I had a problem with needing to provide additional evidence because they don't count photos and chat logs as primary evidence apparently, and they don't want affidavits either. They're looking for either plane tickets of a trip to visit each other, or even a copy of a credit card statement showing transactions made on a trip to visit each other and that you were in their country or vise versa. Just make sure that the copy has all the info, like name, address, etc., visible. You could also throw in a date-stamped pic of you two if you want as well.

If you explain it to whomever is signing your marriage certificate you should be able to keep it after they sign it and bring it to the courthouse to file yourself. That way you can ask on the spot for as many copies as you need since it really only takes them a minute to make them. When I did this they didn't have a problem with it and they gave me the impression it's pretty standard since most people want to change their name right away. Just make sure you have all your other evidence documents ready and you could file your package the same day you file your marriage certificate if you're worried about it.

FYI, when I was checking my NOA2 status and it finally said they were processing past my date, that meant that they had finished processing mine, but it still took a good week for the system to update the info and for them to mail it out. Use the K1 processing times guideline on here for more info and give them a call if you want to see if they have any new info yet. Guaranteed if you check the status website next week, or even friday, it will say they have made a decision. And if the cousin thing is a problem then the decision will be no, but you should know either way within a few days, they just need to post it.

I had the exact same thing happen with my K1 petition, except that my pics were date stamped AND we held up a local newspaper to prove the date like kidnappers do. We were just asked for evidence at the end of april, and in it they said that any pictures are considered secondary evidence anyway. But apparently any debit or credit card statements from the petitioner showing purchases made in Canada from when he came up to visit me (not ones where I went down to see him, since Im not the petitioner) that show the city and country, date and his name on the statement are considered primary evidence. If I were you I would have whoever the petitioner is call immigration now and say that you noticed you left something out and ask if you cant send it now. It would hopefully save you from the grueling process I am in.

Does she still have her plane tickets? Or what about bank or credit card statements showing purchases in the city you claim to have met in? That's supposed to be good enough for primary evidence on a K1.
