  1. Wahh wahh all of you whining that illegals are getting to do their stuff too should just be happy other ppl not in your situation are finally able to have the opportunities you alll are

Getting with your spouses. Talk about a bunch of rude, ungrateful people... Ppl in our position have been waiting patiently for a process like this to change so don't think you are the only ones who have suffered waiting. Sheesh.

    Ungrateful?

    Zero sympathy.

Illegal = crime. As much as people beat around it, immigration is pretty black and white. If it's illegal - it should be punished. It's not very difficult. There are unfortunate cases of families being separated - but THAT, should really be thought of before doing anything ILLEGAL, as it is a known consequence.

I will be happy for those who did everything they could to be with their loved ones the right way, the legal way. Not everyone gets granted the same opportunities in life. I won't sit around feeling sorry for those who didn't get a certain opportunity, like no one sits around feeling sorry for me.

This is immigration and LAWS - not a Lifetime movie.

OH - and I'm mexican with mexican parents and a mexican husband. I state this because everyone knows it mostly benefits people from Mexico as it is our neighboring country. My parents did things the right way, I did things the right way. Good for them and good for me.

The very best of luck to anyone still waiting for their loved ones who are GOING THROUGH THE PROPER PROCESSING.

  2. So then you don't need to wait for the visa to arrive in Juarez anymore? My fiance was telling me this.We live in Tijuana and she was saying it can just be sent to a DHL here now instead.I was just curious if this was correct.I would love to see your review we just got approved 3 weeks ago and recieved our letter saying we have a case number in juarez yesterday. They said they would mail the paquet to my fiance soon whatever that means/we both live togeather here in Mexico but I was using my Mothers address where I work and from in San Diego,California also and thats were our approval letter and the other one naming our consulet arrived.

That's correct, you may choose from any of the DHLs listed on the website when you schedule the interview.

'Mailing the packet' means you will soon get the letter needed to schedule her appointments and interview, which she will have to take with to them.

  3. It really depends. Some people get it the next day, some by the second day, third, etc.

Everything went perfect at my husband's interview and it took them three business days and a weekend.

(Example: His interview was 7am Thursday Oct 18th, Visa was ready for pick up at 5:30pm Monday Oct 22nd, flew in the 23rd.)

It's not something you can plan with extreme precision, unfortunately.

Wishing you guys the best. Xx

  4. If you can go the day before, go ask for it - if not, I've read some threads that it STILL wasn't an issue.

(I'm trying to find the thread as we speak.)*

What I read was that, you can show up to your ASC tell them you don't have it that you need to run over to the consulate to get it printed and they'll let you go get it and come back! In Juarez people are actually pretty nice. My husband forgot the letter for his medical and they just said no worries, go get it and come back. I'm sure if you explain the situation they'll understand.

Hehe, don't think just because you don't have it all your appts will be cancelled! :D

  5. As you were told before, you can get the letter printed off in Juarez. Go early(let the guards there outside that tell people which lines to get in that you only need to speak with someone at the customer service/info window) on the 17th before the ASC appointment to the Consulate information/customer service window and tell them you never received the letter and need it for the ASC appointment and your visa interview. They will print one out for you.

Exactly. Please don't worry, you'll be fine.

    Good luck!

  6. We didn't send a letter of intent, and we got our NOA2 in less than four months. 5 pictures, two plane tickets, one Skype log and a few letters exchanged between us.

Actually, our attorney laughed and said the letter of intent was sort of outdated when I was freaking out about not having it the day we were sending the paperwork out. Kind of silly that they require something in writing saying you want to marry them - it's kind of why people petition for a K1.

But hey, whatever it takes to get them here with us right?

Wishing you the very best on your journey!

  7. The form itself looks a little less filled out than ours, but I would say okay?

Except... I'm not too convinced about the envelope not being sealed more.

Anybody could just easily open the envelope and mess with it, which is what USCIS will probably think, too?

Maybe someone can give their two cents.

(* I was going to provide pictures myself, and then I realized we have already given our envelope to our advisor for filing. Sorry! :bonk: )

  8. After coming across another post, I think I realized OP is in the US illegally.

    With a fake SSN.

I agree with most in the thread - I used to think all these new rules implemented to help those who really needed it was awesome - nobody likes to be away from their family.

But after reading the finer print on this 'waiver', I feel like some of us are being cheated out. :hehe:

I don't want to call it unfair, but ... oh you know.

But anyway - Good luck to everyone on their journey, with or without waivers.

  9. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/231026-civil-surgeons-who-dont-rip-you-off/

Alas, the thread of all threads! It literally saved me $300.

Found one on my own that was charging me between $150-315. Another VJ member passed this thread on to me, went to one that was recommended on there and was charged $25.

There's 22 pages of civil surgeons across the country. Look through it to find one in San Diego!

    Good luck!

  10. As for the way it is filled out - that's up to you how comfortable you feel on how much they did. We went to one doctor who was going to half as* the form and wasn't going to fill it out - in my opinion - to the best of his abilities (and he was charging us a ridiculous amount!) so I decided to go elsewhere.

They gave me a copy of what was filled out and the envelope she gave me was a white envelope with the offices' ink stamp on the front (nothing fancy) it also said USCIS ONLY DO NOT OPEN (written by hand). On the back side she sealed the envelope properly (you know by licking it  ) and along the seal the nurse signed it and put the date, that way if opened, it would be obvious.

I was content with her work and they didn't charge an arm and a leg, so we were very happy to say the least.

I think you'll be fine. Just don't mess with it.

  11. Care to point out where the restrictions on the tone of voice is mentioned? This website and this process is not for the pansies who get offended easily and care about how others ask them questions or educated because come worse, you will get interviewed in a very bad manner about very personal questions about say your favorite sex position or get labeled a liar and a sham, at the embassy, later on for green card, later on for citizenship. No one has any obligations to anyone to sugarcoat the truth or care about others emotions and feelings. These are facts, bare truth, take it or leave it.

Correct people will get interviewed at the embassy - if they are rude and judgmental, leave that to the embassy not rude members.

No one said anything about sugarcoating. After three pages people are continuing to bash on the OP saying the same fluff. If he got it after the first, great if he didn't - people just get rude and mean for no reason instead of leaving the thread.

Pansies? How about adults. No bullying. He lied. It's wrong. He said he didn't care. So we move on to another thread where the OP will take our advice. Yet you feel like it's your duty to teach this guy or any other member a moral lesson on how he or others will be treated at the embassy? Rough him up? Those aren't answers to questions. And just because you know or anybody else knows more than another does not give anyone a right to be so rude on threads or posts.

This has gotten so incredibly off topic. OP - my apologies. I hope you got the answers you sought out to get.

    xx

  12. Y are u always so negative and harsh with your words people make mistakes and they would regret it true, but stop rubbing it in. People post for assistance not for antagonistic comments like yours. Tell him how he can go about his situation not how his life sucks....

I agree with you amaka50. Not the first time I have seen this poster be overly negative and rather mean when replying, in various forums.

There are various ways to educate others - nicely - and advise them, than in many of the ways I have been seeing lately on VJ.

If the OP refuses to listen, IGNORE the thread and move on. Why rubbing it in over and over and OVER in various replies, I have yet to understand.

    tsk tsk.

    :bonk:

  13. People cancel appointments on a daily basis. Plus there are a lot of factors, too as previously mentioned - Embassy workload.

There could be one available two days from now, there could be one in a week or maybe in a month. They're pretty random.

Follow the instructions and worry about that as soon as you get to that point. You obviously want to have enough time to do everything, without feeling rushed.

Minor mistake - don't think it'll cause any problems. Always be honest.
