  1. Hey don't take this the wrong way but stress and going through this causes brain freezes and anxiety. I went through this same issue in 2007 that ultimately tore my ex fiancee and I apart as she could not handle this prcess etc. So I know first hand how stressful this St Lukes process can be and how the OP needs to keep it together for his fiancee at this time. It is a very difficult time for them and anyone going through this. St Lukes is not good at giving answers on this topic. Just wait and call back March 27th. I heard this all before and it is the longest dang 7 weeks of your life wondering.

the OP can actually ask st.lukes nurses. They give answers. My fiancee asked them many questions after she was told about the sputum exam. And they clearly explained to her the process.. The staff nurses in 4th floor are the one who are giving explanation. I, the petitioner even called them and asked about the process., they explained everything to me over the phone.

  2. i understand the OP for being anxious and worried, stress and whatever you call it...

BUT i can see his previous posts asking the same questions... Vjers who was in the same situation before already answered him with the SAME answer.

TO OP: Pull yourself together. Be strong as your fiancee needs you the most this time. Read the answers to your previous questions which are same with your questions now. I believe the Vjers have been answering it already. Asking the same question over and over again will not help you. It will just pile build up the tension in you. Waiting is all you can do right now, and of course praying :innocent:

  3. they put a stainless thingy in my legs they called it Anthena bcoz it looks like TV anthena. my 2 bones in my legs was broken and i lost some muscles also.. they called it open fractured communited thingy.. the stainless itself cost 20k already. motor accident is expensive if they going to put stainless in your bone.

yes you are right. The stainless thing now cost more than 20K. it's Comminuted fracture.

  4. I had motor accident 10 years ago it was pretty bad it cost us around 100k pesos for hospital bills , medicine around 30k pesos, therapist around 50k pesos we can say all expenses will be around 200-250k pesos that was 10 years ago.

But guess what if ur fiancé families don't have money to pay the hospital they can always go to welfare . We have enough money to pay the hospital bill but my mom ask for help in welfare so we can pay the therapist .

Welfare granted us 75% of the hospital bills and then I asked my doctor if he can help me too . He gave me 20% off for dr pay. Overall my mom only payed around 10k pesos.

If your fiancé family not shy to ask for her help (if they asked her for help) they won't bother to asked welfare too ...

    I'm just saying .....

Oh btw I went to Philippines orthopedic that Is public hospital ... We asked private hospital the near to my town the dr said it will cost us almost the same except they are nearer than Philippine ortho.

really? 200k 10 years ago is like 500k now.. I dont think it will cost like that in a public hospital. my friend from Davao who undergo brain surgery last 2 years was only asked 100k as dr's fee.. some meds are free. no room fee.

For the OP, do what is right. You should help them as they will become your family too soon. But don't put yourself on debts. Prioritize.

  5. i am a nurse, and 10,0000$ (more or less 400,000 pesos!! for a motorcycle incident is crazzzzyyy... Yes good medical here is costly. BUT, on the first place, why would your fiancee's family go to an expensive hosp such as st. lukes when they can go to a public hospital. i mean, Maybe they should have thought about expense too.

Lets say her brother will undergo ORIF, ORIF costs like less than 150,000Pesos (total) in a public hospital. I dont have anything against private hosp, infact they are the best. But public is not that bad, he will also get treated there.

What kind of surgery is her brother supposed to undergo anyway?

OP, ask your fiancee what hospital her brother is admitted. And from there you can ask how much a particular surgery cost, dr's fee, room fee. pigmonk is right, if he is in public hospital, it will be a lot cheaper than $10k..

  6. For a K-1 visa, most embassies will want to see the 125% with form I-134 (instead of the 100%), because they know you will be filing the form I-864 after the beneficiary is here in the US and you get married. The I-134 is a form used for other non-immigrant visa types, in which case only the 100% will apply. However, the other types have no immigrant intent, but K-1 visa holders do and this is why they want to see 125%.

Will they look at my fiancee's 2011 annual income? or the 2012 pay stubs and letter from employer? because my fiancee only make 17500 last year, but this year he got a raise and is earning 20000 annually. estimated annual income in his letter of employment. What do you think?

  7. OH but i read on USCIS website about this: please read below

Proof of Financial Support and Affidavit of Support Forms

During the visa interview, applicants will be required to present evidence to the Consular Officer that they will not become a public charge in the U.S. You may present evidence that you are able to financially support yourself or that your U.S. citizen fiancé(e) is able to provide support. The Consular Officer may request that a Form I-134, Affidavit of Support be submitted by the U.S. citizen fiancé(e).

