I need your help/opinions please..

I'm a Filipino, married to USC and now living in the US. I'm going to Canada on August to attend a wedding, I have my EAD/AP but still waiting for my GC. I'm kinda worried because I'm not sure if I will get my GC before my flight. Now, my question is should i apply for a Canadian Tourist VIsa to be safe? Or just wait for my GC and take the risk?

mlovesm just fin reading the entire thread, they're correct that you cannot change your status bec u didn't marry ur petitioner. I would suggest to go back to Phils, it will cause you more trouble if you will still stay here as illegal.

im having the same problem. i arrived here in the US last 11/13, i applied for SSN 11/30 they said wait for 4-6weeks but cannot use my husband's last name, last monday 11/28 we went to SSA office and they said immigration didn't verify my status when i applied last Nov and now they can't check it because my i-94 is about to expire on 02/10. so, i was advised to wait for my ear or greencard and apply again.

i guess it really depends with the state

I just saw online that my NOA2 got approved.

Got an RFE on the 2nd of October, USCIS acknowledged RFE on 13th Nov, am still waiting for NOA2 hardcopy.

To those who sent back their RFE, there is hope yet. Be patient and good luck, I hope yours come soon too!

I got question tho about travel tax.. there is a tax included to my ticket bought my fiance online, so means i don't have to pay the travel tax at the airport ?? just wanna be sure ..

You don't need to pay travel tax anymore that was the same question I asked to KAL rep when I booked my ticket. She gave me 2 diff rates kase, she said if she will not include travel tax I will have to pay at the airport pa, so I booked the one with travel tax na

Hi Hank, what do u mean form from 2GO? I selected pick up too when I scheduled my appointment online. Had my interview last Thu, the guy from 2GO told me to wait for my visa to be delivered and gave me the first page of my appt letter. I told him that I selected pickup, he asked me "where's your confirmation" idk its not indicated on my appt letter

@tin-Jen good luck I wasn't nervous, I was bad trip haha the pre-screener (filipino) and an American consul were snob but I'm thankful bec they approved my visa haha
