  1. yes that's why i attended the seminar at smef-cow last week before i even had my interview. So after i received my passport with visa(hopefully next week) i will just need to go to cfo-manila to get the sticker.

  2. i did call st luke last friday and the guy that i talked too said its ok to do the medical in advance but i cant register online bcuz it ask me for the interview date.

just put any date in the form. are you trying to register online? i just put any date this august then upon interview at the reception area. I just told them we are still waiting for an interview date. that's it, they will allow you to have your medical.

  3. I think you have passed their normal wait time of 15 to 20 business days to get your file reached to NVC. Try to escalate by calling NVC and ask for supervisor, and also send an email to NVC.

we already did. we even called up a congressman and we found out that our file is stuck somewhere with the mailing/courier company..apparently they outsourced the mailing system or services of USCIS..

  4. called NVC today morning and got a nice lady, she told me that our case has not been received from CSC, and advised to scan the NO2 and email it to them... i have called several other times and that is the same response i am getting.. wondering how come our case has taken more than 30 days to be sent out to NVC.. are there other guys with NO2 in may and the cases have not reached NVC?

hi our case was also approved on may 15,2012 and not yet receive, but i saw dates of approval like may 16 and may 22 and their cases were both at NVC...

  5. No case number yet - today is one month since NOA2.

Called twice today - both operators told me 30 business days for case number to be generated after receipt....this does not bode well at all.

Congrats to you interviewing people, and best of luck!

mine too, going on 1 month this june 15,2012 not yet received by NVC.....emailed the scan copy of NOA2.....looooooong wait.... praying this week, we will receive good news...received and with Case number!!!!!!!..

  6. Not at all. Unless you provide them a bank statement, NVC will not know how much is in your savings. They just care about how much is made per year.

Anecdote: my husband was making $40k when we were going through NVC, which is well over the poverty limit for 2 people. But he always only has a few hundred dollars (if that) in his savings account (he likes to buy things laughing.gif). Wasn't a problem at all.

oops just "harrassed" my husband about it :lol: thank you saylin!

  7. I think you're overthinking things. Relax a bit, and come back to the form. You're supposed to tick which box applies to you, and not just NO because everyone's supposed to answer NO. :P

I included a separate sheet on my DS-230 for my addresses and educational history. I copied the table format as it was found on the DS-230 using MS Word, same headings and all, and printed it out. My IV package was approved.

hi i just wrote my college education..no need for the elementary and high school info, right?

  8. Isn't it AWFUL!?!! It's almost put me to sleep before when I've called and am already drowsy. There are also times I happen upon the words, "Thank you for your patience" written somewhere and I hear that guy's voice!

I hope you get a less hostile/angry/rude person than seems to be the norm today, based on the posts I've been reading. Wonder what's gotten their knickers in a twist. I mean, THEIR lives aren't on hold for something. GEESH!!

yeah, why are the call agents in NVC rude? i know they got tired also but let's change place. let's see what is more tiring answering these calls or waiting for a decision so you can finally start planning and "living" your life with your husband. (extra painful if you have a son been waiting/dreaming for so long to be with his daddy so they can wrestle the whole day). maybe these call agents don't realize that.

  9. dreck.

time to slow down a bit. Don't pay anything else till the two casefiles are joined up.

you want the casefiles to be joined up at NVC.

Have yer USCitizen Spouse call in to NVC, and ask for 'AOS FEE BILL' on the son's casefile.

Keep asking for that, until it arrives in his email inbox. Call every two days until it shows up. Don't pay it, but then..

call into NVC again, ask for the casefiles to be joined up.

Once they are joined up - the son's AOS fee bill is waived (yer USCitizen Spouse will see that in the online payment portal, after the casefiles are joined up)

and at some point , get the DS-3032 for the son into NVC.

WHEN the son's IV fee bill shows up, pay both IV fee bills, as by then - the casefiles are joined up.

Why is this important? You want the casefiles to be joined up, as

--the son's AOS fee bill is waived and

--you two get the same interview day - which is really important.

    Good Luck !

hi darnell, thanks for your reply re: son's school

i have another question quite related to this one..do we have to send original transcript for my son's AOS package and mine. i mean my husband just ordered for 1 copy of tax transcript. are we allowed to send just a photocopy of my husband's tax transcripts to my son's AOS package? thank you

  10. Please note you will not get anything from the US Embassy in the Philippines. Follow the guide and on the usembassy link there is interview immigrant preparations instructions, make sure to follow the English version. There is a tagalog version as well. However, if there is a difference, the English version is followed.

From the day you get the MNL number, NVC will send about 2 days later to Embassy. Allow 1 week for transfer to Embassy. then 1 week for processing at Embassy. You can schedule Embassy interview online anytime now. Scheduling online works best and you can choose the date which works well.

Please note visa is based on St. Luke's MEDICAL date not on Embassy interview date.

Complete St. luke's medical BEFORE the interview date. (you can do a couple of days prior, but a week is recommended.) St. Luke's will cancel the embassy interview, if there are issues at St. Luke's.

You will have to do these forms for Embassy interview:

hi is there a guide like this for IR-1/CR-1 application?

    1) proof of payment

    2) valid passport

    3) Original NBI (both top and bottom portion)

    4) Original Cenomar - proof of singleness

    5) DS-156 -- 2 copies

    6) DS-157 -- 2 copies

    7) DS-157k - 1 copy

    8) birth certificate (original on securty paper)

    9) other police clearances from other countries if resided in the country for more then 6 months after age of 16

    10) military records (if any)

    11) proof of valid engagement (what you submitted to USCIS plus photos)

    12) any divorce decrees, death certificates,

    13) I-134 - 1 copy, signed by petitioner

    14) tax forms for last 3 years supporting I-134

    15) payroll stubs supporting I-134

    16) letter from employer supporting I-134

    17) visa photographs (2x2, please note Philippine passport standard is different). 3 copies. (I suggest having 12 so you also have for AOS and St.Luke's as well.)

(14 through 17, make copies to hold onto, you will reuse these for AOS)

You can read my review of the embassy interview process as well as others on the Embassy. Help prepare your fiance for the interview process, it is not something she will be used to.

Best of luck on the process. This part will go quickly.

  11. We got our Green Card issued Yesterday. Almost exactly 11 months from K-1 filing to her here and receiving Green card. When you follow the process and meet the guidelines it is a fairly painless process..

I wonder if the rest of you noticed this phenomenon. NOA1 made me excited and I followed VJ closely. By the time the NOA2 came I was ecstatic and that period of time between NOA2 and interview almost drove me crazy. The day she traveled I don't think I slept a wink and tracked her flight every 10 mins. It seems that between the Marriage and the time you waitng on the Green card, though you settle into your married routine and the green card seems like a small milestone, instead of the huge life changing experience. It really does not change a whole lot except she is legal now.

I will add this also. For those of you still new in the process wondering if it is all worth it. The answer is a Big YES. Hang in there. Don't read those internet horror stories about Men that get taken advantage of. I have figured out that when that happens, it is usually because they made poor choices. It is as good as you imagined..

fairy tales really do come true..... love your story..... (L)
