Their main source of disagreement seems to be in regards to Star Wars. My son loves Star Wars, has since he was like 3, but my normally really into sci-fi husband just doesn't get what all the fuss is about. Outside of that, they're very close, and like two peas in a pod. They do fun guy stuff together, and I can tell they are both very happy to be in each others' lives. My son was 6 when my husband moved here, he's now 11.

My daughter is 7 now, she started meeting Ahmed on Skype daily with me in late 2008 when we were engaged. He arrived in March 2010 and at the airport, she ran past me and jumped into his arms, she was so excited to have him home with us!
He has a lot of kids in his family and they love him so much, he's a real natural with kids. They get along very well, he is a very strong and stable father figure for her, they have fun together, he goes to school events with us, she can count on him in every situation, and she sees that he and I love each other very much.
She still comes to me first with most things, but I'm sure it's because I'm mom and she is a girl.
She and I really are blessed to have him in our lives and she keeps asking us when we're going to have a new baby! (we're trying!!!)

    Hi,
I am very curious to find out your new marriage or engagement has worked out with your children?
This could be during the visa process, but more curious about after your partner was here how everything went.
So far in mine all my kids are doing okay with relationship even though we are in the waiting stages.
    Thanks for your input!

My kids are excited and just don't understand why it takes so long to get my fiance here. lol
They were heartbroken and so upset waiting for him to arrive on his planned visit in February, when he was denied entry, and was not able to show up. It is hard to ignore the waiting when I get asked everyday if I have heard anything from USICS on our petition.

Well after looking at Mohammed year after year online, she was excited to finally meet him in person. They both were very nervous LOL but things went so smoothly and life is good for them both. The first few months, my daughter taught hubby how to work the Wii and play Mario Cart with her. This year, my daughter took her first French class and Mohammed was very helpful in teaching her how to speak and write French. Tomorrow is the last day of school, and she was awarded high honors with a 98% class grade average of the entire French class at her school. We are very proud ...
So short story, we are all very happy and life is a blessing for us.

Here is the problem with your plan, you are at the POE, you tell CBP what your plan is, and CBP will deny you entry for not having the proper visa.
If you lie to CBP about your plans, you would be guilty of Material Misrepresentation and you would be caught when you apply to adjust status. Material Misrepresentation would result in your AOS application being denied, you being deported, and you would be permanently banned from entering the US with no chance for a waiver.
    These are your alternatives:

Your fiancee files an I-129F to begin the K1 process, you come to the US on K1 visa, get married, then adjust status
You can get married in the US, however, your US Citizen wife files the I-130, and you would have to leave the US when your authorized stay expires. You would eventually interview at an overseas Embassy or Consulate for a spousal visa, you would then enter the US on said spousal visa after it was issued and you would automatically be an LPR.

Yes, if they consider the assets sufficient, they will disregard they can disregard the joint sponsor. However, I would expect that significant assets of an Egyptian spouse, particularly if he more than a very few years younger than you, and worse if you were not of the same religion at the time you became acquainted, to make a NEGATIVE impression with regard to the bona fides of the relationship, potentially sufficient more than overcome any positive financial impression.

I hope this finds you all in the greatest of health and imaan. I am just so happy, after weeks of being frantic, we finally got the hard copy we have been waiting for. My husband finallly has an Alien number and we are on our way to part two of this process. I do thank Allah and all the people on the MENA board for keeping sane and sending messages and responding. :-)
We are just so excited and so now we are waiting on the letter for the biometrics.

I was hoping this would work in our favor to show that we have been truthful and honorable. He has a 10 year visa to the UK and a 5 year multiple entry to the US. He has a long history of traveling and leaving other countries, including a by the book student visa for 4 years here in the US (long before we met).
I believe it was this forum (I can't imagine where else) that I read about spouses being able to travel, but to be armed with things to prove ties to the homeland, and not too much luggage (duh?) I am pretty sure we could manage that. I hope so! He is a teacher and so the summer would be ideal for a longer visit here, ensha'Allah. For me, I am bogged with classes and I need a babysitter. He is so good with my kids. (#gushing )

    Hiya!
I met my husband three years ago in the online gaming world . I was married nearly 10 years with 2 kids when we first met. The marriage ended.... After some time my friend and I realized there was potential, and now we married on his first visit here to the US, 3/9/12. For religious reasons we won't be "dating" per the western standard and carrying out casual visits. He left after 2 wonderful weeks, and we began our way down the I-130/CR1 road.
I met with an immigration lawyer here and he told me the turn around is about 15 months for "Arab" male spouses to be brought to the US. He said its nearly twice as long for Mid-Easterners/North African males as it is for anyone else.
Is this your experience? Anyone else ever been told that?
**Apparently I need to research this MENA, as someone mentioned in my intro post!**

BTW - if you don't have any huge red flags or anything, you don't need a lawyer. Doing the paperwork yourself is pretty easy. Plus, you'll be in total control of your case. Your paperwork won't sit on someone's desk until they get around to dealing with it.
