  1. Hello All,

Thank you so much for your help through out our processing, your advice, love, information truly helped us.

My husband was approved on 28th Aug and he has his visa in hand now. Thank God for the smooth visa journey - no problems at all. I already posted a review. It was truly a long process but worth it. Thank you all so, so much, much love (L)

His processing took - 9months and 2 weeks (Nov 14th 2011 - Aug. 28th 2012). God makes things beautiful and perfect in His own time.

Please I have a question on my mum and dad, how do I start their processing for green card as well? I need my mum here probably early/middle of next year.

US Citizen file for immediate relative - parents.

Will it take same amount of time it took for my spouse?

Can I also file for my spouse parents?

FYI: Our parents would not relocate permanently to the US for too long, they have businesses back home. But I want them to have their green cards, for easier access to us.

    Thanks for your response.

  2. The original birth certificate

Read the guidelines on the web site

In the timeline's documents to send to fiance after NOA2 is recieved, it was listed that you should send originals of documents you sent while filing. What do they mean by this? Originals of my passports and proof of citizenship? Or are they talking about other documentations like pictures and proof of meeting and others?

  3. Hello Love1 your spouse might have sent all originals - original tax returns during AOS -Affidavit of support.

copies might be good for interview.

I will be going for interview soon, i read a lot of discussion here about going to interview with the TAX return or Pay stub? Do i need to take this to the embassy for interview? we have submitted all that with AOS.. and if yes, can i go with just a photocopy or must it be the original copy of Tax Return? My wife is the petitioner and the sponsor

  4. Hello All, thank you in advance for your response.

I already front-loaded documents, pictures from 10yrs ago up until now, original tax returns, W-2, pay slips, original police cert, birth cert, marriage cert, wedding program, skype records, past emails, school IDs, ITIN for spouse, life insurance, employment letter, and every single thing needed and asked at the NVC Stage and USCIS Stage.

I mailed copies of all I sent to NVC and more to my spouse in preparation for interview, including our huge original wedding albums (2), copies of receipts during our wedding preparation, money transfer, itineraries and a lovely letter to him (which I didn't mail to NVC), But my spouse is kind of unsure - because he wants original receipts of our rings and bridal dress and wedding attire rather than copies (i forgot to include these), but I don't think its a big deal (original of ring and dress). What do you think guys, should I go ahead and mail these originals as well or should we just relax and practice interview questions instead of stressing about these?

Please help, your response will put our minds at peace. Thank you.

  5. Congratulations Mudasirk am truly happy for you

Journey over = success story (F)(L):dancing: :dancing: :dancing:

Interview was on july 10, wife got a 221g - the officer stated that the marriage and birth needed translated copies. Asked her to get it done and email to reschule when completed.

My wife being her, left the embassy in a hurry- went to a translator office in downtown KL- got it done in 45 minutes, went back to the embassy right after and submitted the translations. She was then Approved.

We are planning a POE on the 16th between Boston or New york.

  6. Hello VJ,

Our case was completed at NVC Stage since June 19th. We have our interview date booked for late August, but we haven't gotten the medical packet 4.

Who sends this and when? Are we supposed to wait for it or just take the interview letter to any doctor for medicals?

I don't think NVC has mailed our documents yet to Malaysia, becos we can't find it in the DHL Tracking.

    pls HELP

  7. No need for her to move anywhere - the guy is not a good person. He used and dumped her. What makes you think if she relocates to his country - he will treat her better? Its better now or never.

The Lord will bless her with a better man. Sorry and Happy birthday

wow but if you guys REALLY loves each other WHY NOT move there???? i mean if you love this guy either u or him will make way..why give up?

    goodluck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Hello,

Don't be down, stay optimistic - be hopeful and confident about the future.

I had similar issues 6yrs ago when I arrived - I also went to dmv and wasn't allowed to take the test 2 times, I didn't have a green card and ssn then, I got someone to drive me to another city - 1hr 30mins drive to get a letter from immigration/social security that my green card is on its way and all, It didn't help as well - my advise is wait - it will get to you soon - then you can go back.

