Hi there,

My husband has his CR1 visa interview scheduled for 6th August at the embassy in London. Ideally he would fly out to the US to meet me on 16th August, but we are not sure now long it will take to get his passport back after the interview. I heard they mail it to you. Can anyone shed some light on this, ie. is it safe to book a flight for 16th August?

Filed I-130 DCF to London on Feb 7 2012. They charged my credit card within a couple of days, so I know they got it, but haven't received NOI-1 (not by email nor by post).

Anything to worry about? Can I assume that the date they charged my CC is the processing date?

The same thing happened to us. We called to find out where our postcard was and the person we spoke to says they don't send postcards anymore. The gist of the short conversation was that we needn't worry. If they've taken your money you know it's being processed. The wait time for the next notification is approximately 12 weeks from the date they took your payment.