The U.S. citizen fiancé(e) will need to submit Form I-864 to USCIS with the application for adjustment of status to that of legal permanent resident following the marriage.

Do the Same Income Requirements Apply to Form I-134 as Apply to Form I-864?

No. The 125 percent of the federal poverty guideline minimum income requirement, the most recent year's tax return, and other requirements only apply when Form I-864 is needed. Applicants presenting Form I-134 will need to show that their U.S. sponsor's income is 100 percent of the federal poverty guideline.

So, thhe post of uscis does not apply to USEm in manila? and my fiancee still need to reach the 125% poverty guideline?

  9. Ok, so I have Been doing some research and It seems that pictures are secondary evidence, I have been reading some people on here have done ok, just with passport and the air tickets, I am sure I can get them.

You can search if co-sponsor is allowed in your country, because in Philippines it's rare. Well, the consul or the interviewer usually asks pictures of you and your fiancee together, with Date Stamps. So i suggest you secure those things first. Save your emails, snail mails, chat logs, phone logs, even remittances if you have.

  10. Good luck!

remittances? I have lots of western union receipts. Will it be useful to show those? Don't you think the interviewer will think of something different like I'm taking advantage of my fiancee?

Best of luck to you!!! :star:

He has no dependents and is employed in a security company. Do you think with 19,000 gross annual income, he still needs to be present on my interview date? Thanks btw :)

  11. Hi. Let me try to answer your query by the number.

    1. The requirement is that you must have seen each other within the last two years...so you're good.

    2. According to NPR.ORG the current poverty line for a family of four (4) IS $24,000.00 So, with that, I'm hoping that your fiance doesn't have more than 3 dependents. If none, then you're on the clear.

    3. How many is a few pictures? During my interview, the CO only looked at three (3) of ours. But I had more than a hundred. Remember, USCIS only requires five (5) but it won't hurt to have more than that. Regarding your chat logs. You still have time to build up more chats. Use SKYPE screen capture. Email each other everyday between now and your interview day. Complile them and present it IF they even ask. Plane tickets if you have them. Money remittances and such.

Let me assure you....if you have all your ducks in a row, the interview is nothing but formality.

Just make sure you have your papers in sequence so the pre-screeners and the CO's won't have to dig it up and you'll have a smooth process.

I know a lot of this is anxiety. Just relax. PRAY and TRUST in God. He knows what's good for you.

He'll grant you the desires of your heart according to HIS will.

I won't say good luck.....I'd say GOD is on control (only if you let HIM)

God bless and may the Lord guide you.

I just really get worried even more, specially that my interview is scheduled already. We've been in a relationship for almost 5 years. Anyways, he has no dependents, we are both single, never been married. We have like 10 pictures. Thanks btw

  12. Hello to all!

I just scheduled my k1 interview at USEM here in Manila city. We are already preparing financial documents. I am really worried that we got denied because:

    1. we only met twice, July 2007, and July 2011.

    2. His current income is $19,000 before taxes (gross, he only rent the place he lives in.

    3. We only have few pictures, NO snail mail, but we got yahoo chat logs.

    4. and he wont be with me in the interview.

Do you think those would be grounds for denial?

  13. the petitioner should call NVC and get your case number, as soon as you have it pay your visa fee at BPI bring your passport with you and then schedule your interview after that you figure out when you will have your medical exam at SLEC.. USEM Manila isnt sending out packet 3 and 4 anymore so dont wait for it anymore :)

Oh you just answered my question in oone of your post

    Thanks for the info... :innocent:

It depends on what type of visa application but in our case we are the one who is responsible for scheduling our interview.

I myself, did not receive any documents the fellow vj members here just told me what to do... :)

2 weeks after you received your noa2 your petitioner can call the nvc to know your case number, the case number is the key to your medical and interview so even though you did not receive anything from the embassy you can still proceed with your interview and medical.

    Good luck!:)

Btw..here is the link for the packet 3...

    :)

    Thanks for the link :innocent:

  14. you decide for it, all you need to do is schedule your interview date and get an appointment letter and then you can schedule your medical before your scheduled interview :)

Oh i see.. what do you need to bring during the medical exam? Oh did you receive the packet 3 and 4? what did you prepare for the proof of engagement?