The dmv don't know that the stamp on your visa is equivalent to your green card - most people don't understand immigration stuff, so its better you wait just 4 awhile - your card will be with you soon, call usics - 1-800-375-5283 and track it.

People also expect you to buy gas in their car before they drive you around, so be prepared for that. Or if you live close to a bus route - I will advise you walk to the bus station - write out the number to call, and call the customer service line, tell them where you are and where you want to go, they will plan your trip for you. That's how i got around, I was pretty smart about it. I stopped depending on people, sometimes I took 3 buses just to get to where i was going, I survived and knew my way around.

Good luck and welcome to America.

You have to be sharp here and do your thing with/without anyone's help.

I knew it would be hard to settle in and adjust, but I think I underestimated it. I've been here about 10 days but struggling with how I'm supposed to feel and what I should be doing.

I've got a bank account, a cell phone, and already passed the test to get a driver's permit. Unfortunately the dmv wouldn't issue one to me because my ssc (obtained years ago on different visa) was in my maiden name. My husband had to drive me to the other end of the county to the ssa who just handed me a letter to say I've applied for a new card, which the dmv wouldn't accept.

We live in a rural area and I feel trapped and dependent having to ask for rides everywhere. I just want to get up and going to start my life here proper - I want to apply for jobs , networking events and voluntary opportunities, but feel hampered by having to rely on people (spouse and his parents). When I explained to my husband (who is also looking for work) I'd applied for a few things he seemed really put out, said he'd need notice to drive me, and it'd depend on the location, and questioned my ability to work anyway (I know I can and he does too, I don't know where that came from),

I knew it'd be hard, but I feel a bit down and thought I'd ask how others coped at the start, and how long it took you to get up and going in your new home. Any advice would be much appreciated

  9. Thanks a lot for this advise, I will try it out after I get an interview date.

    this (above)

    use email.

    email the embassy

be polite. state current interview date, and ask for an earlier date should one become available.

    include:

    current scheduled interview date

    case number

    petitioner name

    dob

    beneficiary name

    dob

    good luck

  10. Congratulations

WOW thank God!! This morning I was talking to my wife on MSN and she asked me to check the US Immigration Web site. I could not believe what it said ( Approved I-130 Immigrant Petition ). We look at VJ every day and read it helps with the time and is so helpfully. Can't thank you all enough. It's a happy day for our Family

  11. Thanks Ryan, NVC told mii the case is complete but still with them until they get an interview date. Bcos i said should I call the embassy in Malaysia to pick a better date and she said they don't have your case yet. So maybe I should start using the DHL Tracking stuff just in case they decide to mail it without letting mii know or maybe they try to deceive mii so I don't bug them.

Once an interview date is scheduled and the Embassy has the file, contact the Embassy and see if they have an earlier date available.

  12. Am happy but not so happy as well. NVC completed our case yesterday June 18th (our one year wedding anniversary and 11 years of being together), however I was told no interview dates for month of July, maybe second week in August. :(:cry:

July is the convenient month for my spouse and August he will be busy in school and all (he won't like to miss any classes). We just want all this processing over and done with. :protest:

Please guys how do we expedite the interview date in Malaysia? We want his interview in July not August. So the remaining of this month can be used for medicals and interview preparation.

But if we have no choice, then we have to be content with the dates we are given, hopefully not after August. I hope all of this ends latest August, so by September latest he will be here :) and would have completed his MBA. :dancing::)

  13. OK. Please can you tell mii how much the medicals cost? my husband will probably do his own in Kuching

yeah, not sure whay the interview date is scheduled so far away. My wife is doing her medicals today at the lim dispensary in penang. The Dr. said it takes about 30 minutes and 4 days to forward the findings. I'm sure its the same for the dr. office in KL as well.

Ill try to email the KL embassy and ask if they can reschedule it earlier
