dfitz got a reaction from Kathryn41 in Evidence of a Bonifide Marriage
In my case, (I'm Canadian, he's American) and we have been married for just over 2 years, we sent:
    1) Marraige Certificate
    2) Letters from friends and family saying that they know we are on a bonafide relationship
    3) Cell phone bills that show that we are both on each others plans
    4) My RRSP that shows he's the beneficiary
    5) Joint Bank Statements
    6) My bus trip tickets from going to see him
(As well as all of the other stuff such as birth certificates and such)
We got an RFE but it was becuase they wanted his long form birth certificate, not more evidence for our relationship. We didn't send any pictures.
USCIS can see everything on yoru passport, and they will be able to see how many times you and him have crossed the border, when you have come together, etc.
Just send all that you think you need necessary, and if it's over kill then that isn't the end of the world. It's better to have too much then too little.

dfitz reacted to BlueSunnyDay in Recent Income For Filing Tax
Hi Board, I'm kindoff worried about my recent income for sponsoring my wife. Here is my situation:
I was not here in USA for 2010 and 2011 for some family reasons.I got married on 2010 and a child was born (CRBA) on 2011.While being with my family I worked there for 2010 and 2011 and made almost $7000 and $5000 respectively (Also mentioned the job in filing I 130).I came back to usa on 2012 and so far made little over $24000.
Do you think I need to file for 2010 and 2011? In case I'm required to file, can I do "Married Filing Separately". The reason I am asking this is getting an ITIN for my wife seems to be a big hassle now. Also can I do the same for year 2012?
Will filing taxes as "married Filing Separately" create any issue for getting the visa for her?
And the last question, with my situation do u think I need to get a co-sponsor?
Thanks again board for all the help..
