still no welcome letter niether GC, same as if you local USCIS asked me to wait for more 30 days till nov 21st so lets see what will happen; they asked me the same question whether I have submitted the packet to the immigration or not? and thats so obvious we did!!!

please keep me posted with your comments; you can always apply for ssn AND WILL GET IT IN FEW DAYS AFTER VERIFICATION...

hi, its more than 4 weeks and still i do not get my welcome letter or GC, what should I do , I went to local office as well to enquire as per CSR of USCIS but the local officer said they can not create my file untill it is created at Texas centre. I am really confused and worried...

Make sure they have the correct address for you, but the greencard can take up to 3 months to arrive (it did for me- same day as the welcome letter, different envelope ). They know there is no hurry with getting the physical greencard because you have the stamp in your passport acting as temp greencard for a year, so they are not making it a priority.

Its more than 30 days; I contacted USCIS they asked me to take an infopass with local office when I went there in local office they said to wait for more 30 days ..infact CSR at USCIS told me that local office can create your file but they didnt..that means they dont want to do it now ..they want me to wait for 30 more days...

Is it possible to get a tracking number for my green card after POE?

Yes it is! Follow VJ member Darnell's advice:

"Call USCIS, get a human, ask for the TRACKING NUMBER on the green card.

Yes, such a thing exists, and they will give it to you when asked.

Then call USPS and inquire for status.

In the end, if USPS sent it back to USCIS, you'll need to call USCIS again, talk with an ISO about 'returned mail pieces', go over your address again on the telephone, and ask to have all returned mail pieces sent back to you."

they said my alien file is not created in the system they cant see anything now..so there is no tracking neither Alien no uptill yet..what should I do then...

Appreciate your help soon; I entered USA on sep 21st and its been 20 days no signs of green card neither welcome letter; i tried calling USCIS they asked me to wait for 30 days,then I went for SSN they have told me there is no signs of entry in their system and they will verify it from USCIS in 4 weeks.

What should the next step should I do?

From where I should call and ask about my address conformation or mail returned?

Any suggestions.

I am back and Alhamdullilah celebrated my anniversary with my hubby in USA; one question again just let me know from where to call and ask about green card which is pending its been 15 days and i havent got my GC further can we make our social security before green card arrives, if yes then let me know the phone no . to call.

it was the same case for me... i mentioned the wedding day date not nikkah date...

I am just confirming if my POE woudl be changed does it matter, my relatives who are there in USA told it does not matter as far as you have all the documents with yourself plus in the first airport at US where we expect our first immigartion we can always update our address as there is a counter who updates the address.

After an AP of 3.5 weeks, I got my visa on Wednesday, Alhumdulillah! The call came out of the blue... my father received the call from Amex at my family home, from whence he called me at my parents-in-law's place. My husband was to leave on 2nd Sep and I had a ticket too, which we were going to cancel today but now that the visa's here, I'm due to leave for the US in about 36 hours, Insha'Allah.

Relieved, excited, panicked.... more details later. Prayers for everyone!!

I could not have put it in any better terms then this, Eabbas thats great news promotions are always great, infact in a way we are all looking forward to getting promoted... just out of AP to Visa Holders and eventually citizens. i was approved just in 5mins the black lady took my interview and she sent my passport back in karachi just in 24 hours wowwwwwww....i told her about my wedding anniversary and she was smiling and said celebrate your aniversary in 22 days ....i am so thankfull to ALLAH

call NVC every day..today I got my visa approved..and my lawyer said the same thing but I cal NVC every day...so chil, you can speed up the process not your lawyers....

hey Riz gud luck and keep us in loop with your review..i have my interview next week and I am in similar situtaion very nervous and depressed..everything seems fine but never know about CO...myself and hubby; we practised on video chat with all the possible ansers and dates and his latest visit toPakistan our honeymoon, habbits, favourites, dishes, family members, his income, his job, his friends, his immigration date from Pakistan to USA..and many things so you should also do some kind of moke interview with your hubby GUD LUCK and keep me in your prayers ..as well on what date you have your interview...

Butt bhai you will get it in by next week start, dnt worry:)they will schedule your wife interview by oct 1-2 week..hopefully

my sister got her visit visa just last week fri day she was approved...and no AP kind pf paper has been given..she had 5 years multiple visa and now its renewed...hope mine CR1 will be approved as well InshAALLAH:)

I am preparing for my interview now adays like documents, photos, evidences etc..just few concerns..

1: if CO will ask me about my any relative lives in US then do you guys should I tell them yes, my own sister lives there with her family they are green card holders so do you guys think it should be OK to mention, I have heard from few people not to tell at the time of interview dnt know why?

2.when i was engaged my husband was not here in Pakistan obviously he was in US and it was only 2 months in between commitment and wedding, infact my husband came here in Pakistan for marriage after 8 years of his last visit in our wedding, so what should I do when they will ask me about our first meeting which is a common question in interview.
