no, la verdad la boda no va a ser tematica... la idea del fairy tale surgio porque varias veces, en oportunidades aisladas, cuando les echabamos nuestro cuento a la gente, varios comentaron que parecia cuento de hadas... asi que se nos ocurrio escribir eso! (que bueno q les gusto... ) las invitaciones quedaron bien finas

Caro, te cuento que mi roommate planto unas flores bien bonitas a los lados de la acerda de entrada a la casa (que linda ella, para que esten bonitas para nuestra boda! porque la rehearsal dinner es aqui, y quiere que se vea bonito). Ahora, cuando me mencionaste el mulch, debo decir que me impresiono que utilizo un mulch hecho de conchas de cacao! impresionante el olor a cacao/CHOCOLATE en la entrada! (mas al recien aplicarlo, y cuando cae una aguita). Segun y que esta ganando popularidad. El vecino lo uso bajo unos arboles que tiene.

Using the Civil Surgeons Locator at the USCIS website, (http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/exec/cs/index.asp) I found these 2 CS for 55104:

I went to Dr. Gebre, whom I think is very nice, and his rates are not high compared to what other people have commented. I would use the locator tool and find also other close to where you live in the Twin Cities, and make phone calls to ask for their rates.

Regarding being able to have continious work, giving that he is working on his OPT now, I do not have a clue of how this works, from F-1 to AOS-LPR. I might be concerned on his status changing also while being an adjustment applicant, and then his OPT EAD would not be valid?! hopefuly not! if this is not the case, and you guys send the application now, there is a good chance that he gets at least the EAD before his OPT ends, although there is cases where it has been longer!

I hope that other people around here can give you more help than I can!

Hello everybody!

I was here in the states with a J-1 visa taking a master's degree, and was able to work, and from then, I have my SSN, so I have my card already, and obviously my SSN. I have always supposed that I do not have to do anything with it until I get my permanent residence and I could remove the restrictions "only to work with INS authorization". Therefore, when I get my EAD, I can just start working, and use that as my SSN, that's it. In any case, I will always have the same SSN, they wouldn'nt change it, would they? that would be weird, because I have been here before, have credit cards, etc, have built some credit, so if they changed it, I would have to change it with my credit card companies, etc, what mess! (although this mess is in my mind, I think )

However, I do not know if I have to update my status with the SSN, or what? somebody?

A couple of weeks ago I got the appointment letter for biometrics linked to the EAD application, and this past week, got the one linked for the AOS. The first one is for the 22nd of June and the latter one for the 29th of June. I guess I could bring both letters on the 22nd and then they will make both at the same time.

However, I am feeling paranoic, and if I do that, and then do not show up on the 29th, I feel they might "consider the application abandoned" as they say in the letter.

Are there experiences with this around here?

I am not busy (no EAD!) so I can just go to both, and the office I have to go for the biometrics is just 5 minutes from where I live. That will of course be 100% sure.

What do you guys think!?

He estado revisando en DHL con el metodo que puse arriba, y a partir del 9 de mayo no ha habido envios a Caracas, sino hasta el 23 de mayo! el que fue entregado el 25! luego hubo otro el 31 de mayo, que llego el 2 de junio, otro el 1-6 que llego el 5-6, y no ha habido mas envios hasta hoy.... carajo tu paquete deberia estar en alguno de esos paquetes!

Bueno, el pana Lanzelot esta en el mismo proceso que Ana Patacon! porque ya estan casados, asi que es CR-1/IR-1 lo que estan haciendo. Pero el NVC le dice que envio el paquete al consulado el 9 de mayo, y nada todavia!!! no puede ser...

Ah! Carolina! el consulado en Caracas le responde a quien sea que les escriba para pedir la cita, porque en mi caso, yo fui, yo mismito, el venezolano, jeje, quien les escribio para pedir la cita, y me respondieron right away. Lo que se dice es que quizas le paren mas pelota al americano(a) pero yo no lo creo. El que esta pidiento la visa es uno.

