  2. I think we all need to gathered around down here in Ecuador and make a visit to the consulate. If I don't hear something in May, I might just lose it completely! headbonk.gif

You're right! I can't believe it's almost May! You know, my birthday is on April 30th, so if we got our P4 on that Tuesday I can't say I'd be disappointed. whistling.gif I have to say, though, Iove seeing everybody come in with just their case completes, and leave a month or so later with their approved visas! Everyone else's good news makes me feel better. luv.gif

Don't know how you are holding it together, i'm freaking out waiting 17 days now. Hope you get interview soon!

  3. So happy for all my peeps here (ur like my babies) getting approvals.

Not to be bias but hallelujah Nigeria. We fought the law and WE won. The BIG Lagos doesn't look so scary now.

I know this is a group effort and thank you NikiR, Ndu26, oopartiv and others who keep this thread up to date.

I peek in now and than. And soon I pray will be able to get fully back here (I mean next month is almost here goodness).

Thanks to all for your concern, prayers. And throwing up a "look after dwheels" to God.

I feel the love and you know what. If God has to use my humiliation and just total wreck of things to show people how to come together and be kind and show compassion. Well it was accomplished.

Thank u all. Okay who has next now.

I think I need to personally go down to Ecuador and kick some butt. This is so no bueno. ;)

Good to see you again on here dwheels! Hey, i'm getting frustrated, 17 days since case complete and now word on interview...Any thoughts?

  4. Just receive the interview appointment letter . May I ask is that possible to reschedule the interview to an earlier date?! If so, who should I talk to ?!

Did you get the letter by email? or in the snail mail? I was told you can call the Embassy directly after they set an appointment and try, but most of the time they do not change unless emergency. Just hear say, so interested to see what others have heard.

  5. Hey gang!!,

Okay we have good news and we have better news. It was probably a good thing that my wife and I both called St Luke's two days before her planned arrival in Manila. We were both told by a male staff member that all she had to do was provide an NVC number. Well as it turned out I received via email one more document the night before she was to leave for Manila. I scanned and emailed her a copy. Following is the page:

    April 8, 2013

    Dear Principal Applicant:

The immigrant visa petition recently filed on your behalf is now eligible for further processing at the

National Visa Center (NVC). You will need the following identification numbers to carry out the next

    steps in the immigration process:

    Your NVC Case Number: MNL2013XXXXXX

    Your Invoice I.D. Number: 330XXXXX

    Your Beneficiary I.D. Number: 332XXXXX

Keep this letter in a safe place.

You will need the identification numbers again during the immigration process.

The first stage of visa processing is to establish communication with the NVC by registering an agent

and your agent's contact information with the NVC. Your agent is a person you choose to receive

communications from the NVC on your behalf. You may act as your own agent, or you may choose your

petitioner, a family member, a friend, an attorney, an immigrant assistance professional, or any other

person you trust to represent you.

If you decide to register another person as your agent, the NVC strongly recommends choosing a person

with e-mail capability and a postal mailing address in the U.S.A. because postal mail delivery can be

unreliable in some parts of the world. If you act as your own agent the NVC recommends e-mail as the

quickest and most efficient form of communication.

    NVC Case Number: MNL2013xxxxx

Along with this was the i8nstructions to file for the CHOICE OF ADDRESS AND AGENT FORM. As you can see the above form provides three numbers. When the guard told my wife she needed her Embassy Appointment Letter she told him she did nit have one. She turned on her charm and the guard agreed to allow her in. Well, once at the US window the clerk there asked how she got in without the letter. She explained that she and her husband had called two days ago and we were both told by a male staffer that ALL SHE NEEDED WAS THE NVC NUMBER. THE US DESK CLERK THEN ASKED IF MY WIFE HAD ANY DOCUMENTS WITH THE NVC NUMBER PRINTED ON IT ALONG WITH HER NAME TO PROVE THAT SHE REALLY DOES HAVE AN NVC NUMBER. FORTUNATELY I HAD INCLUDED IN MY WIFE'S LAST MINUTE PAPERS A COPY OF THE ABOVE LETTER WHICH INCLUDED HER COMPLETE NAME, NVC NUMBER AND OTHER NUMBERS. The clerk looked at that form and said, okay no problem. So will we ever know if the US desk would have allowed her to the exam I guess we will never know. Here is her report on the services therein: She lined up at 4:00 a.m. outside St. Lukes. She said there were about 100 persons already in line when she got there. The guard began letting them in at around 6:30 a.m. My wife was pleasantly surprised to find that persons were divided into groups based on destination country. So my wife heading for the USA got the number 10. She got her chest x-ray first at about 6:45 a.m. She had completed all of her first days tests by 10:30 and waited for final instructions until about 11:00 a m. At 11:00 a.m. she was given instructions to return tomorrow morning at 7:30 a.m. for her immunizations, five (5) I think. They have told her that upon her return in the morning she will have her immunizations as follows: first shot on the first floor, second shot on the second floor and so on until she has her final shot on the fifth floor. Once she has had her immunizations they will have her stand by for a while while they finalize her report and when they have it completed they are going to give her something (not sure what) and she will be on her way. One word of caution, the medical expires in 6 months so if you believe that you Embassy appointment is going to be way off you might want to wait. I for one am very happy that we got the jump on this. Now when she gets her Embassy appointment we will not have to sweat the physical. So this is what happened. Oh and by the way. She said the staff had very serious face and acted very gruff, but she would smile and tun on the charm and as it turns out everyone was very professional, really no complaints. So in and out of the clinic in about four (4) hours. That was really great because she said she went thru 5 or 6 stations. Everything went very smooth, some waiting but it was understandable. Hopefully tomorrow she gets her shots and might be out of there by noon? Maybe earlier. If that is the case she can fly back home one day early. Does anyone know if Philippine Airlines will change her flight to an earlier flight? A day earlier. I purchased the flight and hotel thru Expedia so I am not sure Philippine Airlines is going to accommodate her wishes. I am sure we lose the hotel room but maybe we can save the return ticket? By the way Aloha and Mahalo to all who helped us along the way so far. God Bless

