  1. Well, we have finally reached another milestone. Our interview is tomorrow and I am nervous, excited and a little scared. I think I didnt do a couple of things...first, I didnt have Ferlay go get a police report. Second, his Birth Certificate was not translated into English...its the original. And third, I am not there :(. We did everything right, I frontloaded on information plus I gave him some extra evidence. Please pray for us for tomorrow. Thank you VJ, I couldnt have done this without you and this support system means so much to me.

  2. Thank you Reese. As for Enigma1156, I am not sure of where your country is, but your statement was rude. I did not ask for observations, I asked for the help of what we should do. Asking to not take offense after you offended does not make the statement better. but just to be clear, I said we women have the natural nature to...taking care of children, the household, the being a WIFE part. My sweetheart was just following protocol of what they asked of him. But thank you for your comment on consulting the Embassy. I will do that.

  3. So here goes,

During my trip to Haiti, I kind of pre-prepared everything for my honey. You know its a woman's natural nature to take charge. Anyways, I organized the pictures, the phonecall/text info, all of the forms needed to be filled as well as my I-134. When we received Packet 3, I told Ferlay to place everything that they asked for in a separate packet, and keep the remaining stuff for the interview. I think they asked for my I-, DS156,157, and the medical results. The rest of the stuff I wanted him to have handy for the interview, like the pictures and so on. Well, my lovely fiance put EVERYTHING in one thing and handed it ALL to the Haiti Messenger...all of our evidence, pictures, everything!!!! He told me the lady at the Haiti messenger told him to do that. Is that true?? He gave them everything we have, so what does he bring to the interview. Am I going to have to fedex him some more pics and pictures and things....Please Help!

  4. I know I may be asking too much,

but can someone from Haiti give me the step by step instructions on how its going to be on Interview day. From the moment we are outside, till the time we are inside, till the moment we are outside again. I like very specific details so I can be semi-prepared. I understand every case is different but...ahhh....I'm so ready!!! Ferlay just submitted everything to the Haiti Messenger yesterday, so hopefully we will know when our interview will be soon.

Also, when he gets approved(In Jesus name!), can I come to the USA with Him...buy our tickets at the same time. Let me know. Thanks in advance

  5. Hello all, I found the closest place to post this, but please move it to the right area if need be.

We have finally received our packet 3 and my fiance is putting all of those things together. I do, however, have a couple questions.

    1. Can I pay for the IV online instead of sending it via western and him paying at the bank?I saw this as an option for the IR-C folks, but not for the K1.

    2. Does he have to do his medical exam and get the medical results before he submits it to the "Haiti messenger"?

    3. Because we have been waiting so long, the last few miles are making us so so impatient...how long does it take for him to get his medical exam results after taking it? How long does it usually take the Haiti messenger to deliver the packet to the Embassy and for the Embassy to respond? and finally, how soon after will they make your interview date?

Thank you to all of those that are able to assist. Have a wonderful day!

  6. Now that we are almost at the embassy stage(we are waiting for the NVC to send it to the PAP embassy), is there a way to ask that they email us the packet three instead of mail it. Is there some form of template to write them to ask that they do that for us. WHat do we have to say. Thanks in advance. Also, for my Haitian folks...how much exactly is Dr. Buteau medical exam. I want to make sure all the funds are allocated and budgeted out. Thanks in advance for you answers.

  7. Hello, I am not sure if this is the right place to put this but here goes. I have my cousin who came to the US after the Haiti earthquake in 2010, he was granted tps and recently we applied for a traveling document, so he could go home to see his parents. His TPS is valid until january 2013. 4 days before he was suppose to travel, his passport alongside his other immigration papers. Can he get those documents replaced, or do we have to apply for them all over again? Thanks in advance

  8. Hi all,

After my future husband comes to the States and all, we are planning to get married in Court, so we can carefully plan for our big wedding ceremony. My question is, I would love if my future mother-in-law and sister-in-law to come be a witness to our love...would it be an easy process for them to come?

off topic question as well, can we get married in court, then have a bigger wedding? I just dont want to have to rush in planning a wedding in three months

  9. Fly anyplace you want in the 50 states. We are all "United"( United States). And enjoy NYC. BTW. where did you score a $20 night stay in a four star hotel. ?

Thank you for your replies and so sorry for my late reply. I found the price on Bookit.com....it just happened to be a steal, and I couldnt get away from it. Im so excited, I am so ready for my future to come!!! Thank you again

  10. Helly Vjers,

I am currently in the midst of the whole process waiting patiently for my approved status. I am so grateful for this site..you guys truly rock! I think I put this in the right forum so if I didnt, I apologize.

My question- Once my fiance comes to the States using his K-1 visa, can he travel to other states. I am, and he would soon be, from Florida and I just purchased a getaway hotel in New York for us two( I couldnt help it, I paid 20 dollars for a two night stay in a 4-star hotel) in January '13. Now, my question is that would he be able to hop on a plane without issues or are we going to have to have a looooonggg drive? That would also be a question when planning places for our honeymoon. Do we have to stay in Florida..or can we venture to different states or even countries rather, if I am brave enough?

    Thanks in advance,

    Laura and Ferlay

  11. As of right now, I make more that the poverty line that they have...but my tax returns from last year does not show that..It was only for last year though. My tax returns for 2010 and 2009 were fine. I was just unemployed for a short period of time in 2011, but back on track now. What can I do? Will they hold that against me?

  12. Technically, chats & logs are not required for potential approval of the I-129F petition. However, Haiti is a tough place from which to pry a visa, so some front-loading of the petition may be called for (USCIS sends the consulate what you send USCIS). Check the links atop every VJ page: Embassy Info, & Reviews: Embassy.

Do NOT (do not! do NOT!) EVER submit any evidence with anything blacked out. It will only raise questions. If you front-load now (and certainly later for the interview), go through your chats and pick what YOU want THEM to see. A good sampling from throughout your relationship history should suffice.

Besides eliminating anything that you'd have to black out, be SURE that no item (and no subject-line in the chat log) indicates that you call yourselves "husband"/"wife" -- even if it's in fun. That's a no-no for a fiance/e petition.

Thank you guys...very useful information...about the husband/wife thing. What if I or he said future wife/husband. We reference ourselves in that manner often.

  13. Hi all, Im glad that there is a forum for us. I am new here, so any insight, encouragement and advice is welcome. I am planning on submitting my papers on Thursday...completing all my evidence now

  14. Okay, I think I am putting myself out there by asking this question, but I am sorting everything out to send for my petition of my fiance. I am going to submit text messages and chat records. Well...some of my chat records(well, majority of them) are kinda steamy. I know for a fact that they cannot deny us of having a fraudulent relationship then, but is it appropiate...or should I blackmark all of that? Its not really vulgar, but you can tell we miss our time apart when we are not with each other

  15. Hello guys,

I am a new visa journey member and I am very excited about this journey that I am embarking with my fiance. As soon as I get my fiance's passport picture and g-325, I will be sending out my k-1 application, but there is a part that I am a bit confused on. On question 18, it states: "Have you and your fiance met and seen each other within the two year period immediately proceeding the filing of this petition?" I am confused whether they are asking if I first met him at least two years or if I have seen him between now and two years ago. Me and my fiance have known each other since 2009, but I didnt see him until 2011(July and November). That is under two years, so I am worried that they will denied me because it hasnt been two years. Can anyone clarify this for me please? Also, will my passport and pictures of us together be sufficient evidence. When I was in Haiti, I stayed with family and he visited me. I have my tickets, passport and we took plenty of pictures.

    Thanks a million,

    Laura
