  1. Left my wife at the consulate 2 hours ago and I'm just here waiting. I'm so nerviouse! No matter how much you prepare your still a bit stressed until you know ( if they tell you at all ) ... On another not, boy did I miss mexican food!!! XD ... You can't simply find tacitos al pastor in the US or homemade tortillas that you can swallow 20 and you still want more. Well I pray too God we get approved. If we do I'll definately post my reciew. It's been an exciting week living in person what I have read in everyone review. But tue best part out of all this is finally getting to see my wife after so many months apart. That was truely a blessing!

  2. Wow! That's amazing. I finally got my Interview date for November. Woooooo!!!

Can't wait to see my wife.

Please Please, let me know how long it take to get the VISA for you guys cause I'm planning on just picking it up there in Juarez instead of having my wife go back home. I've seen people say they've been able to pick it up after 2 busines days. So I'm just curious so I can plan right.

Hope everything works out fine for you guys.

  3. WOW!!! I can believe it!!! After so much patience and waiting I finally go my Interview invitation letter and I just now scheduled my ASC appointment and visa deliver location.

    :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

I WANT TO THANK ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR AMAZING HELP ! ! !

I especiall thank God for helping me every step of the way.

In 34 days it's interview time.

Here's hoping that everything goes good on everyone that has interviews comming up.

  4. I've never been so vigilant of my email inbox as I am now. Everytime my phone notifies me of an incomming mail, I quickly jump to check if it is the NVC notification of the interview date. It could be any moment from now to whenever. There is no more "20 business days", now it's "whenever one is available" so I have not timefram to attain to.

Yesterday, I had a mini heartattack when I saw the NVC emailed me a checklist document. I quickly recapacitated and remembered almost a week ago I had been notified of case complete and deduced that this must be a fake checklist. But ofcourse, I called to confirm and it was. PHEW!!!

C'mon NVC, I don't need fake documents I need an interview date ! :bonk:

Hope you all are swiftly moving along and keeping pacient. We know how trying the NVC journey can be but soon we will make it through, God willing.

  5. I know waiting is the hardest part. I called the NVC and got my appointment a whole day before I got the email. So, if you trying calling them you might know something sooner.

How long did it take you from case complete to being notified of the interview date? It will give me at least of some idea and I know that every case is different and it could be more or less days depending on the NVC workload and scheduling availability.

Brex- you should be glad you're waiting for your interview... I'm patiently waiting for NVC to invoice me my fees.... I rather wait for an interview... LEts switch that will be fun.......

Hang in there your almost done with your journey....

You are right. I am very appreciative. I have actually previously commented that I was grateful for being on the completed end vs. the beginning again with the NVC. But no matter what step you are in and knowing your are so close makes me that much more anxious to get there. And again, I am grateful that I am at this stage and that I have not had to go through hurdles as others have.

Good things are worth waiting for :)

    Yes they are

  6. Did you send in you OPT IN email before sending your AOS docs? If you did, I'm not sure why it has taken so long. Did you make sure to include everything? I don't know what your financial situation and that could be an impact. I had sent it 3 weeks before it was reviewed but I had forgotten to send in my OPT IN email, which I finally did and my papers were reviewed and accepted by the 2nd day.

  7. Thank you for the details! I did get my case #, BIN, IIN already and have already checked the payment portals a million or so times since Friday, lol. It's amazing to me how, even though I've been doing due diligence on the process for months now, every time I come to the point of actually completing a new step I get to second-guessing myself and sweating the small stuff.

If I didn't have access to this site and helpful people who have been through it all before, I would be so dreadfully lost! So thanks again! :D

    You welcome.

I like second guess myself like 10 times. I think I checked my emails to the NVC like a gazillion times.

  8. By email because my case was eligible for electronic processing due to the consulate at which the interview will take place, so I Opted in.

    I sent :

    My own Cover letter

Bar coded cover letter ( printed off the payment portal )

    Mariage license

    Applicants passport bigraphical page

    Applicants Birth certificate

    Applicants 2X2 pictures

I did not need police report because Mexico does not have them so it is not asked for.

These docs were scanned and sent as a PDF within my email.

