  1. I was just in the phil in May. I flew Cathay Pacific and flight was on time and landed at 11:35 PM on May 16 , 2012. I went through customs/immigration after midnight. I have my passport and boarding passes right here in front of me and my passport is stamped May 17 , 2012. In my case its stamped next day.

  2. It sounds like the consulate is including your daughter so to be above the 125% poverty guideline you need to make $23,862. They will use line 22 on your tax return for income. Do you have a court order or divorce decree ordering child support? Im fairly sure your child needs to be listed as you would be responsible for support living with you or not.

  3. :wow: Talking about rip-offs. Shouldn't these be all inclusive with the fare? I've used Korean, Cathay Pacific and PAL and I didn't have to pay a dime for such convenience items.

It should be included but I have nothing against Hawaiin Airlines. It was more of the fact I didnt want my fiance feeling uncomfortable without a credit card and not knowing what she would be charged for or not. I thought it could make her feel uncomfortable. It is her first international flight . It made her uncomfortable also that she would have to gather her luggage and do POE in Hawaii, then recheck luggage in 1 hour and 55 minute layover. With these factors we decided to go with a different flight. If we were flying together I would have gone with Hawaiin Airlines for sure. The travel agent told me POE through Hawaii is great and that there are many filipinos in the Airport to help out. I wasnt recommending not using Hawaiin Air, I was just making people aware . We plan to go back next year and we plan to try Hawaiin Airlines.

  4. I just booked a flight for my fiance on ANA Airlines. I called and asked the airline if a transit visa was needed for my filipina fiance and they informed me it is not needed for same day connecting flights in Narita. If your asking about Narita to Haneda that I do not know. They assured me its not a problem and even said if she missed her connecting flight due to airline that they would assist her with customs and get her a visa to stay in hotel overnight. They assured me there is no problem.

  5. That's really cheap, but it is not the case for LAX. :(

The cheap flights for $579.70 that I found with a quick search on ANA Airlines site from Manila to LAX is on tuesdays. I got the fare Nov 20, Nov 27, Dec 4. I didnt search that hard so may be other days. Anyways when you search it will say fare is $618.50 but click select and continue and it will eventually recalculate fare and it will be $579.70. It is the flight NH950 and NH006. I found it on them dates so there are probably other dates available its just a pain to search one day at a time.

  6. On Hawaiian, the last two round trip flights, they supplied adaptors for your mp3 earbuds/headphones to fit into the passenger seat dual-input so I could watch the movies/listen to music. In the packet they also provided sleep blinders! It's a 10+ hour flight from MNL to HNL. What route is ANA taking? MNL to Tokyo then SFO?

    ANA flight is :

MNL to NRT - 4 hrs 10 min

    Layover - 2 hrs 30 min

NRT to SFO - 9 hrs 5 min

    Total -15 hrs 45 min

    $580

  7. I was all set to book on Hawaiin Airlines until I found out you have to pay $15 for the in seat entertainment and even rent the head phones. I was told you need to pay for it with a credit card which my fiance doesnt have. I figured that it would be boring without it so I booked with ANA Air.

  8. Not a US citizen or green card holder.

Choose this option. That looks like ANA Airlines site. Booked my fiances flight with them. Very low fares one way. Where you able to use your credit card to purchase? I paid $580 MNL to SFO. I did have to get same flight from cheapoair though because the ANA site wouldnt accept my credit card as it was third party

  9. If it was me I would make sure my forms were 100% before sending them so as to avoid a RFE. It could be fine but what if it's not? You know what I mean?

I feel the same way. I would not want white out on my forms.

Is it possible since they filled it out that you could fill it out using the information they provided , print it out and send to them for signatures. That way it will be easy ,you wont feel like your annoying them and it will be done the way you need it ?

  10. If your fiance is in Manila you can try St Raphael travel. They have a special K1 rate with Philippine Airlines. You can get quotes through yahoo messenger. Their screen names on on site. I have never used them but if I purchased i was suppose to Xoom the money to my fiance and she would go in person to buy ticket or they have a bank to bank option. They dont accept credit cards from USA. They do need your K1 Visa # to buy ad it is a special rate.

To give you a idea I was quoted a flight on PAL for Dec 6 from Manila to San Francisco. Total price was $685 oneway all taxes included, including the 1620 pecos Philippine travel tax which is about $40. The cheapest I found anywhere else in the USA was $852 and that did not include the 1620 Pecos tax.

  11. My exwife and her husband had the same problem . They were able to open a checking account at Bank of America. Its worth a chance . Another bank that was willing to help them was Union Bank of California. There are a few banks out there but it takes work to find the ones not using Chexsystems and credit checks. Heres a link to try. Cabt guarantee it will work but it did for them. Hope it helps.

  12. Could they not have done direct consular filing? It looks like its available. Maybe Im wrong. I met a couple who had similar situation in the phil and did CR1 with DCF . They were able to meet the requirements for residency in Phil. They used their family in the USA and had there family write up a lease to prove they had a residence to stay in USA. Im sorry that im not familar with Belgium Consulate and maybe someone can verify if its possible as a option.

  13. While its not advised to buy airfare until visa is in your hand it is not mandatory when buying your ticket in the USa or online. However some Philippine travel agents in the Phil have special deals with airlines for visa holders and will need visa before selling tickets. With that said I gambled and bought my fiances ticket before having visa in hand because her flight plans were 6 weeks after approval and I felt tge risk if not getting visa by then was low. I booked with cheapoair.com and already registered and got etickets directly off the airlines website. At no time was I ever asked for visa.

  14. I bought my fiance a android phone. We installed the sim from her smart bro into the phone. I have a android phone also. You simply install the viber app on both phones for free. You can call and text 24/7 for free. We talk and text all day every day for free. In the setting you can also email your text history to yourself and print out for your interview. I also took screen shots of calls to her number as viber will keep call log in your default cell phone log with all other calls you make. It was very easy to just do so every few days and had plenty of proof of relationship.Sure there was a start up cost for her phone but she loved the present :). You can also use skype, ym etc on the smart phones. Can also use iphones and i think blackberry has viber now. Im always on the go so it worked perfect for me. Also you can connect to wifi if its available. Smart worked best where my fiance lives . Depending where you live globe or sun may work better . Works great for us.
