  1. I sent in I-130s for my parents a month ago. I'm aware that 5-6 months is the current processing time. In the interim, can my parents travel to the US to visit the family for a few weeks and then go back out of the country? They've got 10-year visitor's visas that are current. If they do enter the US while the I-130 is pending, do they need to bring specific documents?

    Thanks in advance!

  2. I'm trying to plan out when it'd be best to file I-130s for my parents to move to the US. Presuming that their I-130 applications are approved within the current 5-6 month processing times, how many weeks/months on average does it take for NVC to process and call them for a consular interview? Of course, that is to the extent that there is some "average" timeline for NVC processing. Also, presuming that their visa is approved after the interview, how quickly must they wrap up their lives and move to the US?

    Thank you.

  3. My guess is that your #2 is correct. My I-751 was approved at TSC in a month, so I'm assuming we will have a similar timeline. I'm confused at the fingerprinting request though, as I didn't have to do that. Perhaps your current fingerprints expired? At any rate... congrats. :)

Did you get a letter/notice saying your application has been received and is being processed? I'm a bit worried because when I go get fingerprinted, they'll probably take away the 797C I have now and I'll have nothing to show that I've filed the I-751 until I actually get the approval letter (a month later if the timeline is the same as your's). :clock:

  4. Hi all,

I sent in my I-751 and supporting docs to the Texas Service Center last week and it reached them on July 12, 2006 (USPS tracking). Today (July 17th) I got a notice in the mail saying I should go get fingerprinted at the local application support center. I can't figure out what stage of the process I'm in:

    1. Did some Speedy Gonzalez at the Texas Service Center already approve the application in a matter of days and now I've to get fingerprinted as the last step of the removal of conditions process?

    OR

    2. Is the fingerprinting just a part of the application and all the docs and application won't be reviewed until after I get fingerprinted?

*super confused* ... I know someone said in a post a few days ago that the Texas Service Center was speeding up a lot lately but processing applications within a couple of days? Wow. It sounds too good to be true?

  5. We were married in Feb 2004, moved to Florida shortly after and went through a few crazy trips to Colorado when BCIS's computers didn't update our request to move our application/file to Miami. Which in a way was a good thing because we got our interview date within 7 months of applying!

I just sent in my I-751 application about a week ago and received one of those 797C notices to go get fingerprinted in 10 days. Eeeks .. to think this will finally be over soon.
