  1. Just thought I would let you all know that I got an email back from the London embassy today saying they have brought our interview from 7th January (which would make me miss our wedding) to December 4th (2 weeks tomorrow)!!!! SO happy and excited! This time next month I will be in Alabama!!!!

That is such great news!!! well done!

    best of luck:)

  2. i should take your advice nich-nick and not call the DOS. It only leads to more frustration.

I don't know what I expected them to say. Certainly not that we have an interview

We are just at 4 weeks since submitting everything. I know I need to take a chill pill but after 366 days I can't do it anymore!!!!!

Has anyone else been scheduled an interview that submitted there complete case to the embassy in October?

please someone help me find the ability to cope with constant disappointment... aaahhh

  3. I need to stop looking at other peoples' timelines because it is giving me anxiety and rage!!!

I say that with humor :)

As I am working the night shift I have too much time on my hands to troll the VJ website.

Holy Sh*t. If Joe and I don't get packet 4 soon I might have a full blown mental breakdown

    Sorry for the random outburst!!!

    I feel better already

  4. Thanks you guys for the lovely messages!!

I e-mailed the embassy that night to see if we could get any cancelations but of course it was deleted because I didn't realize they had to give you a code for the subject line, so I told Paul to call the embassy and he did the next day (because he was sleeping lol) so he called and the person he talked to gave him a code and he e-mailed them and after 2 days of waiting (as it said 2-4 days) they wrote us and said they didn't get our DS-2001 OR cover letter!! :o We sent it over a month ago! And he had it so the people receiving it would have to sign for it. AND when I called DOS the other day they said that we were just waiting for an interview date not that they didn't have our DS-2001 etc. Luckily though, they said we could scan it and e-mail it to them. I wish they would have told us when Paul or I called, maybe they lost it afterwords? I am happy however because maybe they'll be like oh lovely good now we got it heres a date (just fingers crossed now that its for november and in time to make our wedding date!)

    Fingers crossed as always! lol

    Louise

Louise I hope they get back to you ASAP!!

Joe called on Tuesday and tried to get a code to see if we can get this ball rolling any faster but they said we just have to wait. Our excuse is just how obscenely long we have been waiting in general!! Although I was not hopeful because I suppose the folks at the US embassy don't really care.

So anyway I am waiting with much anxiety about an interview date as well.

I really hope they get back to you soon.

I look forward to hearing good news for both of us:)

  5. Oh dear Molly but that may turn out to not be the case. The person on the phone was probably only giving you a guesstimate and I wouldn't be at all surprised if you hear sooner than that. Keep strong because it WILL happen.

    I really hope so!

Thanks again for listening to my rants:)

  6. Joe called the embassy this morning hoping to give someone our sob story.

They told us we should hear in 2-3 weeks, maybe sooner.

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I think i need to be prescribe a sedative for the next few weeks:)

    Anyone else with news?

  7. If we don't hear something this week I am going to really lose my mind!!!

It will be a year since we sent our 129 on the 14th of November.

Joe is going to call the embassy tomorrow and see what going on.

I hope we hear good news!!

I will let you all know....

  8. Okay I called DOS

doesn't look like amazing news but we're still hopeful. The guy I talked to, James, said that interviews are booked for the current month up until the 10th of the current month then after that they go for the next month available. We were hoping Paul would be out here for the 23rd (for some reason the person said theres a note on our case for the 17th as our wedding date but we told them the 23rd so that's weird). Looks like we'll be hoping for Christmas now unless we get an appointment tomorrow for some time in november.

    Louise

    Hi there Louise

Joe and I are also waiting for an interview. medical was on oct 4th, packet 3 was submitted on the 18th of October.

We submitted our NOA1 in november of last year so I have so little patience left it is dangerous!!!

Just reading your message above. DOes that mean that there is no hope for a november interview?

    I just want to scream!!!

    Thanks Louise for the information

    molly

  9. Yes, from what I understand there is a 3-4 week delay before they log packet 3 into the system and give you your interview date. You can call stateside by ringing the DoS here:

    202-663-1225

Listen to the recording till the end, then press 1 or it will hang up on you. Then, press 0 and you'll get a live person. Explain you're the petitioner for a K-1 visa (you'll need that LND case number). Call each day to see if they have logged packet 3 and issued an interview date. They appear friendlier than the USCIS people.