No! a las arepas con mermelada, dulce, miel, maple o similares! No!

Jajajaja! ok, nos avisas, porque yo estoy renuente a comer arepa con dulce! arepa no se come con dulce!!! NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

Arepa dulce es distinto! mi mama las prepara, pero le hechamos nata, queso rayao, etc... no mermelada, miel o similares... NO! me niego!!!!

Otra cosa que me esta diciendo Erin de la comida, es que aqui como que a ellos cuando se topan con alguna comida nueva que nunca habian visto o probado, les gusta saber prmero, como se come?!, que se hace con ella?! etc.... el ejemplo claro es cuando visite por primera vez a su familia en Wyoming, les hice arepas, y cuando nos sentamos todos en la mesa, nos dijeron: ustedes primero! para ver como es la cosa! o algo asi, y es asi, no se atrevian a comer sin saber que haciamos nosotros. Es aqui donde entra el consejo de Camaleon, porque si les sirves y les das el plato en la mano, y te pones a comer con ellos, van a serguirte, y como dice el, te van a pedir para llevar para sus casas!

Una nota comica al margen de esa historia es que la esposa del papa agarro una arepa, la abrio por la mitad, ya le hecho miel!!!! yo estaba en shock!, arepa no se come con dulce! pero bueh! ellos lo ven asi como un toast, o como un English muffin, pero que opinan!?!?!?!

Lo otro que me comento Erin con respecto a los amigos locales americanos es "who are those people they have as friends?!" jajajajaja! asi que, calma pueblo! que no todos son chimbos!

Erin no ha comprado casa, asi que los dos somos first time home buyers, y tambien hay rebajas y programas si compras casa en la propia ciudad (lease Minneapolis-Saint Paul, y no las otras ciudades de Metro Area, o suburbios), para first time home buyers... en eso estaremos el anio que viene!

Me parece bien la idea de Camaleon, preparas tus cosas, y se las sirves carajo! bueno, no si no quieres para esta reunion, pero vale la pena probar eso en otra! Aqui no me ha resultado mal, a todos les ha gustado lo que les preparo. Como dije, los amigos de Erin son una nota.

Debo enfatizar el hecho de que es imperativo hacer ese cambio de direccion cada vez que nos mudamos, it's the law! y el del affidavit of support para el/los sponsors cada vez que se muden! lean la forma del affidavit!

Tambien hay que llamar a un numero... y el sponsor tiene, DEBE llenar la forma de cambio de direccion para el affidavit, encontre esto en un post en el forum de AOS:

You have to send Form I-865 Sponsor's Notice of Change of Address, Form AR-11 Alien's Change of Address Card, and send a letter to your local office.

When you have a case pending with USCIS, you should also call Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283.

Asi que a ponerse las pilas para no meternos en rollos!

en el tema de nuestra visajourney ya conseguimos apartamento! si! nos aprobaron en un apartamento de 2 habitaciones, justo around the corner de donde vivimos ahorita, facilito para la mudanza! es un edificio de los 60, y los apartamentos para mi son cheveres, pero a Erin le gustaria que fuera algo mas bonito, digo con pisos de madera, (tiene alfombra) y algo con mas "caracter" le dice ella...pero convinimos en que es temporal, porque en 1 anio pensamos comprar casa.... ahi veremos... ya yo estare trabajando, y la cosa sera diferente.

La pregunta es: como hacemos para cambiar nuestra direccion en en USCIS? nosotros no tenemos rollo en recibir la correspondencia aqui, pero seria un fastidio igual para ellos y para nosotros, asi vivamos cerquita... claro, llenamos el cambio de direccion con el usps con el sobre respectivo, pero como cambias tu direccion en el uscis para todo este proceso, si en todas las planillas has puesto la direccion actual, y te mudas? alguien sabe?
