  1. Thank you Abby&Mario The link was super helpful. Today she had some strange guy come in the house walking around like he owned the place and never greeting my friend (husband/man of the house) the man was in there marital bedroom with his wife with the door closed and my friend says the situation was very threatening. They are out of the house and on a plane to safety in the morning and we will seek an attorney. The best thing to do is get especially the child out of that situation.

  2. Hello Everyone,

I have a friend who just entered the US a couple months ago on a K-1 visa and he was accompanied by his daughter K-2 visa. He realized the woman he was in love with is psychologically ill. She is on a plethora of medication and mood swings are severe. He continued the process and reluctantly married his fiance but he is now in fear of his daughter and his well being. He has been threatened and objects thrown at him and there are scary times like seeding in the car while threatening to kill everyone in it. Police have been called in-several instance and she even burned his cloths in the back yard with her kids (4 under age 9) assisting and watching. He sold everything he has back home and will be desolate if returns. He has family in the US along with original sponsor (not fiance) willing to help him get away from this crazy situation but no one knows if he can continue with an AOS if he leaves now. Please help! Any advise is appreciated. We are in fear of every minute they are under her roof.

  3. No DHL is near the airport either in Kingson or Mobay, get it delivered back to DHL in Kingston or Montego Bay which ever is closes to the airport you will be flying out of. I felt it was better to have it waiting for you to pick up there, than to wait for it to be delivered a Jamaican address. You can get to it faster if you go for it. We went to pick it up and headed straight for our flight.

  4. I'm sorry I never got around to posting our embassy review but I wanted to give some pointers that helped me along the way. You will find that the interview is the easiest part if you have all your docs and evidence the hardest is waiting for your honey to come out with a smile. I waited 5 hours including the hour we were there ahead of time. Shawn was interviewed by the white young guy who sware him in and only asked him to write both our names on a sheet of paper. He asked for evidence and was blown away by the amount of phone calls,(we spoke every single day, several time a day) He asked who put all the evendence together. Shawn responded, " My fiancee'" Interviewer said, "This is very good" after reviewing our album he paused at the picture of the tattoo of my name on Shawn's back, he says, "who is that?", Shawn reponded, "me" and that was it no questions, He was directed to DHL with an approval. I think we answered every possible question with all the evidence presented. Anyway if you are waiting for DHL and your honey before you return to the states, here are some things that helped me.

    1. We had the visa delivered to the dhl station nearest to the airport we were leaving from. ( It takes more time for them to deliver to an address)

    2. On the 5th business day I emailed the embassy for a status of the visa around 9am they sent it out at 1pm and it arrived at DHL by 3pm. We made our reservation for our flight at 3:15pm that day and left the very next day.

I spent 7 days in JA flew down the day before the appointment waited the standard 5 business day and we were on a flight back home 6days from his appointment date.

Best of Luck to everyone

  5. Hey Family, Yes we were approved and everything went smoothly. In my haste to get on a plane to see my baby I forgot my laptop, but I will update you with a full report as soon as I can. To all that are awaiting their appointment it seems to me it was the easiest part of the journey. I feel they already know by the time you get there what they will decide. God is so Awesome and Shawn and I will be home soon!

Does anyone have an idea of how long the wait is for DHL, and if we are waiting more than 14 days who do we call?

  6. It's obvious what I am most thankful for this year....Although Shawn is not beside me I am thankful for the opportunity to travel in the next 48hours to see him  I am thankful for our upcoming appointment and the faith I have that he will return to the states with me. Last but not least I am thankful that he and I, as well as all our family and friends are in good health and spirits! (L)

My only question to my VJ Fam today is, What are you thankful for this year?

“Thanksgiving is a day to count the blessings in your life,

It is the time to celebrate and be joyous; it is a day of pride.

It is a day to acknowledge the presence of the people, who form our world,

and to realize how precious their worth.

On this day, I want to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving my dear friends!”

  7. Keep messy co=workers out of your business. if beneficiary at times are told to get info from atty/petitioner Y would the dept call to divulge info or ask questions after visa is issued? they just called to say he's leaving  That visa dont even

require him having a job so?? Its scammers/pranksters be careful not to give out info....something is fishy.

I agree 100%. The back ground check is not a requirement for the Beneficiary and having a job is not required either which means the call was not required. My fiance told me he would tell no one about leaving until the day he is going to leave and he will even work up until that time.....now I know why. Remember they have concrete evidence of who he is at the interview police record, birth certificate, no impediment, etc. Why would a job that he is about to leave in Jamaica matter to the US?

  8. I saw our profile pop up in "upcoming interviews" today and I'm looking back at the comment I made back in May "three months to go!" lol Now that it's been six months since that comment,We are less than three weeks away from Shawn's embassy appointment and I feel overjoyed and blessed. I'm feeling stronger now that I have survived the longest 5 months<--- yea right, .

To anyone who is starting, going through, or have completed their visa journey, I just want to say that I know this is the most emotionally, frustrating experience for you and your loved ones. At the same time it is the most rewarding because with every step it gives you more faith, more hope, and the most incredible dreams for the future. Remember for some of us we are getting a chance to be with our fiance as they go through the longest part of naturalization process, and for others it is a long overdue reunion. I just wanted to share as I start to prepare for my trip to see the love of my life (L) , because I'm feeling a bit rewarded to be able to take another step towards our plans for the future. Understand hard work pays off and this journey so far has been worth all the sacrifice in the world. Thanks for letting me share (F) - VJ Family!

Oh yea I have a question...

Shawn goes for his medical on Monday..knowing it's different depending on the person. Does anyone have an estimate of the most he could be asked to pay?

  10. A certified letter or DHL with signed delivery is all you need. Proof that you mailed the papers to him and that he recieved them. After the date of receipt he has ususally 90 days depending on CA law to respond to the complaint. After that time period has passed if he does not respond you can then file a motion to continue your case without him. I am not a lawyer just telling you the process that I experienced as a US citizen who divorced the Ex-husband who lived in another country. On the flip side if he contest your complaint then you will need a lawyer to proceed.

  11. And that's how we do it here Famliy... Welcome to VJ YaadiLuv...I Love this site more and more everyday  I don't think I would have remained sane though this process so far with out seeing such great support from everyone just reading your experience, advice, and comforting words is enough to get us through. :ot: Sorry..continue B-)

  12. I contacted NVC today and they told me what they told me last week...."call back next week" ....I got the message fam, wait and stay patient. thanks I needed that. I guess after years of waiting, we are trying to jump the gun a little and figure out how to speed it up...my fiance and I are so close yet still so far, but Thanks again I can't tell you how much reading everyones experience has helped a persistant person like me stay sane

  13. I have my KNG # but the file has been with NVC since 9/20  and no it has not been sent to Kington yet....Don't know what they are waiting for but thought they could open a provisional file until they get it. everything was signed by my fiance I have an original and so does he. We have been so prepared as far as paperwork that it's been sitting waiting for each step :bonk:

  14. Good Day Fam, So I have everything needed for package 3 DS-230 Part I&II, DS-156, DS-156K and even DS-157 though I don't really know if the DS-157 is needed. I would like to email it all at once to the embassy. My question is, Am I being too presumptuous? should I just send the DS-230 Part I&II and wait on the other paperwork? and do I even need the DS-157? I know I'm anxious  but I wanna be sure, Thanks guys
