Hoy fue a mi cita de biometrics, muy facil, y me hicieron los dos juntos (tenia cita para hoy para la 765 y la semana que viene para el AOS).

Acabo de leer otra experiencia de entrevista en la oficina de aqui, en Bloomington, MN, y no dice si le dieron el sello, quizas no, pero la GC le llego en 11 dias!

No le dieron el sello de una, y la GC tarda de 6 a no se cuantos MESES! en llegar?! no creo...

Por alguna razon, ellos no actualizan el sistema para todo el mundo a veces. Lo otro es que el sistema solo envia emails cuando hay un cambio significativo, como un RFE o approval, no cada vez que actualizan la fecha (touch).

Cami, segun lo que he leido en VJ, el dia de la entrevista, al aprobarte, te ponen un sello en el pasaporte que se llama, creo, I-551. Eso es prueba de que eres LPR. La tarjetica mentada GC, te llegaria en lo sucesivo, 1 semana? 2? segun y que es asi de rapido...

ojo! he tambien leido de casos donde les ponen Administrative something, o FBI name check something. Ahi, asi estes aprobada, creo que no te ponen el sello siquiera. Pero creo que estos casos son muy pocos.

De verdad no se que decirte con respecto al AP. Es tu decision. Empieza a recolectar tus pruebas para la entrevista, y ve con fe y confianza. Lo otro es lo que hablamos, invierte esos reales en "peace of mind" por sia... no se... que peo! jaja!

Ajá... unas pregunticas porque te llamé y no me contestó "naiden":

1) Qué es "intended"?

2) Cuál es la diferencia entre Advanced Parole y Reentry Permission?

3) Si escribiste la carta explicando por qué calificas para el documento... me la puedes mandar a mi e-mail para tener una idea más o menos? (Bienvenidas otras cartas, léase Carolas y Ana)

4) Con qué documentos avalas el asunto? (Supporting evidence)

No pensé que iba a ser necesario para mí pedir un AP porque mi viaje sería para Diciembre, y de panas pensaba que ya para esta fecha tendría mi cita para la entrevista... pero como que no me llega nada y no quiero correr el riesgo de tener que pedir el AP demasiado tarde, así que me tocará pedirlo ahora. Ni siquiera me gusta revisar los timelines del USCIS porque no les creo nada, además no estoy segura en cuanto a qué oficina está procesando mi caso. Es raro, vean mi timeline.... ven que todo ha salido super rápido desde que metí los papeles? No entiendo por qué ahora se trancó el asunto otra vez.

Bueno Cami, ya hablamos por telefono, pero para los "records":

1) Te preguntan a donde tienes "intencion" de viajar. Esto por supuesto puede cambiar.

2) (Creo!) Advance Parole se utiliza para que los adjustment applicants como nosotros, quienes estamos en un limbo de legalidad, podamos entrar al pais luego de un viaje. Reentry permit lo utilizan los LPRs cuando se van de aqui por mucho tiempo, creo que mas de 1 anio? no se... y asi puedan volver a entrar. El punto es que si eres LPR, debes vivir aqui, y no en otro lado (esa es otra ventaja para naturalizarse, otra restriccion que se borra).

3) y 4) No escribi carta. No inclui evidencia. Envie la planilla llena, solita. La evidencia es "per se" el AOS y el ser K1. Carta? no hace falta. Lo mismo.

Como te comente, en mi caso, yo no tengo intencion (I do not intend ) de viajar este anio, quizaas el proximo y quien sabe. El AP para mi fue y es una inversion en tranquilidad mental (peace of mind). Si existiera alguna emergencia que me obligara a ir a Venezuela, no tendria problemas en ir y venir. Como en tu caso 1) tu quieres ir en diciembre 2) tambien te preocuparia alguna emergencia de aqui a alla y 3) tienes los churupos, en mi opinion, envialo ahora mismo, lo tendrias contigo por ahi por octubre y tu fina. Si viniera el AOS antes de eso, o poco despues, bienvenido sea. No importa.

En Part 4, que creo que es lo que te refieres como excusa puse "To visit family" porque eso es lo que voy a hacer, y list of countries, Venezuela...

Pensandolo bien, si yo quisiera viajar para otro lado, creo que igual este AP sirve... en la aplicacion dice intended, y no creo que el AP document sea especifico para algun pais; cuando me llegue el mio te digo... ANA! el tuyo? (Ana no va a responder por unos dias, he?)

Caro, te cuento que mi roommate planto unas flores bien bonitas a los lados de la acerda de entrada a la casa (que linda ella, para que esten bonitas para nuestra boda! porque la rehearsal dinner es aqui, y quiere que se vea bonito). Ahora, cuando me mencionaste el mulch, debo decir que me impresiono que utilizo un mulch hecho de conchas de cacao! impresionante el olor a cacao/CHOCOLATE en la entrada! (mas al recien aplicarlo, y cuando cae una aguita). Segun y que esta ganando popularidad. El vecino lo uso bajo unos arboles que tiene.

I went to Dr. Gebre, whom I think is very nice, and his rates are not high compared to what other people have commented. I would use the locator tool and find also other close to where you live in the Twin Cities, and make phone calls to ask for their rates.

Regarding being able to have continious work, giving that he is working on his OPT now, I do not have a clue of how this works, from F-1 to AOS-LPR. I might be concerned on his status changing also while being an adjustment applicant, and then his OPT EAD would not be valid?! hopefuly not! if this is not the case, and you guys send the application now, there is a good chance that he gets at least the EAD before his OPT ends, although there is cases where it has been longer!

I hope that other people around here can give you more help than I can!

Hello everybody!

I was here in the states with a J-1 visa taking a master's degree, and was able to work, and from then, I have my SSN, so I have my card already, and obviously my SSN. I have always supposed that I do not have to do anything with it until I get my permanent residence and I could remove the restrictions "only to work with INS authorization". Therefore, when I get my EAD, I can just start working, and use that as my SSN, that's it. In any case, I will always have the same SSN, they wouldn'nt change it, would they? that would be weird, because I have been here before, have credit cards, etc, have built some credit, so if they changed it, I would have to change it with my credit card companies, etc, what mess! (although this mess is in my mind, I think )

However, I do not know if I have to update my status with the SSN, or what? somebody?

A couple of weeks ago I got the appointment letter for biometrics linked to the EAD application, and this past week, got the one linked for the AOS. The first one is for the 22nd of June and the latter one for the 29th of June. I guess I could bring both letters on the 22nd and then they will make both at the same time.

However, I am feeling paranoic, and if I do that, and then do not show up on the 29th, I feel they might "consider the application abandoned" as they say in the letter.

Are there experiences with this around here?

I am not busy (no EAD!) so I can just go to both, and the office I have to go for the biometrics is just 5 minutes from where I live. That will of course be 100% sure.

What do you guys think!?