  9. Congratulations on getting the case completed. My AOS & packet IV were delivered on 4th Sep, AOS was accepted on 11th Sep; however, I am still waiting for them to accept the packet IV :( today is the 13th day and still no luck!! I need the case to be completed and an October interview date. God are you listening? Please help!!!

When did you sent your packet IV?

I sent mine early last week but I do electronic processing. So it could be a different area. Not sure.

  10. I guess I'm not sure what is meant by "walking"? So from the El Paso to Juarez you can cross with a cab from the airport to the hotel. But when when you are coming from Juarez to El Paso you have to go "walking"? Anyway, so a cab drops you off somewhere, I would imagine the Boarding Crossing building or something? not quite sure and haven't read anything that is detailed enough to understand.

When I heare "walking" makes me feel I'll be "walking the plank"

  11. Hello, all!

Just some more minutiae I'm worrying myself with as I wait for my invoices to become available to pay...

I have all my documents gathered, filled, scanned to PDF, ready to go. My question is on how to format the e-mail and attachments.

    • Should I use the cover page I have created as the body of my email, or put the security information (names, DOBs, email addresses) as the body and submit the cover letter as a PDF attachment?
    • Is it better to submit each document as a separate PDF file, or just compile a large comprehensive file with the documents placed in the order given on my cover sheet?

Another quick question is about the agent designation process. Should I be waiting for the DS-261 to become available, or should I have my husband go ahead and email the DS-3032? I have read a few conflicting posts about this topic, some say doing them in tandem helps because sometimes one method is unreliable, others say only do the DS-261 because submitting the DS-3032 will slow down the process and confuse matters.

    Thanks guys!

I sent my documents in PDF. For the AOS, I was able to get everything onto one PDF file but for the IV, since I had some docs and my wife had to send me hers, I had seperate PDF files that I sent within my IV email. I also sent those passport size pictures by a pdf and then also a JPEG just in case ( but that was just me and my obsession to get the pictures to print to the right size of 2x2 inch ). In the end, it doesn't matter how many attachments you place in the email as long as they have all the documentation required.

When I scanned the docs to put onto the PDF, I put my coversheet first ( per the NVC wiki ) and also added the barcoded coversheet that you print off the payment portal ( just in case ) then put the rest of the docs in the order that the NVC wiki says. I got case complete and had no request for additional information.

For the agent designation process. You have to wait until you have your NVC case #, beneficiary ID, and Invoice ID. Once you have that you can log into the payment portal at https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Invoice/signon.aspx to view/pay your fees ( you will be addicted to checking this site) and you can go to the application center https://ceac.state.gov/iv/ which is were you will fill out the DS-261 and the DS-260 as they become available ( and you have a link to the payment portal there as well ).

Also, since I got confused ( and maybe it could have just been me ), once you get ready to submit your paperwork make sure you send it to the NVCElectronic email address. BUT BEFORE YOU EVEN SEND THEM, make sure to send in your OPT IN email like it mentions here http://travel.state.gov/visa/visa_5162.html and you will get a confirmation email saying that your are eleigible to process eletronically. Then send your docs.

Hope everything works out smoothly for you.

  12. The NVC will schedule your appointment at the US Consulate in Cuidad Juarez. You will receive an email from the NVC when the appointment has scheduled. At that time, you will be able the schedule your medical appointment and also a biometics (fingerprints and pictures) appointment.

I was confused about that. Thanks for the Info. :)

  13. When did NVC receive your IV package?

Well, I sent it a week ago but I did not send my Opt In email until this past Tuesday when I realized I needed to send it too. I got 2 emails this morning, confirming that they received my AOS and my IV package respectively, and later this afternoon I got the notification I mentioned above.

Good for you!! You should have an appointment in a few weeks. I received that same email on August 27 and I got my appointment date yesterday, September 13.

They assign you an appointment date? I thought we would choose that ourselves on the website the consulate directs us too? Do they assign the date or we choose it?

  14. One you have done all the AOS and IV Bill there's nthing on the portal to check. Your Case Complete will come as an email to tell you to await the interview date.

Most call NVC to find out Case Complete. Daily or whenever.

Yeah, I know that you can't check there after you done with it and everytime I call it's "20 business days" ... It feels like back when we were all waiting for the NVC Case # again lol ... What keeps me going is knowing that I'm now at the other end and waiting for a case complete ... Praying I don't get a request for more docs :innocent:
