning!
NVC has also informed me that f i have any problems with the embassy after trying to contact them i should call back to speak with a head manager bcuz they even went over the financial papers with me on the phone and said there is no way the Jamaican embassy would get my case from them if the financial evidence was not up to par with the current requirements.

Update - our visa was approved July 12 (last Thursday) and was ready today Wednesday (July 18). Not too shabby!!
WOW CONGRATS!!! that was fast (4 jamaica) LOL!!! i hope my husband will be as lucky to get such a quick pickup time 4 his visa.
-
The time frame does vary as everything else. As for picking it up, it will have to be done a DHL they will not mail it to him. Also there is one standard fee for DHL that is paid at the Embassy. There is no fee for faster service. Best of Luck!
ok can you tell me how he would know when to pick it up? would they call him and let him know when its available or does he have to call to find out? and if he has to call who would he call DHL or the embassy?
-
ok so i was wondering how long after interview does it take to get the visa in JamaicA? my husband wouldnt have it mailed to him he would pick it up at the DHL office so does tht make a difference? and can u pay to have ur visa at a faster time than regular?

I'm sure you are not the only person that lost a friend in the war! and like i said OBAMA brought home the soldiers that were still alive! When you can tell me which one of these Presidents didn't use "WE THE PEOPLE'S" money to do something or the other at some point then you can talk to me. ALL presidents have used tax payer's money to do something at some point so i'm sure Obama won't be the last and he surely wasn't the first. I don't understand why it is so hard for people to give this man the credit he deserves for what he has accomplished, atleast he is trying. He is a genuine person along with his family and that is not hard to see. Hey let's hope Romney wins and then i'm sure ALLLLLLL the problems of the world will go away.