This last waiting is especially hard for me, for I see other countries handing out interviews like candy. :(

Thank you for the advice. I will call now. I will let you know.

I keep telling myself that this process will end. it can't go on forever!!!

  10. Welcome Molly35. Wow, you have really run the gauntlet. Outrageous how USCIS has destroyed any plans. You are invited to rant, vent, etc., as I do... I think it helps. It certainly helped during the NoA2 waiting in our "March filers" thread. It seems where there can be a delay, it's there, and not any small means. I really hope they get back on the ball and start issuing interview dates. You would think they would want to go into the holidays caught up, not return to a bigger back log. But when has any government worker during this process cared about the lives they are affecting? Hmmm there's a rant for you. Hang in there... this is the last step, and we're almost there!

Edit: Has London logged receipt of your Packet 3, or are you also going by the post signature of receipt?

I think joe called the "extortion" line (i love that term by the way) a few days ago and was told that we will not hear anything for at least another 4 weeks. I am not sure if they logged our packet three information yet. I don't think Joe knew to ask. We are a little behind the curve as I just discovered this forum.

I do have to keep reminding myself that this is the last step! sometimes I feel like I might not survive this emotional marathon...

venting certainly helps so thanks for the invitation:)

  11. Hi Everyone,

Definitely need to join this thread as I am also waiting for an interview. Joe's medical was on the 4th, logged on the 8th and rest of paper work recieved by the embassy on the 18th of October.

Joe and I had an extraordinarily long wait for out NOA2. We submitted our application in nov 2011. NOA2 august 28th.

The WORST part was USCIS didn't sen our file to the NVC until Sept 26th!

So I am hanging by a thin fiber to my sanity!!

I just discovered this UK forum and when I read about the November backlog I nearly lost the last marble.

I was hopeing at least one part of this process would move along at a reasonable pace for Joe and I but I quess not:(

the waiting continues but it does worry me about December being backed up and the holidays on top of that.

I feel like an alarmist right now:)

Will try to keep my cool these last few weeks!!

  12. Hi all,

My finance's police report came back as "no live trace"

However Joe was arrested about 10 years ago for reckless cycling:)

Do we need to get a local police report about this incident. I thought I saw something in another tread aboutthis.

    Thanks

    molly

  13. Butu has it been received yet? There's a receive date and a case# comes after. Don't feel bad I was approved 6/29 took 31 days to get to NVC seemed CSC didn't mail my case so had to have a service request put in to get it. I even did the NVCresearch inquiry they say after 15 business days mess. Thats what lead me back to CSC. I finally "arrived" at NVC 7/30. 31 days and received case# 16 days after that so it was painful.

At least you are a K1 so a very short visit at NVC and off u go to the embassy. Hold on it's coming.

I hope it is coming! I sincerely can not take much more of this BS!!!

    Thanks for your response

  14. How long does it normally take the petition once approved to get to the NVC?

Our petition was approved on Aug 27th. I just called NVC and they still don't have it in the system yet?

I am so at the end of my tether. We waited 10 months for our i-129 to be approved. I was hopeing one part of this process would go smoothly.

    I am losing my mind.

    Thanks

    Molly

  15. Hey Ron,

I did inquire about suing the USCIS but apparently it is quite expensive and it can take up to 6 months for them to make a decision.

So for now I am just going to continue to wait and call intermittently to the 1800 number to hear some more people tell me what I already know.

I think the USCIS is by far the biggest bureaucracy on the planet and I am just a gnat trying to get someone's attention.

    It is ridiculous.

  16. Dear Molly, please share with us what you have done so far to move VCS off their pot? I can not believe that you are so calm. Have you contacted you congressman or senator?? I can not even think how I would be acting if I was in your shoes. They would have to come and bail me out of jail or I think I would be in Vermont. I wish you all the luck. Ron

    Hi Ron,

I posted a little earlier in this feed about my saga so far. I have placed numerous cervice requests, called congessman (actually got approved to be expedited). I called last week and I have emailed a few times.

The last reply from USCIS told me to wait an additional 6 months. At which point I did want to get in my car and drive directly through the front doors of the vermont service center. Meanwhile Joe is losing his marbles in England!

We don't know what else to do.

My basal levelof frustration and irritation is not healthy!!

i will keep you guys updated.
