    I promised to update you guys on my passport... Just got it a min ago! They actually pulled through!!! :dance:  I sent it by fedex on Fri right after oath, they got it Mon, submitted it to passport agency yesterday, and I received it this morning... If anyone is ever in a situation like me where they need their passport asap and is unable to go to a passport agency, I can now recommend this company... APVI Express! BBB accredited also... Just bloody expensive, but I didn't have a choice...

     

    I'll be leaving tomorrow for my trip so all the best to each and everyone of you... ^_^

    What a day!!!! A bit of a surreal moment.... I've waited all these months for this day and now it's finally over!...^_^ 

    Thanks to each and every one of you for all the help and support that you have offered over the months... It made the frustrations and tensions a little bit easier...

    To the members who are still waiting, your day is coming soon!!! :dance:

     

    I also mailed in my passport application to the passport agency right after the interview...  Praying that everything will work out and I'll get it back in time for the trip... I will definitely let you guys know how that goes! :unsure:

     

    Cdneh, all the best to you... I know you finally got your interview date scheduled and I'm absolutely certain that you will ace it! :)

    Note: passport acceptance facility and passport a gen you are two different places! Look up the closes one to you on the department of state website! Good luck! 

    Thanks A&M21, but I have oath on Fri and my trip is booked for next Thur!.  Less than a week... :(  There are no passport agencies where I can walk in and get my passport back the same day, anywhere close to where I live...I think the closest is in Houston or Dallas, which would be another plane trip, and that's very difficult for me right now with 3 small kids...

    So, I did a bit of research and found a couple of expediting agencies online that would carry the passport for me... Some offer 48 hrs, even 24 hrs... I paid $460 just for the service (not including the $170 for the actual passport!) They said there's no guarantee, but as long as I submit everything correctly, there's a good chance that I can get it on time...

    My family is a family of 5 so if I change my ticket dates, I'm likely going to be penalized far more than $460, so it was actually cheaper to do this... :(

    My husband said the interview took all of 10 minutes and it went so quickly that he can't even remember the questions he was asked (he got them all right, so I guess it doesn't really matter!). The longest part was waiting to be called back for the interview itself...he said he waited about an hour and a half after his scheduled time.

     

    Oath is tomorrow and we'll finally be finished with all of this! 

    Congrats to u and your husband... Just a few hrs again! :)

    Hey QuietForce, I did my interview on Apr 17th. The officer told me at the very end that I would receive my letter at the END on May... Apparently here in Wichita, oath ceremonies are only done quarterly... So the next batch isn't until June 16th.  Sigh...... I know what u mean by wanting it over and done with.... Unfortunately, it's still a wait for me too....

    I passed my interview and was recommended for approval but my status has not changed it still says "interview was scheduled". Anyone in the same situation? It's been over 2 weeks since my interview. Thanks. 

    My interview date was the same as yours... My status is the same also... I guess they take a really long time to update...

    Hey guys... Had my interview this morning! Needless to say, it's such a load off my shoulders to be over and done with that!... -_-

    Anyway, my appt was at 9:30 this morning. I didn't want to be too early so I reached at exactly 9:15... My commute from home took about a leisurely 30 mins, so I made use of the time by playing the civics questions CD in the car (which was actually a huge last-minute revision help!)  

    My name was called about 9:25. The officer came out and introduced herself and said that she will be conducting my interview and that I should follow her back to her office. On the way, she asked me if the weather was still cool and nice. Honestly, I relaxed a little just by that question because I realized that she was trying to put me at ease a bit. When we reached the office, I was told to have a seat and that she would begin with the civics questions.  She then told me to take a deep breath and relax... And I did just that... These were the questions that were asked

     

    Name 2 national US holidays

    What movement tried to end racial discrimination

    What do we show loyalty to when we say the Pledge of Allegiance

    What is one promise you make when you become a US citizen

    Who is the Governor of your state now

    Who was the first President

     

    After correctly answering all 6 questions, she then told me that I passed the civics test and the next part of the interview would be going over the application. She then went through everything (from my name at the beginning of the application) to the very last question at the end... This was mostly to check the accuracy of the info I provided... That took the most time at the interview... Anyway, at the end, she gave me a couple documents to sign and I was told that I should get a notification in the mail by the end of next month.  She then explained that the next date for the ceremony isn't going to be until June 16th.  

     

    The entire process took between 10 - 15 mins!  At the end of it, I walked out the door in a daze because I couldn't believe that it was over so quickly....

     

    I will update when I get my notification for the oath ceremony... Best of luck to everyone still waiting and hope to see that the rest of Oct filers who are still waiting, get their interview notifications soon!!!! ^_^

    I have to say that my inteview was smooth and easy. The IO didn't ask for my passport, only to check my driver's licence and a green card. I knew those 100 questions by my heart, and I'm sure all of you'll be just fine.

    Swearing was the crown of everything I did for the past 7 years. It feels so good to have all of this behind me. Proud to be an American Citizen! 🎉🇺🇸
