  1. I paid $130 for one vaccine shot (Tdap)and completion of the form, but not after paying another civil surgeon $300, but left after he insisted that I had to do all the physical tests which I knew I was not supposed to do as I was a K-1 visa holder. If you are close to Virginia, may be you should go to Williamsburg to Dr. Virginia's office, she is knowledgeable......don't go to the guy also located at the same place.

Yeah, I ended up driving two hours. Had to pay for Varicella titer ($55) and paperwork transcription ($35). Geez, had to pay $25 for her time, too. So a total of $115. I had inquired about the titer to many places and apparently a history is not good enough anymore. And paperwork had been returned. Eh, whatever I am not sure what the big deal is. Anyways. That was my experience. Dr. Gonzalo Fernandez in Garner, NC. Very nice staff and very knowledgable.

  2. I have looked up for months now( on here and other sites and have called around to) all the recommended Civil Surgeons posted and they are charging ridiculous amounts or are pulling titers I feel are totally unecessary. Are there any recently that have found one that isn't a con artist? MOST of the posts are years ago and I would like to know what the recent trending rates are running for comparison? Thank you so much.

  3. I know it takes 2 weeks to be registered in the system to then safely apply for a SS# after entrance into the US. Should we go over more than 2 weeks to be safe and what is the status update title when you are registered on the USCIS database? As of now we are still listed as post descision and has the NOA2 notif on there which was 6 months ago as of yesterday. I just want to know what label to look for so we can proceed without delay? Been delayed enough and don't want to mess up. I have called them and of course they can never give you any kind of "real time" answer.

  4. Would I need to provide the same tax "return" transcripts as I filed for the Fiance Visa? I know there are two forms of these that can be requested. Just want to make sure I order the correct ones. I looked @ the guide and is not specific. Can someone clarify please? Also when filling out forms with your name( since I am the petitioner and will be changing my last name), what is the proper way to fill in? My first name, maiden name, last name? We will be getting married and then immediately filing, so my last name will be different.

    Thanks

  5. Forgive me if I seemed abrasive. Maybe you all need to get on these K1 filers! Start sending them PM's. I know nothing about that process. But I do know the embassy is extremely helpful in Greece. For the Greek citizens it will be a breath of fresh air too, as compared to what they're used to dealing with, in regards to Greek gov't.

Well, my friend, If I may call you that. My dealings with the Embassy have been slim to none in regards to them not answering any phone calls. It goes to an audix and then says they will transfer me to an attendant which results in a hang up on my phone call. That happened about 8 times calling every hour. Let me tell, hate to see my bill. I have called them repeatedly during business hours to no avail. I have emailed them several times and they have responded within reasonable timing, BUT are vague and do not answer but maybe one question. Of course since you have been dealing with them strikes are now the norm so it has caused alot of issues on mail delivery. I too have utilized this portal and you are the only one that has actually reviewed them. There is not much info regarding Athens at all on here. I do wish our members were more involved. (I mean some countries blow up the forums with responses) It would help immensely. I actually have been in touch with two members on here by personal email. They have been very helpful. I have tried helping but I only know so much. Plus I work alllllll the time, So I am not always available. Our portal just doesn't seem to need questions answered I guess which made me think the Athens Embassy was awesome!!!! Well, in my dealings with them I find this not to ring true necessarily. My fiance even said that he was kind of amazed at teh lack of professionalism demonstrated in his phone call. I am sure I will have more, so far I am not really happy, BUT they are gov't so I mean you can only ask for so much. Plus, I do agree with you in reference to the Greek Gov't. It is a surprise every time I visit there and see things that boggle my mind. I am grateful everyday I am an American and I truly feel for the Greek people.

  6. I know this is totally biased and a little whiny but, is there any way of the people who have designed this page to separate/create portals for the different Processing Centers. Just b/c. I have basically tried to stay away from this site for the reason of the quickness that seems to be occuring for others and the lagging for us VSC people. I know everyone keeps saying hey it is happening to everyone, but umm no it isn't. I have no problem waiting, none what so ever and I am very happy for those that are recieving them so quickly. Just tired of seeing it happen, so anyone that can enlighten me to move to another area or provide one for me that would be great.

Ok, enough fussing. On another note I am so excited to be seeing my fiance in a month exactly so some of this wait will be relieved. Also had a question pertaining to the documents for Affidavit of Support is there a strict time parameter on the letter of intent date and employee letter for the interview. As soon as I get the NOA2 I was going to send everything so... Bad Idea or good idea?

  8. So here is what I have already:

~I-134 (Totally make more than needed for the support of two so included the below)

    Tax Return Transcript (2011)

Copies of last two paychecks, been there for 5 years and is stated on my paycheck

Letter from Employer (CAN SOMEONE PLEASE give me a template on what this should look like to make sure it is right)

(Seems like people provide way more than they need and the verbage says mulitples of any of the below listed in the directions. So......) Yes, I have visited the Athens Embassy Site. Nothing for a reference on requirements

~Complete copy of Fiance Visa Petition Sent

~Continuing relationship evidence: Phone bills, Skype logs, Itinerary from my upcoming visit, Etc.............

~Letter of "still" having the Intent to Marry - Cracks me up

    ~Copy of NOA2?????

