      Nope, Rayon is still in Jamaica. Forgot to edit the date. He'll be here early January. We will probably wait until March to get married so I have time to get used to the idea of Mom not being there. Thanks for asking.

    It's been 23 days since we were approved, but the visa is held under AP...calling DOS everyday but nothing new. Feel like this will never end. I need my fiancé here with me during this difficult time.

      djricky4, you were right! I just received an email from the embassy saying, "This case is with our printers and should be completely packaged and printed by Tuesday November 20, 2012. It should be with the DHL curriers by latest Friday November 23, 2012 at noon time." I'm relieved.

    Finally got a response from the embassy. They said, "Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately we do not have an exact time frame of when the visa will be issued. The file is undergoing administrative review at the current time. There is no definite time period of when this will be complete. Our visa officers are working hard to complete all cases so please be patient." Ugh...wonder how long will this take? And if I sent info about the family emergency if it could be expedited at ...

      I sent an email to kinstonNIVemergency but I don't know if that was the right address to send it to...it says it's for expedited interview scheduling due to family emergency. Oh well. Worth a shot.

    The wait suddenly feels endless...trying to put together a small wedding but everything is still so uncertain as we haven't received the visa yet...Really just missing Rayon. I need a hug! Lol

    His medical appointment is tomorrow. We hope that is it still on, even though the hurricane hit today. Many places are without power. Urgh! We are staying positive and inspired!

      I know the embassy is closed today. Where is he having his medical? I hear Montego Bay wasn't his as hard as Ocho Rios/the mountains/Kingston.

    I'm scared- Rayon just called and he lives in the mountains...Lots of rain and wind already and the hurricane hasn't even hit yet! His house is so old and he says it's cold. Praying everyone comes through this safe.

      Thanks! I just finally got through to his cell- power poles/lines down everywhere and his roof is leaking but overall he's doing great! He said the wind made his head spin so he just tried to sleep through it. Whew! Now hoping our visa being issued isn't delayed much by the storm. Not a problem if it is though...I'm just so glad he is ok! Hope there isn't too much damage in Jamaica from this storm- too much of a strain on the people and economy.

    YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are basically approved , pending the delivery of the medical and police report! R just has to return to Kingston with the documents and go to a window interview and they will review everything real quick and approve the visa as long as that is all good- which it should be!!!! Beyond happy right now... Didn't think they would do the full interview today, but they did!

      We called them and they said it is on its way but to show the embassy the receipt for the police cert so they know we applied for it a while ago... Thanks SweetieOne!
