In my case we filed the I-130 and G325A with my maiden name. Oh God I hope I will not have problems in the future. We just got the NOA1 and we're waiting for the NOA2. Also my passport is about to expire this year (2012)on August and I don't know if I should change my last name or just keep my maiden name since we've already filed those forms in my maiden name. So I guess I should just renew my passport with my maiden name. T_T IDK Any Advice?

Hi Guys!
I just wanna follow this forum. We just got our Receipt Notice on Feb2012 2 weeks after we filed the I-130.
I also signed up to the USCIS website to keep track of our status. Right now it says "Initial Review"
Good Luck to all of us!
I assume ours will take 5-7months. WOW!!! =(

Welcome to VisaJourney!
Just a note, this thread is for NVC filers, not USCIS filers like yourself But you're welcome to stay and gather knowledge for when you do get to NVC in about 5 months.
Big LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me and my husband is also February 2012 Filer. I hope everything goes well.
I was just thinking about filing the I-129F after receiving the Receipt Notice from USCIS but since I read from somewhere that filing the I-129F after I-130 is not really important and does not really matter and that CR1 is the most advisable visa type for me, I am not gonna file the I-129F anymore.
Glad I found this website!!!
Good Luck to all of us!!
I-864 Do we need a co-sponsor?
in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
Posted
Hi Guys,
So I am just wondering we are filling up the I-864 (Affidavit Of Support)and not sure if we are below poverty line. What is it anyway?
Right now yy Husband is a 1099 Independent Contractor who makes about $42,000/year. I am unemployed and not making any money. We did not ask his Mom or Dad to co-sponsor for me and I think we won't be asking help from them anyway as his Dad and my husband are not really in good terms right now. His parents divorced when he was a kid. =( Sux I know.
Anyway, my husband did pretty well 3 years ago as he was making 70K/year but it did not end pretty good financially. When I met him he's already a 1099 Independent Contractor and was only making enough, had save only a little amount of money. His parents never gave him anything. He gave up his car and Apartment in America just to move here with me in the Philippines. So basically, he owns nothing in America but instead owes 50K at the IRS.
So do you guys think we are below poverty line? Do we need a co-sponsor? Any Help?
And also we used his Mom's address as "address in america where we intend to live" another quick question, Do we put them also in the household size even if my husband is the only one supporting me? Well inside the house there is his Mom and her new husband (No kids) and there will be me and my husband eventually, total is 4. How do we do this? Do we also need to count them as household size? Also we won't be living with them anyway, we plan on getting our own apartment once we get to america, we are only using their address for my husband's mail and etc, but my husband does not actually lived there.
Any Advice?
Thanks Guys!!