I understand the redundancy on this subject, but well, I would rather be thurough.

  9. I know that some have had difficulty obtaining these and I just wanted to let you know. I requested over the website on July 30th and recieved them in the mail today. So whatever issues that may have come up on the website requesting, have been fixed I guess. This is just an FYI. Previous posts by others had me worried due to up to 4 weeks in delay past the request date. So decided to give it a try.

  10. Once the beneficiary is in the US and married to the petitioner, they must then file to adjust their status to permanent resident. The I-864 affidavit of support form is used at that time, and it is a legally binding contract for sponsorship. This is a reason the consulates follow the guidelines for the I-864 when reviewing the I-134 and financial documents at the K-1 interview.

Adjudicator's Field Manual - 30.8 Affidavits of Support for Nonimmigrants: http://www.uscis.gov/ilink/docView/AFM/HTML/AFM/0-0-0-1/0-0-0-9543/0-0-0-10124.html#0-0-0-722

This post has good information on the topic: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/300131-the-i-134affidavit-of-support-is-not-a-legally-binding-affidavit/page__view__findpost__p__4539587

Thank you this helps immensely. I had combined my info on the two Affidavits apparently. I needed some back up info to support my side that it is in fact important and yes I WILL BE held responsible when he arrives here. We plan to go get married and file AOS asap. Thanks for the clarification. I now understand that the I-134 is not binding me, but that was never the argument just that I will be solely responsible until employment can be his. Just needed the extra back up to my point. Thank you.

  11. So there seems to be a debate that I would like to set straight. Due to some literature reading on the subject we found this statement (found on another immigration website) to be misleading. It states that the Affidavit of Support is not legally binding to the support of your fiance and their stay in the US....... So what does that mean and then why do we have to sign a gov't form stating that we are going to take full financial responsibility for your spouse while they are here? I mean I am a woman of logic and find this just, well, yeah, a dumb statement. Please by all means give me some clarity to settle this? Thanks.

  12. Soooooooooo, I try to stay ahead of the game. Try, being the keyword here. My questions pertain to the time limit, the options, and limitations of obtaining a job once my fiance is approved,we are married and have filed for adjustment. And yes I make way above the poverty level for two people. No problem there, but I do work alot and well he is going to get stir crazy. He will need to do something every day.

~So is it at all probable for him to be applying to US companies now before he gets here? Will that hinder the process in any way?

~When AOS filed, is there a time limit to which he can work? Amount of hours, salaries, IF he can at all?

~What needs to be filed to obtain a work visa/permit? ETC.........

Thanks for any advice in this deparment.

AS of now, no we have not been approved, still waiting.

  13. Can I just say how disheartenting it is to see people getting approved that filed almost 3 weeks after you. Yes, everyone, they are CSC.

VSC you better make this up to us. Just saying. Also I have made plans to visit my fiance in late September.

Would it be ok to just ask for my tax transcripts a month prior to going over? Access to all the other supporting docu's will be easily obtained closer to my time of departure, but I was reading amongst many posts that it can take up to 3 weeks to get them. I would hope by then that I have heard something by way of an NOA2. I want to just take everything over to him so I hope that there is no time parameters on how recent they need to be like within a month or two? Seems silly to me since they are from last year. I know that some people suggest to wait until I recieve the NOA2 before collecting, but well with the time wait and difficulties others have been going through I would rather try to obtain things ASAPermitted. Our projected date of receipt changes daily. Right now it is about the time I leave so figured what a perfect opportunity to just give him everything. If things are missing I will send them when I get back.

If at all possible could responses be postive too? I work constantly so, no I don't have time to sit read up on here of every topic possible. I feel alot of times people seem to get reprimanded for a repeat question, which is ridiculous. Just something I have noticed and experienced. I do thank all that try to help support and the advice is greatly appreciated. :)

  14. Glad to be hated! If this comment is indicative of your personality and character as a human being, then I doubt you would have to try too hard to have your feelings reciprocated. B-)

I do not hate American men just because I was married to one before that was a complete controlling jerk(word chosen as to not curse and offend anyone). I never went out looking for someone from another country. I just met and fell in love with a man that was born and lived elsewhere. The immigration process is not fun and quite costly. If I had not just so happened to fall in love with someone in another country, I would never have set out to find someone outside the US and go through this process on purpose.

    Ditto. Well said.

  15. ..... and makes American girl friends who promptly americanism her.

I plan on taking my Fiancée twice a year back to the old country to reset.

Exactly. LOL and well it is b/c of what American men have done sooooooooo.........hence the fact I am marrying a foreign man. BUT men are men and women are women. May have some differences due to environment, but well eventually similarities are seen. My fiance asked me if I was sure I wasn't Greek?

  16. Hey! I've been reading some posts and I saw lots of complaints about this VC being so slow on sending the NOA2? Specially January filers! Does anyone has the same complaint on any other 2012 months ?? I just filed now on June, I was hoping to be with my love late November!! :/

Watch your timeline after you plug in your info. Only way to get an idea. It fluctuates at all of the processing centers. Early this year VSC was booming and CSC was slow. Seems like they take turns. Just estimate about 6 months for right now and watch the trends.
