  1. Thanks, but this is a little different because we had the vows read and the celebration in a different location than the marriage certificate states that we were married in. The guy who married us has his office in paranaque City, Metro Manila but our wedding took place at another suburb of Manila. Actually right across the street from the US embassy. So it was all in Metro manila but in different Cities. Does the I-130 even ever get to the embassy? or do they just deal with the 230?

    Thanks again

  2. Hi all,

I mailed the I-130. My wife is very concerned about the interview at the embassy because the place of marriage typed on the marriage certificate says we were married in the office of the registrar (civil wedding) at 9:00 am. But really, the ceremony was held at a restaurant in another section of metro Manila at 11:00 am. So the I-130 i submitted says the restaurant is the place of marriage. I don't really see this as a problem and refuse to lie to the immigration authorities for fear she could be banned from the US. The 2 locations are a few miles apart and both in metro manila. The government minister that performed the ceremony told my wife to tell them we only had the reception at the restaurant. However, the photos show the wedding at the restaurant.

so... does anyone see this as a problem?

    thanks

  3. Hi all,

Im submitting my I-130 next week. I have about 240 pics. All pics were taken from March 19th to March 30 while i was in Manila getting married. Unfortunately, I didn't have the good sense to turn the time/date function on my camera to on. Could that be a problem?

My question is how is the best way to send the pics with the I-130? How many do I need to send. They are mostly of the wedding.

    Thanks

  4. You don't need your wife's passport or birth certificate photocopies for the I-130. When you get to the NVC stage they will ask for all the applicant's (your wife's) documents. Make sure to send only a photocopy of your marriage certificate with the I-130 because you will need to send the Original to the NVC.

Yes, the fee for the I-130 is still $420. The IV fee has changed, but you don't have to worry about paying that for a bit.

If you want to research what happens after your petition is approved, read this link:

Thank you very much. Now I know I can file in about 1 week instead of waiting for the passport.

  5. Its unclear to me if if i have to submit a birth certificate and passport for my wife (intending immigrant visa beneficiary). I went to Manila and we were married. I am now back in the states and I want to file the I-130. I have the marriage contract copy and have been waiting on her new passport. But now i think i can file without her passport. is that correct? Can someone please help?

    Thanks

Also, I noticed there are fee changes in April 13 this year. Is the fee for I-130 submission still $420?

    Thanks again