Thank you for sharing your experiment, I hope it works out to the end. I was discussing with someone else, and they brought up the fear of this was that the medical records would get to the embassy before the appointment was made and the embassy would not know how to match up. Please follow up with us on the progress. Let us know if they give the records in sealed envelope or if they send them to the embassy. Thanks again!

  6. Good news! My spouse and I both called St Lukes today by phone. We were both told that she can come in. Staff at St Lukes says all you need is NVC NUMBER. You do not need the letter from NVC. Of course you need the passport, passport photos, pre-registration forms, ID etc. but SHE DOES NOT NEED NVC LETTER OR APPOINTMENT. This is great! Wife will be going to Manila this week! GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME...

Let us all know how that works out, It will be good news for all of us if it works.

  7. Its been one week since case completed and today I get this below, did everyone get this and did they issue interview date soon after? Thanks for any insight!

    Dear Sir or Madam:

The National Visa Center has received all documentation necessary to complete pre-processing

of your case. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner

and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.

The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment

until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa.

The US Embassy or Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of

the interview. Additional documentation requirements if applicable can be referenced at

    the following URL: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3742.html

    Sincerely,

    Director

    National Visa Center

  8. I'm curious how many people have actually entered SLEC and see how they actually operate the facility. The work staff in there are CHAMPS, imagine the sheer volume of people they have to accomodate over a span of time. SLEC is more efficient than clinics and hospitals I've seen stateside. You get what you pay for, in terms of medical service provided, in fact it's a bargain compared to what similar services in the US would cost. My wife who is an RN by profession even commented and how good the staff was, she was surprised by how smooth the process was from start to finish. When my wife and I went to our local Civil Surgeon to get her medical transciption for AOS, the facility here would charge up to $600 for similar services provided NOT including the X-Ray.

As far as the medical process itself is concerned, they won't just let anybody into SLEC, you need to have the proper documentation to enter. The guards will follow the same protocol for every person trying to gain entrance into SLEC. Schedule your interview date, from there you register online at SLEC with the link provided above in an earlier post, then you can print out your SLEC documents and have them ready to present when your wife arrives in Manila. Be aware the process usually takes 2 days to complete and is on a first come first serve basis. People line up around 5am to get a spot in line. You want to leave enough room between your interview at USEM and your Medical exam at SLEC just in case you encounter any problems along the way.

As for the interview, assuming everything has gone well up to that point. If you get approved, then you can have your wife complete her CFO seminar(which is also first come first serve, with limited amount of seatings based on which country) and get the stamp in it at a later date after your Visa arrives. Remember the stage after approval can take time as well, some people are fortunate enough to get the visa as little as 3 days while others on average can take up to 2 weeks, assuming there are no additional hang ups along the way. 2go service will be the courier for the passport. You can always opt to select a branch office where to pick up the passport like MOA(Mall of Asia) or an actual house address. If you want faster service select to pick it up at one of their branches, that's one less step they'll need to make for delivery, it can save a few days from what I've seen, and as far as 2go tracing system is concerned, it's pretty much fail, don't try tracking the package, you'll get very frustrated with how they operate/update status. Just wait until you get a confirmation text indicating your package will be ready for pick-up(usually the next day after the message)

    To Dave and Zola,

This is the best post on this feed. This is very good information to those that want to follow the rules. My wife has had full medical exam at St Lukes in September as a private medical exam, so it is possible to have an exam there, however, the process is different when it comes to this exam. St. Lukes is very very careful to follow the rules. If you want your paperwork to be correct at the embassy, I suggest you wait and follow the instructions above. No need to resort to payoffs and bribes at St. Lukes, they are all for the most part very responsible and efficient people. Also the medical exam is not at the same location as other medical exams, make sure you check the embassy website.

  9. Also, the one thing I haven't yet seen in your proposed timeline is the CFO seminar. Sorry if I missed it, but don't forget, she cannot leave the country until that is done. And you'll need the visa to do it. SO, either you'll have to 1) do your interview, stay in manila until you get the visa, and then you can do the CFO in Manila (and maybe in Cebu too), or if you were going to Cebu after your interview, come back to Manila, do the CFO before you can leave.

Be aware that there CAN be delays with the CFO. Sometimes they are real jerks. It can turn into an all day thing, so give yourself a little buffer there.

BTW.....CFO can be done early and you only need to return for them to stamp the passport. I sent my wife a couple months ago and she completed CFO and was told just to return with passport after Visa Issued and they would stamp it.

  10. You are most welcome. Happy to have you. have you called NVC. I haven't seen anyone from PI scheduled yet. And keep eye on your email they been pretty quick sending out right away also.

I've done a little research on Manila Appointments, Looks like Case completes from around the first of the month to the 15th of the month are getting scheduled for the first week of the next month, so 3-4 weeks at best. If you are approved after the 15th to the end of the month, it is running 4-6 weeks for interview. The sample is small thought so its a ####### shoot. I'm going to guess May 3rd Interview date. See what happens :)
